Gate of Amitilicia Online

Episode 23: Einfast Grand Library

Tiochli chicken for a long time was delicious. I bought three of them, but I have no regrets.

I headed straight to the Grand Library. To find out about the subhumans. Honestly, I want any minor information right now.

"Oh, Mr. Fist. Long time no see."

When she entered the building, a long-haired glasses woman at the reception bowed her head. I can already say I'm familiar with your face, Misty the secretary.

"Long time no see. I'll let you use it today."

"Thank you for everything. Are you still making copies today?

You know I was writing down recipes for cooking and dispensing, so Misty asks me that as she receives royalties.

"No, the main thing this time is to look into it. Do you have any books on subhumans? You know, like what kind of subpeople there are, the ones who know how to relate to humans."

"If that's the case, you'll be there."

Point to the bookshelf where Misty is located. I wanted to thank you and go over there.

"Hmm...?

I stopped.

Now the bookshelf Misty pointed to. There is nothing wrong with that itself.

but the discomfort grew. The discomfort I had when I first came here, I think I can almost tell what it is...

"Hey, Misty. Where's the book on blacksmiths?

"That's the blacksmith, right?"

"So, what about the book on sewing?

"Next door."

"Books on Language"

"Right next door to the subhuman relationship, though."

"What about books about other countries?

"Two on the left of the legal bookshelf."

"... Is there a book that says it's like public common sense...?

"I do. It's the same shelf as other books."

Misty answers my question without hesitation. My expectations change to certainty.

"By the way, what books do you keep on the back bookshelf or the bookshelf upstairs?

"That's a lot of poetry and stories. And then there's the specialty books in each field."

"Specialties are also about blacksmiths and dispensations, right? Why didn't they show you around before?

"When it comes to vague inquiries from the Gentiles, I was also instructed to show them through this bookshelf first. to guide the relevant bookshelves once again if requested on specific and professional matters,"

... I knew it.

"Since when are bookshelves in this lobby here?

"... Indeed, more than six months ago? Until then, the bookshelf location had a desk, and the book collection was in the back bookshelf. I don't know why I did this."

"After installation, any changes to the type and number of books?

"I remember I didn't"

More than six months ago in this world means... before the service starts. Since then, there has been no change in the contents of the book.

The Grand Library has a blowout lobby when it enters through the entrance. I keep bookshelves and browsing desks here, but behind them there are more bookshelves on each of the first and second floors.

When I first got here, I was uncomfortable with this. I wonder why I made this arrangement.

The bookshelves in the lobby are arranged to sew between seats, except those on the wall. I managed to make space and arrange it. Not as neat a line as in the back.

Besides, the book itself is not too numerous. There were quite a few vacancies on the bookshelf, and it was common to have a few books with the same title.

Until now, and this time, all the books I asked for were on the bookshelf in the lobby. I've never been guided through a bookshelf in the back of the lobby. It would be unnatural to clean up everything you've heard of in this large library in the lobby bookshelf.

"It was for us..."

Look at the bookshelf in the lobby and squeal unexpectedly.

Probably a bookshelf book in this lobby, this is for our players. It's also for beginners. If the training center is a combat tutorial, is this a whisper help? A space that aggregates information about the world of GAO. I'm putting together all the basic information I need to work with GAO in one place.

"... what's wrong?

"No, anything...... oh, I'll get some more rugged books"

Clouding words, I buy a few blank books and move to the bookshelf.

I don't know if my imagination is right, but I have to ask the operation. But it doesn't make sense to ask that. The important thing is whether all the books we have here are useful to us.

First I looked for a book on subhuman relations. There was a book titled "Amity Liscia's Subman 1" so I take that seat for my hand.

Looking at the table of contents, there were all kinds of species names lined up. Elves, Dwarves, Beastmen, Goblins, Oaks and Lizardmans. In addition to the species the residents have told us about, Kobold, the mermaids also appear to be listed as subhuman. Nothing else... nothing in particular. I wouldn't be surprised if this stream included sahaggins and harpies...

"It would have sucked if Kobold had met him too... in an enemy certified sense"

This is also a race that often comes out as enemies in games. Well, for now, all the subhumans on here are offensive NG. Other than that... it could be leaking, and it would be safe and solid to make sure each time.

Well, why don't we check each race in turn?

Elves first. Features long ears and immortality. It just seems that when it comes to immortality, you end up looking older. I specialize in bows and all of my clans mend spiritual magic. Hmm? Some clans mainly live in the woods, but by the sea, he said. The colour of the skin varies depending on the area where you live...... the family of elves living in the woods have white skin and the family of elves living by the sea have brown skin, or... that, I mean, no dark elves? Especially since they don't seem to be getting along. Seems like a way to say forest elves and sea elves. Hmm, I need to make sure I don't mistake sea elves for dark elves...

