Chapter 186 - 137: Showdown: It’s Mine

At this thought, Wu Jing recalled Xiao Chen’s earlier investment. He glanced at Xiao Chen before speaking directly to Su Chen.

"Hmm... so Brother Cheen wants to get in on it? No problem. We’ll make money together, and if we lose money, we’ll lose it together!" Su Chen wasn’t worried about the investment in the slightest. Even if Wu Jing’s film was a hit, his share of the profits would be minimal.

Judging by the performance of the first *Wolf Warrior* movie, the profits would be a few hundred million at most.

To Su Chen, that amount of money was just a drop in the bucket.

Su Chen wasn’t too concerned about how much Xiao Chen invested. After all, investments didn’t have to be just money; other tangible contributions could count as well.

"By the way, what are you three doing here? Didn’t you go out and have fun last night?" Su Chen asked, looking at Xiao Chen and the other two.

Logically, Xiao Chen, Jiangyang, and Yin Zheng should have been partying hard last night. At this hour, they should still be asleep in some hotel, not showing up at his place this early. It completely defied his expectations.

"Well, we were talking about what happened to your father over dinner last night. We just wanted to come by today and see how you handled it, and to ask if you needed any help."

"It’s already taken care of. My original plan was to go through their company to properly ’repay’ those three. But who would have thought their company would be acquired by Ye Feng’s Ye Group. I had to scrap that idea and just have Ye Feng send the three of them on a ’business trip’ to Africa."

Su Chen’s voice was perfectly calm, without a hint of emotion, but his words crashed into the others like a tidal wave...

’Sent to Africa?’

’Considering what they just learned about IPS Security Company’s power in Africa, taking care of those three would be child’s play.’

After a long silence, Xiao Chen finally spoke. "Su Chen, if you can, just teach them a harsh lesson. Spare their lives."

Su Chen paused, taken aback for a second. Then he replied, "Brother Cheen, what are you talking about? I’m a good, law-abiding citizen. Why would I ever do anything illegal?"

Jiangyang and the others rolled their eyes. ’He sent them to Africa, and he’s talking about abiding by the law?’

Before they could process that, they heard Su Chen’s voice, now tinged with ice, say, "Sometimes, living is more painful than death."

"I’m sure the big black guys in Africa will take good care of those three!"

At his words, the corners of Xiao Chen’s and the others’ mouths twitched uncontrollably. ’Big black guys? He’s planning on having them tormented to death! What’s the difference between a life like that and just being dead...’

"Alright, enough of this depressing talk. Let’s move on to happier things. Jiangyang, you really shined this time!" The coldness on Su Chen’s face vanished, replaced by a faint smile.

"Hehe~ A minor thing, just a minor thing!" Jiangyang was grinning so wide he couldn’t hide it.

"By the way, Shuraya was still asking about you when she left. She said she’d come back to hang out with you again soon!"

Su Chen shot him an exasperated glare. ’Jiangyang must have been fanning the flames. There’s no way Shuraya would have thought of that on her own.’ He silently added a black mark next to Jiangyang’s name in his mental ledger.

"Since you’re both here today, there’s something serious I want to discuss with you," Su Chen said, looking at Xiao Chen and Jiangyang.

Yin Zheng and Wu Jing, who were standing to the side, were tactful enough to take the hint. Before Su Chen even had to say anything, they made an excuse about drinking too much water and needing the restroom.

After the two had left the room, Xiao Chen looked at Su Chen, puzzled. "What’s with all the mystery? What’s going on?"

"Brother Cheen, you forgot your promise to back me, didn’t you? I’m planning to make my move after the New Year, and I need you to find me a place to build a factory."

"Of course I haven’t forgotten my promise. But what are you planning to do? I need to know so I can find you a suitable location." Xiao Chen was well aware that he had made quite a few commitments to get Su Chen to drag the Arno family into his affairs.

"I’m going to develop our very own computer chips," Su Chen said, his expression grave.

"Chips?" Xiao Chen and Jiangyang exchanged a look, a flicker of confusion in their eyes. ’Why, out of the blue, would he want to get into such a massive money pit?’

Several major domestic corporations had already invested tens of billions into chip research, and it hadn’t even made a ripple.

’How could a total amateur possibly succeed in developing a chip?’

Seeing the resolute look in Su Chen’s eyes, Xiao Chen paused for a moment before replying, "No problem. I’ll pick out a few suitable locations for you to choose from before the New Year. I’ll also do my best to secure government support for a chip-related venture for you."

A smile spread across Su Chen’s face upon hearing Xiao Chen’s assurance.

"Hehe... Brother Cheen, just you wait and see!"
