Global Survival: I Have Endless Skeletons

Chapter 496: Their King Joining the Battle.

"Where is that damned Necromancer?!" the Scorpion King paced back and forth, searching for the Necromancer.

With each passing second, he watched as his clansmen died in droves. Their miserable screams echoed continuously throughout the palace.

His rage boiled like an inferno.

Many times, he wanted to jump down and join the battle himself.

Standing atop the highest building in the palace, he overlooked the battlefield and witnessed the brutality of the war unfolding beneath him.

’When was the last time my mighty Scorpion Clan experienced this?’ he thought as the bitterness in his heart deepened.

For as long as he could remember, no person or clan had ever set foot inside their palace.

Not even their palace.

Not even their city.

The closest their enemies had ever come was breaching the city gate, but even then, they had immediately been stopped by their valiant army.

But now, the battle had been brought deep into his palace.

How could he accept this?

Until he found the human behind this, he would neither rest nor sleep.

He would comb through the entire Bleeding Desert and make them regret this atrocity for the rest of their lives.

While he was seething with rage, he watched his Elders being hunted down one after another with perfect coordination.

At first, he thought it was merely a lucky attack.

Then came the second.

Then the third.

"How can I accept this?!" he roared, shaking his head as killing intent erupted from his body.

Without another moment of hesitation, he leaped off the roof.

Bang!

He landed heavily upon the stone ground as a massive cloud of dust rose into the sky.

Deep footprints appeared beneath his feet, revealing the terrifying strength hidden within his body.

Whoosh!

In the blink of an eye, he vanished from his position, becoming nothing more than a blur.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

With every punch the Scorpion King threw, undead soldiers were blasted through the air.

Their heads exploded into pieces upon impact.

No undead could survive a single strike.

His overwhelming strength instantly carved a bloody path through the battlefield.

The advancing undead formation was forcefully torn apart by his unstoppable strike.

In the various corners of the palace, when the Elders saw their King personally joining the battle, they could not help but breathe a sigh of relief.

Most of them were already on the verge of collapse, barely hanging on against the relentless undead assault.

But now, their courage returned.

The morale of the Scorpion Clan’s Elders immediately surged as they launched desperate counterattacks.

While the Scorpion Elders regained their confidence, standing atop the roof of another building, Thoren watched the battle with a detached expression.

Not a single ripple appeared on his calm face despite witnessing the Scorpion King’s overwhelming display of strength.

Standing beside him was the Level 37 Undead Illusionist.

The reason the King had failed to detect him was because both of them were concealed beneath a powerful illusion.

Originally, the illusion cast by a Level 37 Illusionist should never have escaped the Scorpion King’s powerful mental perception.

However, under the cover of Thoren’s awakened soul, the illusion had been elevated to an entirely different level.

The two blended perfectly with their surroundings.

Even the Scorpion King’s repeated mental searches swept past them without discovering the slightest trace of their existence.

Watching the King rampage through his undead army, the corners of Thoren’s lips slowly curved upward.

"So... you’ve finally made your move."

His calm voice was almost inaudible beneath the deafening sounds of the battlefield.

That was exactly what he had been waiting for.

"Let the next plan begin..."

Like a frog inside boiling water, he planned to increase the temperature gradually until it was finally cooked.

And that was his plan.

Without their King joining the battle, it was impossible for the battle to enter its final stage while also making it impossible for his plan to be completed.

But now, the remaining piece of the puzzle was finally in place.

On the ground, almost all the buildings inside the palace had been destroyed.

Blood splattered across the ground.

The corpses of maids, servants, and guards were scattered everywhere.

Most of the corpses were incomplete. Some were missing their heads, while others were missing their legs or limbs.

It was brutal and savage.

Although, with the addition of the King, it seemed the battle had tilted in favor of the Scorpion Clan, it had not.

Thoren slowly pushed the ordinary weaker undead soldiers between Levels 33 and 35 to surround and overwhelm the King.

At the same time, he directed his elite undead to finish off all the Elders in one clean sweep.

In another corner of the palace, the Old Elder was fighting with all his strength, using his cane as a weapon.

He struck decisively, sending every undead servant that came near him flying.

His movements were swift despite his age, and every strike carried astonishing force.

But his age was catching up to him.

Every attack took a toll on his body, and looking at the never-ending march of the undead, fear and panic slowly began to rise within his heart.

’Is this the end of my Scorpion Clan?’

’Were we wrong to never allow others access to the Ancient Archive?’

’But the Ancient Archive belongs to my Scorpion Clan. How could we allow others to access it for free?’

His thoughts were in complete disarray.

As a wise old Scorpion Elder, he, of course, knew the root of their problem.

They sat upon an enormous mountain of knowledge without allowing others to learn, study, or grow from it.

How could that not invoke the ire of others?

But because of their terrifying strength, no one had ever dared confront them.

Not until now.

Bang!

With another powerful swing of his cane, another ordinary undead servant was blasted backward, crashing through a nearby stone wall before collapsing beneath the rubble.

Huh! Huh!

The Old Elder gasped heavily for breath, his chest rising and falling violently. Sweat drenched his aged face as his grip around the cane gradually tightened.

Just as he caught his breath, he heard heavy footsteps rapidly approaching him.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Raising his head, his eyes widened. Before him stood an elite undead wielding a massive war hammer.

The creature’s hollow eye sockets burned with eerie pale soul fire, making the Old Elder’s heart skip a beat.

Whoosh!

Without the slightest hesitation, the undead leaped into the air. Its enormous hammer rose high above its head before descending like heavenly judgment.

’Chain Combo.’

Boom!
