A young man standing on a wooden plank appeared ahead of the continent. He was trying to move away from the parasitic worm, but his speed across the liquid wasn’t very fast.
The parasitic worm didn’t respond; it simply kept accelerating.
The young man had no choice but to increase his speed as well. He had been hiding nearby, watching the fight, and knew full well that dealing with the parasitic worm wouldn’t be easy.
Before long, the continent carrying the parasitic worm overtook him. The young man didn’t choose to engage but instead turned to face the biomechanical suit behind him.
“Why don’t we pull in more Quasi-Gods from other factions before making a move? You don’t want to let the others take advantage, do you?”
The biomechanical suit let out a low, guttural roar.
“No matter how many Quasi-Gods we drag in, that continent won’t stop until it devours one. So why not just deal with you right now?”
If he had a choice, the young man wouldn’t want to fight now either, but he was probably the slowest one here. If he waited until all the Quasi-Gods got dragged in, he’d be the most likely target, since each continent only needed to fuse with one creature of the same level.

The young man didn’t hesitate and unleashed a full-powered strike at the biomechanical suit. He only had one chance—if it didn’t work and the suit slipped past him, he might never catch up to another Quasi-God again.

The young man’s strike shattered the biomechanical suit into pieces. A figure shot out from inside the suit and wrapped itself around him.
It was a humanoid beast reduced to nothing but epidermis. That skin began absorbing the young man’s power, swelling back to fullness.
It took the young man some time to break free from the skin’s grasp. After being absorbed by it, his body had shriveled noticeably.
The skin didn’t let him go; it started a close-quarters fight with the young man. Behind him, the shattered pieces recombined into a new biomechanical suit.
The suit didn’t join the fight. Instead, it put as much distance as possible between itself and the giant continent.
The young man broke free, tearing the skin apart and tossing the pieces into the liquid, but by then the suit had already gained ground. There was no way he could catch up now, and no matter which direction he turned, no Quasi-God would ever end up behind him again.
“I’d rather dissolve into this liquid than get devoured by that continent! Go play among yourselves!”
The young man suddenly abandoned the wooden plank and started running across the liquid’s surface. The giant continent was right behind him—this was his last resort.
Several attacks struck him from all directions, pinning him in place, leaving him unable even to dodge.
Those attacks didn’t cause much damage; they just knocked him onto the giant continent.
But once he landed on the giant continent, the young man’s face showed nothing but despair. Without being able to put up any resistance, he melted into the landmass, becoming part of the giant continent.
An ordinary-looking door appeared at the spot where the young man had vanished. Several figures emerged at the maximum safe distance from the giant continent, riding various vehicles and speeding toward it as fast as possible.
“What are you all going in there for?”
Lin Ye followed behind the biomechanical suit, asking with some curiosity.
The biomechanical suit completely ignored him, simply accelerating toward the giant continent.
“Aren’t you afraid I’ll just stay outside and head straight back to the Shelter?”
