Chapter 400 - 212: The "Equipment" Is Quite Complete
"Baby~ are you done yet? I can’t wait to soak in the tub!" That soft, cloying voice was a jarring contrast to his brawny physique. Who could have guessed that a man who looked so masculine would talk like such a sissy?
Hearing this, the rich woman’s frown vanished in an instant, replaced by a wide smile. "There, there, darling~ I’m almost done!"
After she spoke, the rich woman turned back to the front desk. Any trace of her smile was gone, her expression icy as she glared at the receptionist.
"What are you dawdling for? Believe it or not, I’ll have you packing your bags and getting the hell out of here tonight!" she snarled, flinging her platinum card at the receptionist’s face.
Seeing this, Su Chen’s expression turned cold. He wasn’t actually that bothered by the rich woman using her platinum card privileges. After all, that’s just how the world worked; privileged classes existed everywhere. Su Chen himself now enjoyed many conveniences that came with his own status.
’If she had just asked nicely,’ Su Chen thought, ’I might have even let her have the Victoria Suite. It’s just a room, after all. Switching to an executive suite wouldn’t be a big deal, since I’m only staying for one night.’
But the woman’s attitude was utterly repulsive. With that air of superiority, as if she was above everyone else, there was no way Su Chen would let her get her way.
The commotion at the front desk caught the lobby manager’s attention. He strode over, had a quiet word with the receptionist to get the full story, then picked up the platinum card and turned to the rich woman with a practiced, professional smile.
"Esteemed Platinum Member, I’ll process your check-in right away!" The lobby manager said, then bent down to use the computer.
Su Chen was not pleased. ’Are they just going to ignore the two of us?’
TAP TAP~
Su Chen tapped on the counter and asked with a hint of sarcasm, "So... is this the standard of service at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel? Have you never heard of ’first come, first served’?"
The manager didn’t get angry. He maintained his professional smile. "Sir, this lady is one of our hotel’s Platinum Members. She has the right to priority service. We ask for your understanding."
"Heh," Su Chen said, his tone flat. "And did you ever bother to ask if I’m a Platinum Member?"
At these words, the professional smile on the manager’s face froze solid. Even the rich woman beside them was completely dumbfounded.
But the manager was an experienced professional. He recovered instantly and said respectfully to Su Chen, "Sir, may I see your Platinum Member card, please?"
"I don’t." The two sharp words rang in the ears of the lobby manager and the rich woman.
The lobby manager, who had been about to reach out for the card, was left looking like a complete idiot once again. He couldn’t believe his ears and asked again, "Sir, did you say you don’t have a Platinum Member card?"
The respectful tone was gone from his voice.
A flash of contempt crossed the rich woman’s eyes. ’Putting on airs,’ she sneered internally. ’Trying to act like a big shot. Did he really think he had the hotel’s Platinum... Card?!’
But then the rich woman saw the card Su Chen pulled from his pocket, and she froze.
"I wonder if this card is a higher level than her Platinum Member card," Su Chen said, handing it to the lobby manager.
The lobby manager stared at the card, his hands trembling slightly as he took it.
"Sir, this is a top-tier black card from a bank in Switzerland! It’s the highest possible level. You’re entitled to a complimentary five-day stay in any room type you choose!" the lobby manager said with the utmost respect.
As the manager of a five-star hotel, he was knowledgeable about such things. He knew Su Chen’s Swiss bank black card was different from the standard version. It had a star on it, which meant the account had been opened with a minimum deposit of one hundred million US Dollars.
The corner of Su Chen’s mouth curled up. He shot a sidelong glance at the rich woman. "Just process the check-in," he said.
"Right away, sir!" The lobby manager immediately started typing at his computer.
The rich woman, watching this, was so furious she could barely breathe. She pointed a trembling finger at Su Chen. "You... Are you fucking kidding me?"
Before Su Chen could say a word, the rich woman’s "baby" rushed over, pulling her into a protective embrace. "Baby, it’s okay. I’ll take care of this for you."
He then let her go and started toward Su Chen to cause trouble, but Chen Fei stepped directly in his path, fixing the man with a vicious glare.
Chen Fei, after all, was a man who had seen real violence. The murderous glint in his eyes was too much for an ordinary person to handle. It scared the man so badly that he stumbled back two steps.
Coincidentally, he bumped right into the rich woman. Losing his balance, he staggered backward, and the bag he was carrying went flying. Several pieces of "equipment" spilled out.
A small leather whip, a ball gag, a dog leash, and candles scattered across the floor.
Everyone present was stunned by the sight. Su Chen’s gaze flickered between the "equipment" on the floor and the couple. He finally understood why the rich woman had been in such a hurry.
"Tsk, tsk... Rich people sure have a lot of... hobbies," Chen Fei muttered from the side.
He didn’t bother to lower his voice, however, and everyone present heard him loud and clear.
The rich woman’s face fell. She shot a furious glare at the man, who was just scrambling up from the floor, then grabbed her purse and stormed off without a backward glance.
Seeing this, the man frantically stuffed the scattered items back into his bag. "Baby, wait for me!" he cried, scrambling to chase after her.
"I can’t believe I got to see such a good show the moment I arrived in Tianjin. This trip was worth it already!" Su Chen said, a smile spreading across his face.
You don’t see something like that many times in a lifetime.
"Sir, your room is ready. Here is your key card."
The lobby manager’s voice pulled Su Chen from his thoughts.
After Su Chen took the key card, a bellhop quickly appeared at his side, ready to escort him and Chen Fei to their room.
"That receptionist of yours has an excellent service attitude. She deserves to be commended." Su Chen glanced at the young woman, who was standing quietly to the side, then left her with that parting comment before following the bellhop.
The lobby manager naturally understood Su Chen’s meaning. He looked at the young receptionist and said, "You did a great job today. You get a five-hundred-yuan bonus and a promotion to assistant team lead. Keep up the good work!"
Hearing this, the receptionist said excitedly, "Thank you, manager! Thank you!"
"Don’t thank me. You should be thanking yourself and your own persistence."
With that said... the lobby manager turned and walked away from the front desk.
