Bob Hayes really wanted to slap himself hard across the face.

’Look at you, slacking off on your studies. Now you can’t even string a sentence together in front of your dream girl!’

However, Chloe Sinclair just smiled, the corners of her lips curling up to reveal two small dimples on her cheeks.

"I’m heading home now. Drive safe."

"..."

After a long moment, it finally dawned on Bob Hayes, and he nodded. "Oh, okay, okay."

Back home, the first floor was still brightly lit.

The Sinclair family were all sitting on the sofa. A television was on in the background, but no one was watching it.

Chloe Sinclair slipped on her slippers and walked into the living room, only to find all the men staring at her. She froze for a second, then asked, "What’s wrong?"

The men exchanged a look and then, surprisingly, said in unison, "Nothing."

After they spoke, everyone froze again for a moment.

They glared at each other, each one exasperated by the others’ failure to step up.

Their gazes clashed in mid-air, sparks flying from their eyes.

Chloe Sinclair was speechless.

’What kind of silent game are these guys playing?’

"Dad, I’m going up to get some rest."

Mr. Sinclair was taken aback and quickly said, "Wait."

Chloe Sinclair turned back. "What is it?"

Mr. Sinclair’s heart skipped a beat, but he still asked cautiously, "It’s so late. Were you out with that brat from the Shaw Family?"

’That brat from the Shaw Family?’

Chloe Sinclair thought that the man from the Shaw Family was certainly no brat.

’He’s a wolf now.’

’A man-eating wolf.’

But since her father was asking, Chloe Sinclair still nodded and answered truthfully. "Yeah, he just got to Kennet today. I went to pick him up. On the way back, my car was rear-ended, so I just dropped it off at the repair shop."

The moment they heard her car was rear-ended, the men’s gazes instantly locked onto Chloe Sinclair, so intense they felt like they could burn a hole through her.

Mr. Sinclair grew anxious, his voice almost cracking. "Rear-ended? Was it bad? Are you hurt, sweetie?"

Chloe Sinclair was dressed in thick clothes, so they couldn’t tell if she was injured.

Therefore, everyone’s gaze grew tense as they stared intently at Chloe Sinclair.

Chloe Sinclair shook her head. "I’m fine. It was just a minor accident. The person who hit me was actually an old classmate from C-City. He wasn’t familiar with the roads and hit me by mistake."

Hearing that Chloe Sinclair was okay, the four men breathed a sigh of relief.

Ethan Sinclair frowned. "That boy is too careless. It’s a good thing it was just a minor accident. If..."

Ethan Sinclair didn’t finish his sentence, but everyone knew what he meant.

"Don’t worry, Big Brother. I’ll be more careful next time."

Only after Chloe Sinclair said this did the patriarchs finally relax. They then proceeded to lecture her repeatedly about traffic safety.

One after another, they chimed in, and by the time Chloe Sinclair got back to her room, a full hour had passed.

As for that brat from the Shaw Family...

The patriarchs had long since forgotten all about him.

There were three days left until the New Year. Chloe Sinclair did a quick mental calculation and realized she had already been home for nearly half a month.

And she had been slacking off for almost that entire time; she hadn’t even entered the system once in the past few days.

A sense of guilt slowly started to fill her.

For these three days, Chloe Sinclair woke up early almost every day.

The Sinclair family didn’t really have any important relatives, but there were many side branches, and they all came to the main Sinclair household for the New Year every year.

So, for these three days, the four siblings put all their work aside and began to meticulously prepare for the New Year.

This was Chloe Sinclair’s first New Year since her rebirth, and she took it very seriously.

She bought lots of New Year’s goods at the supermarket, as well as red paper, brushes, and gold ink, and wrote a pair of Spring Festival couplets for her family and even for Uncle Warren and the others.

As a result, a pair of couplets was posted on the door of every room in the villa.
