Chapter 522: Showing Strength
Apollo alone remained calm, showing no emotion; to him, the aura was nothing more than a breeze.
He sensed the aura of the first-order transcendent guy and found it nothing special. He seemed quite weak compared to most first-order transcendent on Rion. It made him frown a bit, but that’s it.
The transcendent also noticed this, and his eyes narrowed in surprise. He at first didn’t notice him, as he didn’t seem to have any presence at all. But now, seeing him calmly standing in the face of his transcendent level of aura, something was wrong.
Others also noticed this, and everyone looked at Apollo with a shocked expression. Although he didn’t have a strong aura, he didn’t have any aura that made them feel troubled.
"Who are you?" The late-stage eternal god who seemed to have a relationship with the stone dragon village asked, as he was a member of the village and knew everyone here, and it was the first time he had seen Apollo.
Apollo answered, "No one important."
"I simply arrived here by accident. I’m about to leave. So don’t worry."
"I have no intention of involving myself in whatever dispute is happening here."
He said calmly, as he didn’t really want to be part of any trouble in this unknown world. He had to find why he was sent here by the system and how he would be able to leave.
"Stop! You are not going anywhere." The traitor, a late-stage eternal god named Clark, immediately stopped Apollo. They made sure that the news here didn’t reach outside and even sealed the entire space around the village, so how could he let anyone leave?
Clark looked at the transcendent realm being, who seemed quite alert to Apollo’s presence and hadn’t said anything. "Senior Seth, we cannot let anyone leave, as Master clearly said to let anyone know about this discovery."
Hearing Clark’s words, the transcendent leader named Seth finally agreed and stopped hesitating, as his words were right. They cannot let any news leak about the treasure, as it will then become a very troublesome matter.
"Hm, nobody can leave!" He said with a powerful aura, and then the group surrounded the entire village.
"Old Man, give us the key!" Clark looked at the village chief and asked.
"Bastard, even if you kill me, I wouldn’t give that to a traitor who betrays their family and ancestors." The old chief didn’t budge and cursed Clark.
"Tch, still stubborn, hah. Then can you take responsibility for every life in the Stone Dragon village, those children whom you care for as your child and grandchild? If you didn’t give the key, they would be the ones paying with their lives for it, old man."
He threatened the village chief with a proud and evil grin like he was doing something great.
"Bastard! You dare!" The village chief screamed with anger and hate, with an intense killing intent, as he didn’t expect Clark to be this despicable to use the villagers’ lives even when he was born and raised here.
He had never imagined that Clark would sink this low. If he had known, he would have killed him the moment betrayal first appeared in his heart.
Apollo watched the entire drama calmly. He could guess what was going on, but what made him curious was actually the treasure they were trying to find.
He had searched the entire village carefully with his spiritual sense before, but he didn’t find anything. From their behavior, the treasure was within the village. Something that can deceive his supreme-level perception must be an extraordinary item.
So he calmly continued watching the drama unfold, hoping to learn more without lifting a finger.
Unfortunately... Some villains seemed determined to court death.
Clark slowly turned his head. His eyes landed directly on Apollo.
"Senior Seth, we should take care of him first," Clark said, looking at him with disgust and seeming to feel a bit proud for no reason.
Although Seth didn’t say anything, he also felt a bit uncomfortable with Apollo’s presence, but his thoughts were different; he wasn’t cocky, but deep within he was anxious. He had a feeling they had to take care of him; otherwise, they would be in trouble.
He nodded and commanded one of the four half-step transcendent among his people he brought.
The half-step transcendent didn’t waste words and then immediately attacked.
The man was a swordsman, and without saying a word, he drew his sword. A sharp sword aura burst into the sky. Then he slashed downward.
A massive sword beam tore through space and shot directly toward Apollo.
Clark looked with excitement, while everyone present felt it, and the people from the Stone Dragon village couldn’t help but sigh. Even the village chief felt pity seeing this youngster die.
Apollo, on the other hand, remained calm and shook his head; it seemed they really had a death wish. So, he, like a good person, would give them that.
He looked at the sword energy and felt disappointed, as this sword energy was nothing but flashy. His strength wasn’t good, nor was his understanding of swords.
From what he had seen, although the cultivation level in this world was high, their foundation was weak, making their fighting strength quite ordinary.
With a casual flick, he released a tiny strand of sword energy no larger than a fingernail.
Boom!
The enormous sword slash instantly shattered into countless fragments before it could even reach Apollo.
But that wasn’t the end. Apollo’s tiny sword energy continued forward without losing any momentum.
It pierced through space itself.
Before the swordsman could react—or even realise what had happened—the tiny sword energy pierced straight through his forehead.
Bang!
His body froze in place, and a small hole appeared between his brows. The light in his eyes faded instantly, and his body crashed heavily onto the ground.
Dead.
The entire Stone Dragon Village immediately became silent. Nobody could believe what just happened or dared to utter any words. For a moment, everyone seemed to have become a stone statue; even the transcendent realm Seth was unable to comprehend what he just saw.
