Chapter 523: Ancient Box
Clark, seeing this, couldn’t believe his eyes and almost shitted himself in fear. The entire atmosphere of the Stone Dragon Village changed completely.
The stone dragon villagers snapped out of their shock and grew excited at the sight of hope. They might not have to die today.
The transcendent warrior Seth’s face was grave, and he couldn’t ask, "Who are you? There shouldn’t be anyone like you in this forsaken corner."
The Stone Dragon Village was just a wasted corner without any powerful clans or sects. This was practically a wild land where only some weak stayed, but now suddenly he met someone incomprehensible like Apollo.
Apollo remained calm and said with a smile, "Didn’t I just say I accidentally appeared here?"
"And truthfully, I usually didn’t bother with others’ matters, but guys have forced things on me. So sadly for you guys, as I usually do things cleanly, leaving any trouble behind, since you dared to make a move on me, you all needed to prepare for consequences."
"Also, don’t worry, it would be painless; you all wouldn’t know or feel anything." And then he just punched in the air without giving them time to say or think anything.
Boom!
The punch seemed simple, and yet it seemed to contain unknown and terrifying power that seemed to change heaven and earth.
The forty or so people didn’t have a chance to figure out anything as they seemed to turn into dust. Even in dreams, they wouldn’t have expected this to be the last day for them.
Only the two people remained; one was the Seth in the transcendent realm, and the other was supposedly the traitor Clark.
At that moment, everyone was too stunned to speak; seeing Apollo killing a half-step transcendent was one thing, but seeing the annihilation of an entire group filled with eternal gods and three half-step transcendent was too unbelievable for them.
Clark was trembling in fear as he found it difficult to even stand straight, whereas Seth, as a transcendent realm being, was calmer, but deep inside he was also shitting his mind trying to see through Apollo.
But nothing could be seen; he can only try to send a message back, but he suddenly remembered he himself sealed the entire Stone Dragon Village using a sealing rune. And now, because of this, he cannot even send out the news at all.
His face twitched, as it could be called digging one’s own grave. He was sure he wasn’t Apollo’s opponent, seeing how effortlessly he defeated everyone else. Heck, he didn’t even see both attacks coming and would have the same result as everyone else.
"Okay, now tell me why you came here and what kind of treasure is hidden here." Apollo then calmly, with a smile, asked, looking at Clark like killing dozens of people was nothing.
Clark, hearing this, his face became more pale in fright as Apollo’s smile seemed to be a grin from death itself.
Clark lowered his head, trembling so badly that he couldn’t even look at him. This irritated Apollo.
"Are you going to talk or not?"
"Otherwise, your life won’t be worth saving."
"No, I am talking... I am talking." Seeing Apollo getting angry, Clark immediately started talking.
"The treasure hidden here is a legacy of the powerful Stone Dragon that was said to be born at the beginning of the universe." As he said that, he looked at the village chief, who remained silent the entire time.
He was surprised to hear this and glanced at the Village Chief, who, after sighing for a moment, said, "Yes, that’s right. The Stone Dragon Village truly possesses the legacy of Stone Dragon, which we have guarded for ages."
The village chief said calmly without hesitation, as since the news had already leaked, it didn’t matter anymore.
Today, Clark had brought these people here, which meant the power behind him already knew about the legacy. Even if Apollo killed them all, that force would eventually return with an even more terrifying force.
The treasure had become a hot potato.
The village chief looked toward Apollo. Instead of keeping the legacy hidden, it might be better to let Apollo find it first.
At least, from what he had seen, Apollo didn’t seem like an ungrateful or malicious person.
Perhaps this incomprehensible young man could even save Stone Dragon Village from the disaster that was coming.
He then, without saying anything more, went back to his place and came out in a moment with a small, ancient-looking box.
"This box is said to contain the key to the legacy, but I didn’t know how to open it." The village chief said as he gave the ancient box to Apollo.
Apollo took the ancient box and looked through it carefully and even used his spiritual sense to see through it, but the moment his spiritual power touched it, it seemed to disappear like it was devouring his spiritual sense.
His eyes furrowed as he tried different means and even used his raw strength to forcefully open it, but it seemed to not budge at all. He couldn’t even tell what kind of ridiculous material it was made of and couldn’t help but ask the village chief, "Do you really not know how to open it?"
The village chief could only shake his head. "I really didn’t know. I only know every village head just needed to guard the ancient box and nothing else."
Apollo felt troubled. What should he do with it if he couldn’t open it? Then he suddenly had an idea. He then, from his storage ring, takes out the piece of Crystal Blood Stones.
If this was truly the legacy of the Primordial Stone Dragon, perhaps the box required draconic energy—or some kind of dragon bloodline—to open.
And the Crystal Blood Stone had been formed from the remains of a powerful dragon.
Perhaps... It could be the key to open this ancient box.
And without waiting any moment, he used his strength to turn the Crystal Blood Stones into pure blood energy and carefully used it on the ancient box.
The ancient box remained silent like nothing, and as he thought, it failed.
Boom!