Next up is Dwarf. The fact that male dwarves feature a disappointing physique on low backs is pretty much what I imagined, too. Male dwarves shrug their mustaches from a young age. The female dwarf must have been a legal loli with no mustache for sure... yeah, it says here that this can be misseen by a toddler girl too. However, even though she looks like a lollipop daughter and is skinny, her powers most of the time exceed those of a human man, and... if the world's perverted gentleman speaks poorly, she'll be peppered. Loving alcohol and having a lot of craftsmanship is not out of the picture. Men seem to be good at blacksmiths, woodworking, and women at craftsmanship. However, there are many hammers that are good at it. Is this place a little off the image? Speaking of dwarves, I was personally under the impression of an axe.

Next up is the Beast Man. Essentially very different from humans, but decidedly different traits are beastly ears and tails. Then a little hairy, he said. You're not the type with a beast from the neck up. They don't seem to have sharp nails or teeth or meatballs on their hands and feet. They seem to be descendants of a child born between the Holy Spirit and man. The number of beastmen is quite large, even to the kingdom of the beastman... wow, the force of the beastman. Many people have better physical abilities than humans, but they don't seem to be good at production activities such as blacksmiths and crafts.

Hmm, you said that all three species so far are actively involved with humans. So, shall we go next?

Goblin. He's the lead enemy of fantasy RPG, but he's different in this world. Slightly smaller than humans, thinner hair and greener skin are the hallmarks of GAO goblins. They mainly build settlements in the woods and live in hunting and gathering. Seems to have a good night's eye for racial traits. They say it's very rare to show up in the human living area, but they sometimes bring in furs and stuff to buy supplies?

Oak next. This also often comes out as an enemy in the fantasy system. The appearance varies from source to source, but in GAO, you mean a subhuman with a head of a pig or boar. It is said to have a flesh that is bigger and stronger than man at a time, and is superior in strength. These guys live mainly in mountainous areas, hunting and gathering. They rarely appear in the human sphere, just like goblins. We have to be careful not to hunt them by mistake with boars and wild boars. On the porn side? A mausoleum festival by oak? I don't know that! Or it's like there's usually some female orcs, so you don't get lust for other sub people, maybe.

Lizard man. Lizard man. His body shape is close to that of a human, but he is lizard from the neck to the top, and his tail grows. Do you live in many different places, near wetlands and lakes? I wonder where the Lizardman who came to Zvand came from. Though these guys interact with humans, they don't seem to be frequent. Life is hunting after all.

Let's go one after the other. It's Kobold. I guess it's a fantasy, too. He looks different. Sometimes it's supposedly ugly fairy, sometimes it's a dog head with scales and horns, and sometimes it's literally a dog head beast system. You look like a dog person in GAO. Small, full-body fuzzy. If you are not recognized as an enemy, you will become a chemist player coveted target alongside the Beast Man. He's not very physically capable, but his fingertips are clever and his nose seems to be good. Then there seems to be something rarely farmed for the other sub-people. The main habitat looks like it's in the woods.

Finally, mermaids. This is exactly what we have in mind as mermaids. Men and women have fish in their lower bodies. They basically don't seem to go out of their own realm. Doesn't seem like there's any human interaction. Instead, he seems to go out from the human side and do something like a deal.

Hmm, you could confirm a good number of subpeople. However, it seems difficult to actually interact with these. First, they have a unique language. The only exception in this is the Beast Man, who seems to use a common language. People who come to the realm of humans often remember the common language, but even elves and dwarves don't seem to make sense when they can't talk. I guess Lizardman during this time is a peculiar example.

If the common language doesn't make sense, I'll have to learn their language, but there's nothing in the subhuman language that I'm qualified for so far. And linguistic skills have troublesome things to do. The general skills gradually increase in level by using them, and when the constant level is exceeded, the SP can be obtained. Language-based skills, however, do not exist. Until then when you have completed it. There is no impediment to the use of the skills themselves, but not growing also means not getting a subsequent SP. It's a tough skill to acquire at the beginning. There is also the question of whether it is necessary to acquire a language for a species that is unclear whether it will have the opportunity to encounter it in the future until the SP is consumed. I have trouble not being able to have a conversation when we meet, but how about I get it done in preparation for it... I don't know how to get it done in the first place and it's on hold...

Well, let's get back to the subhuman. There is no such statement about their place of residence. Well, the Beast Man has a nation. Fine, places like the Elf Forest or the Dwarf Mine, they probably exist, but they're not in this book. There may be some in other books though. I'd like to go sometime, so let's just collect information in the future.

Relationships between humans and subhumans don't seem bad. Do you have AC or do you feel non-interference? You don't seem to have the fact that you're in contention.

