Chapter 406 - 214: The Battle of Jinling’s McDonald’s
It was Chen Fei who had locked the door.
When he saw the three Japs get dragged into a corner and thrashed by the university students, the smile on Chen Fei’s face grew even wider.
Good times never last. Someone must have called the authorities, because a few patrol officers arrived shortly after.
Seeing them arrive, Chen Fei discreetly removed the lock from the door.
When the patrol officers walked into the McDonald’s, they saw three Japs cowering in a corner, each with a bruised and swollen face. Standing nearby was a group of young men with indignant looks.
"What’s the situation here?" the lead officer asked loudly.
As if emboldened by the arrival of the patrol officers, the lead Jap pointed at the group of young men and shouted in broken, heavily accented Huaxian, "They hit people!"
Hearing this, the lead officer’s brow furrowed instantly. His tone was unfriendly as he asked, "Japanese?"

Someone in the surrounding crowd immediately shouted out, repeating what the lead Jap had said earlier. Many others chimed in, and the scene grew noisy again.
When the lead officer heard that this Jap’s grandfather had come to Jinling decades ago, his hand resting on his waist clenched into a tight fist. If it weren’t for the uniform he was wearing, he would have gone up and beaten the crap out of these three "thugs" himself.
But... procedures still had to be followed. He asked everyone for the details of what happened, writing everything down meticulously in his small notebook.
"You’re the manager. Your store should have surveillance cameras, right?"
The manager shrugged innocently and said, "Sorry, the surveillance system’s main console just happened to break yesterday. I was just about to call someone to fix it today."
The officer was taken aback for a moment, then a meaningful smile touched the corner of his lips. "Really?" he asked.
"Of course it’s true! The God’s honest truth!" the manager said righteously, looking the officer straight in the eye without a hint of fear.
Just then, a voice came from the crowd. "I have a video of those Japs harassing the waitress. You can hear everything they said clearly."
"Oh? Let me see it!" The officer’s eyes lit up as he turned to the person who had spoken.
The video wasn’t very long, just over a minute. It started right when the three Japs walked in. When the officer saw their expressions and actions, a flash of anger crossed his face as well.
The end of the video was also interesting. It cut off right after the lead Jap finished the part about his grandfather.
After getting a copy of the video, the lead officer coughed twice and then signaled his men to handcuff all three Japs.
He walked over to a tall male university student, patted him lightly on the shoulder, and said softly, "Well done!"
Then he turned to the surrounding crowd and announced loudly, "The matter is settled. These three men violated public security regulations. You can follow the official reports for further updates!"
With that, he gave his men a look, and they escorted the three Japs, who still hadn’t processed what was happening, out of the building.
"WOOOW! AWESOME!"
After the officers left the McDonald’s, cheers erupted from inside. Hearing the happy noise, a smile appeared on the lead officer’s face as well.
"Damn, what a shame," Chen Fei sighed, watching the three scumbags get shoved into the car. "If I’d gotten a chance, I’d have pulled some dirty tricks on those bastards to make them miserable for the rest of their lives."
"You’ll have plenty of chances to fight in the future." A cold glint flashed in Su Chen’s eyes, but it was quickly replaced by a faint smile.
He glanced back at the people sitting in small groups, chatting about what had just happened. The male university students who had jumped in first were now the center of attention, surrounded by a group of beautiful female students.
The manager came over and gave Su Chen a thumbs-up. "Man, you really have some foresight!"
"Haha, it was nothing. I saw you trying to poke them a few times with a broom later on." Su Chen hadn’t expected the manager to be such a man of passion.
"Too bad it was too crowded, I couldn’t squeeze in. Otherwise, I’d have let those little bastards have a taste of my clay-pot-sized fists." As he spoke, the manager clenched his right fist and threw a few punches in the air.
The two chatted for a while. Su Chen’s peripheral vision caught sight of the display case behind the counter, which still held plenty of hamburgers, Chicken McNuggets, and other items. An idea struck him, and he pulled the manager aside again.
After the two whispered for a few moments, Su Chen took out his phone and scanned it at the payment terminal.
"I’ll leave the rest to you. We’re heading out now!" After saying this, Su Chen left the McDonald’s with Chen Fei.
The manager still hadn’t fully processed what had happened. Seeing the payment confirmation and Su Chen’s departing figure, he clapped his hands excitedly and shouted, "Friends, can I have your attention, please!"
The chattering customers quieted down, all turning their gazes toward him.
Seeing all eyes on him, the manager announced excitedly, "A gentleman just now was so moved by everyone’s bravery that he’s bought out the restaurant for the day! Everyone here can eat and drink whatever you want, on the house! But no take-out!"
The room was silent for four or five seconds before everyone erupted in cheers, shouting out their orders.
Su Chen and Chen Fei stood a short distance away, watching the crowd celebrate.
’It’s up to our generation to use our youth to defend our great nation of Huaxia. It’s time we took up the baton,’ Su Chen thought to himself.
"Did you back up the entire video?"
Earlier, while the officer was copying the video, Su Chen had Chen Fei make a copy as well. But this one wasn’t like the one shown to the officer; it was the complete, ten-minute-long video.
"It’s backed up. I’ve sent it to President Zhang as you arranged, and I’ve also clearly explained what you wanted done," Chen Fei said respectfully, a trace of admiration in his eyes.
The President Zhang he mentioned was none other than Zhang Yiming, the boss of Byte. As for why he sent the video to him, it was due to a sudden inspiration Su Chen had.
This was thanks to something that had happened with Byte before, and some things Elder Xiao had told him later.
As a leader in the short video industry, it was a natural fit for promoting the patriotic spirit of our generation!
"Let’s go. We can check out some other places. I remember the famous Qinhuai River in Jinling is nearby, right?"
Su Chen glanced back at the McDonald’s out of the corner of his eye, then turned and walked toward the side of the road.
