Chapter 185 - 1137: Showdown, It’s All Mine

He knew those tribes were armed, and on top of that, the natives were unreasonable. Rescuing people from their grasp completely unharmed would be impossible without some serious power.

At the very least, you’d have to intimidate the tribe’s "warriors."

"Why are you asking me? The man himself is right here, just ask him!" Su Chen had only eaten a little that morning and was genuinely getting hungry. Besides, he didn’t know the exact details of how Raymond had pulled off the rescue either.

After Raymond rescued Wu Jing and his group, he had simply given Su Chen the gist of what happened during his report, so Su Chen didn’t know the specific operational details.

At Su Chen’s words, everyone turned to look at Wu Jing. Xiao Chen was no exception; the curiosity in his eyes was practically written all over his face.

Wu Jing understood Su Chen’s unspoken message: he could speak freely. Clearing his throat with a light cough, he began, "Actually, it wasn’t all that dramatic. The people who came to rescue us just brought a convoy, and the tribal chief handed us over right away."

"A convoy? That’s impossible!" Xiao Chen immediately shot down the idea. "Those tribes in South Africa have dozens, even hundreds, of armed men. There’s no way they’d be scared witless by a single convoy!"

"Ahem... this convoy was a bit on the large side!" Wu Jing said awkwardly.

Xiao Chen’s brow furrowed even deeper. "Large? How large are we talking? Don’t tell me they had twenty or thirty armored vehicles?"

"Over a hundred!"

The room fell silent in an instant. Aside from the sound of Su Chen eating his snacks and sipping tea, everyone stared at Wu Jing. Even Xiao Chen was stunned by the number.

Over a hundred armored vehicles. That was a staggering number. A force of that size could practically run rampant across South Africa. Besides the government, who could possibly contend with them? It was no wonder the tribal chief had handed Wu Jing and the others over immediately upon seeing such a display.

"That’s impossible. Who in South Africa has the resources to deploy over a hundred armored vehicles? Unless... unless it’s the IPS Security Company, which operates all over Africa..."

Xiao Chen whipped his head around to look at Su Chen, who was still eating his snacks. Then, glancing at Wu Jing’s expression, a realization dawned on him. The convoy that rescued Wu Jing had to have come from the IPS South Africa branch!

’But what was Su Chen’s connection to the IPS Security Company? If he had simply hired them for a rescue, there would be no reason to be so secretive. Thinking back to Wu Jing’s expression earlier, it was clear that Su Chen’s connection to the company was significant.’

’That had to be why Wu Jing was so tight-lipped, refusing to discuss what had happened in Africa. He had only dared to speak up after getting Su Chen’s tacit approval.’

He took a few large gulps from his teacup, then looked at Su Chen and asked, "Su Chen... don’t tell me you’re a shareholder in IPS!"

As soon as the words were out, both Jiangyang and Yin Zheng looked toward Su Chen. Only Wu Jing remained perfectly calm—he was, after all, the one who already knew the truth.

"Mmm, IPS is mine." Now that it had come to this, Su Chen saw no reason to hide it.

The cards were on the table. The IPS Security Company was his, Su Chen’s!

"Hiss..." Xiao Chen sucked in a sharp breath. Other than Su Chen himself, he was probably the only one in the room who truly understood the sheer scale of the IPS Security Company.

As a security firm ranked in the world’s top ten, IPS was arguably the most mysterious. They had a presence in many regions, from Africa and Europe to the Middle East.

It was also the only top-ten security firm that never released its financial reports to the public. No one knew its number of employees or its annual revenue. Its ranking was based purely on its proven capabilities.

IPS handled security for the vast majority of mines in Africa. Xiao Chen had even interacted with them a few times during previous missions and knew firsthand how exceptionally professional they were.

He just never would have imagined... that the ultimate boss behind the IPS Security Company was Su Chen.

The room fell silent once again, everyone’s eyes fixed on Su Chen, who was still focused on his snacks.

"Why is everyone staring at me? Haven’t you ever seen a handsome guy get hungry before?"

Su Chen’s joke broke the tension, and the serious atmosphere in the room lightened considerably.

"Oh, right, Wu Jing," Su Chen said, finally remembering the matter at hand. "You said earlier you had something to discuss with me. What is it?"

"It’s like this, Mr. Su," Wu Jing began. "I think Mr. Raymond is a perfect fit to play the main villain, and I was hoping you could... talk him into it for me." As he spoke, Wu Jing pulled out a script for the villain’s part and offered it to Su Chen with both hands.

"Have Raymond act in a movie?" Though surprised, Su Chen took the script from Wu Jing.

The script wasn’t very thick, only about six or seven pages long.

Su Chen read through it carefully. It was just as Wu Jing said; Raymond was a perfect fit for the villain. As a mercenary leader, Raymond had the exact aura required for the role.

Furthermore, Su Chen also saw through Wu Jing’s little scheme. The villain in the script was the leader of a large mercenary group, complete with all kinds of armored vehicles and tanks. Wu Jing didn’t just want Raymond to play the part—he wanted him to bring his own equipment, too.

The gears were turning in Wu Jing’s head so loudly Su Chen could have heard them from the Imperial Capital.

It wasn’t a big deal. After a moment’s thought, Su Chen agreed.

"Alright. I’ll talk to Raymond about it," Su Chen said. "You have his number, right? You two can work out the specifics then."

"Thank you, Mr. Su!" Wu Jing exclaimed, standing up and giving Su Chen a deep bow.

With Su Chen’s guarantee, there were basically no major obstacles left for the film’s production. Even securing the warship at the end was taken care of, thanks to Xiao Chen’s support.