When it comes to subhumans being unfriendly with each other, this doesn't seem obvious either. It's quite a classic that elves and dwarves don't get along, but they're different in GAO. Neither does Goblin, Oak, or Kobold seem to have a particularly upward or downward relationship, nor does it look like they're confused with other races.

You're the Beast Man I was worried about. I mean, the Holy Spirit and the descendants of man, but what is the Holy Spirit? You're not like spirits...... check it out.

Now, is this going to have confirmed the whole subhuman thing? The book I just read is 1, so I'll see if there's a continuation, but it's not on the bookshelf after 2. Some of the Fantasy World Classic races remain unconfirmed, but they may be listed that way. Let's deal with it carefully when it comes out.

Well, why don't you read another book? Take a seat and return the book to the subhuman relationship bookshelf. My consciousness turned to the bookshelf next door in an attempt to find out if there would be any other books on subhuman relations. To the man there, to be exact.

Brown short hair with leather armor. The man, who looks like a mid twenties with glasses, pulls the books out of the next bookshelf, or language-related bookshelf, one after the other. The title that appeared on the back cover was "First Orc." Not only that, but Kobold in Lizardman...

"Roots..."

A man looked at me to see if I heard that where I accidentally leaked it. The moment stops.

"Oh, hey, do you want to use it?

The man looks at the book he holds beside him and asks.

"No, I'm not going to do this right away, but it's a great momentum," he said.

"haha, shame on you"

To give his honest thoughts, the man scratched his head with his free right hand with a bitter laugh.

But it's all about language. I wonder what the hell drives him that far.

"Why all the linguistic relationships again?

Can't beat curiosity, ask. Then,

"Don't you think language is mandatory for intercultural exchanges?

And I'll give it back.

"I don't mind if we go through it in a common language, but I don't mind not being able to have conversations with other races in the future. Besides, if we can talk about it, we can avoid useless disputes, and maybe we can get useful information."

"I can understand that..."

"Yeah, it's not bad for the future to learn multiple language skills from within the present without knowing when to use them, is it? So I thought I'd take it to a state where I could learn it."

Clouding the words, the man said to supplement, Did you perceive ahead? Mm-hmm. Condition of acquirability?

"Hit it, and make it profitable?

"Yeah. The books around here are dictionaries. Common language and separate language, though. By loading all of this, you'll be enrolled in the Language Skills List as a language you can acquire."

Is it like an English dictionary? Do I have to load them all? You're going to be distracted by something...

"If you keep it convincing, you just have to convincing it when you need it. Of course, I'll have to make room for SP to do that."

"Do you already have a language you remember?

"Yeah, I've already learned Goblin. The other day, you went as far as to learn Elf."

What... does this guy even want to be an interpreter? What, goblin?

"Have you learned Goblin?

"Yeah, actually, you ran into me the other day when I got lost in the back of the woods near Zvand. It was hard not to get the word right."

hahaha laughing man. Dude, there was a goblin witness here... or should I go in and get lost even though there is a [world map]... maybe I was switching it off because the display itself can be switched on and off as well.

"You didn't attack often, did you?

"Yeah, I had a weapon and it was multiple, and I didn't raise my combat skills much, so I tried to escape thinking I wouldn't win a fight, because I talked to him somehow without attacking him"

Yeah, you could have calmed down because you didn't act hostile. Well, if you're an enemy, don't attack me without question.

"If I managed to complain about being lost in the way by gesturing, he told me which way to go. Well, the first bear attacked me on my way home, and I ended up back to death."

When I listen to you like this, you really goblins aren't enemies... uncomfortable, but this is GAO, I have to accept it.

"Well, that's why. There was a lot of confusion at the time, and I couldn't thank you enough, so I learned the language because I thought I'd visit next time. I don't know exactly where he is, but we'll figure it out."

And the man laughs. Somehow, he's a man in law. I hope the first bear doesn't attack me again.

But it's a language... Whatever the timing is, isn't it a bad idea to keep it convincing?

"Do you have a knack or something?

"I'm writing a dictionary, aren't I? It will take a while, but there are no leaks, so we're sure."

I knew you'd do the trick. If you think about making a copy of the recipe, is it just the difference between whether you have a lot of work to do?

Then for a little while, we talked. I tell him about it because he didn't seem to know about the Lizardman-related incident, and the man asks about the goblin. I finally got my consent to write Goblin sightings on the bulletin board.

The man walked straight to his seat. I guess I'll learn the next language from now on.

Well, I don't know what I'm gonna do... it's good to learn the language, but I don't have that much passion, and you're saying it's cut off the tempo... well, can the language be blurry?

Still, let's go to the big library for a while. The hunt is off.
