After stepping out of the elevator, the woman in the lead shot everyone a disdainful glance and muttered, "You hicks want to eat here? Dream on."

Watching the three women enter the restaurant, Su Zhixin turned to Master Su. "Dad, why did you stop me? It’s not like you didn’t hear what that shrew was saying."

It was true their clothes were a bit plain today, but that was no reason to be ridiculed. This was clearly a case of looking down on the poor.

Master Su raised an eyebrow and shot Su Zhixin a look. The agitated young man instantly fell silent.

"Let them say what they want. If a dog bites you, are you going to bite it back?"

"Besides, it’s your older brother’s birthday today. If you’d actually started a fight, you would have ended up at the police station, no matter how right you were."

"And another thing..." Master Su glanced in the direction the three women had gone. "Judging by their clothes, they’re not simple folk. It would just be another mess for your older brother to clean up."

Su Zhixin considered his father’s words and realized he was right. Although still furious, he could only console himself with the thought that it was best not to stoop to their level.

When Su Zhixin and his family entered the restaurant, they saw the same three women standing at the reception desk, chatting with a well-dressed man.

The man was clearly fawning over them, speaking in a flattering tone, while the three women occasionally nodded in response. When she spotted Su Zhixin’s group, the lead woman’s face twisted into a sneer.

She said a few words to the man beside her, even pointing at Su Zhixin’s party. It was unclear what she was up to.

A moment later, the well-dressed man approached Su Zhixin’s group, wearing a professional smile.

"Hello. I’m the hall supervisor for the Liyu Huaiyang Restaurant. Are you here to dine?"

The question instantly reignited Su Zhixin’s suppressed anger. He glared at the supervisor and snapped, "Seriously? If we weren’t here to eat, would we have come just to see you?"

At his words, the supervisor’s face flushed red, his fake smile freezing in place. He shot a glance over his shoulder at the three wealthy women, then decided to drop the act altogether.

The smile vanished from his face. "I’m sorry," he said, his expression now blank, "but the restaurant is fully booked today. If you wish to dine with us, you’re welcome to come back tomorrow."

Su Zhixin hadn’t expected the art of "face-changing" to be so widespread. ’Even a restaurant supervisor has mastered it to perfection.’

But this time, he didn’t get angry. Instead, a mocking smile played on his lips. "Fully booked, you say? What a coincidence. We already have a reservation."

Hearing this, not only the supervisor but also the three women behind him were stunned. It had never occurred to them that this group would have booked in advance.

As one of Wudu’s top Huaiyang restaurants, it certainly wasn’t cheap. The bill per person was easily in the four-figure range. Only the wealthy could afford to eat here; a meal for a small group would cost close to ten thousand yuan, and even more if they ordered specialty dishes.

But this was the first time the hall supervisor had ever seen people dressed so plainly come here to eat.

The supervisor’s expression wavered. If they really had a reservation, he couldn’t just turn them away. But if he didn’t, the distinguished guests behind him were sure to be displeased—one of them was a top-tier VIP customer.

For a moment, the supervisor was caught in a dilemma.

Just then, the restaurant’s manager heard the commotion at the reception desk. Thinking something was wrong, he hurried out of his office.

Seeing the three wealthy women at the front desk, he immediately rushed over to greet them. "Well now, I knew it was a lucky day when I heard the magpies singing this morning! I never expected Ms. Qin, Ms. Xiaomei, and Ms. Lili to grace us with your presence."

"Why are you all still standing out here? Supervisor Yang really is clueless. Please, right this way!" As Manager Li spoke, he motioned for them to enter a private room, but he noticed the three women had no intention of moving.

The manager realized something was amiss. Why were there five other customers standing by the entrance, with his own supervisor seemingly blocking their way?

Just as he was about to ask his supervisor for an explanation, the woman named Qin looked at him and said, "Manager Li, what is going on with your restaurant? How can you just let any riff-raff in?"

"Let me make myself clear. If you let them in to eat, we’re leaving."

At her words, Manager Li’s brow furrowed. In business, anyone who walks through the door is a customer; you couldn’t just turn people away.

He quickly pulled the hall supervisor aside to ask what was going on. When he heard that the group had a reservation, something clicked in his mind.

He knew there were only three reservations for private rooms that evening. Two were for regulars he knew personally. As for the third... The memory of what happened yesterday made Manager Li shudder.

’Fuck, it can’t be. I can’t be that unlucky!’ A terrible premonition instantly washed over Manager Li.

Plastering a smile back on his face, he approached Su Zhixin’s group. Spotting Master Su among them, he greeted him with a cheerful laugh. "Sir, my apologies for the wait. Might I ask which private room your reservation is for?"
