Global Survival: I Have Endless Skeletons

Chapter 489: The Scorpion King Palace in Chaos. (Bonus Chapter)

Boom!

The Palace Captain and the guards stumbled backward under the powerful shockwave that destroyed the sacred ground gate. The violent explosion sent countless fragments of stone flying in every direction.

"What in the Three Moons..."

"Enemy attack."

"Defend!" the Palace Captain shouted, unsheathing his saber.

His voice echoed loudly throughout the surrounding area, instantly snapping every guard out of their shock.

His expression was grim and grave. His sharp eyes remained fixed on the destroyed entrance as countless thoughts flashed through his mind.

Listening to their captain, the guards scrambled quickly to form a defensive formation.

Each guard was terror stricken, their hearts pounding heavily against their chests as cold sweat slowly gathered across their foreheads.

From the debris of the gate, two massive undead servants came out. Their imposing presence made all the guards suck in a cold breath as an overwhelming sense of oppression descended upon them.

"H...How..."

All the Palace Guards widened their eyes with disbelief. They knew the two undead figures before them better than anyone else.

They were the pride of the Scorpion Clan, and now they were attacking the king’s sacred ground. Such a scene completely overturned everything they believed possible.

Before the guards even wrapped their heads around what was going on, the Undead Kharv and the Undead General turned their deep hollow sockets in their direction.

Their movements were slow, yet every motion carried an indescribable pressure.

Their sockets, burning with pale eerie soul fire, sent a shiver down their spines. It felt as though two terrifying monsters from the underworld had locked onto their prey.

Whoosh!

’Danger!’

Every nerve in the Palace Captain’s body screamed of impending danger.

As a Level 37 Scorpion Man, his instincts were far stronger than the others, allowing him to sense the overwhelming threat before him.

Thus, he could feel the horror of what was about to happen.

Quickly, he raised his saber to defend. Unfortunately, the two sides were not on the same dimension at all, and the difference in strength was simply too overwhelming.

Bang!

Ahhhhh!

The massive axe of the Undead Kharv split the Palace Captain’s saber into two before slamming directly into his chest with unstoppable momentum.

The tremendous impact echoed throughout the area like thunder.

His crudely made steel armor and his sturdy scales were cleaved into two separate parts. Blood immediately burst outward as his body bent unnaturally under the terrifying strike.

Thud!

Without stopping, waiting, or thinking, the Undead Kharv swung the other side of his axe in a wide arc. The movement flowed naturally into the next attack without wasting even a fraction of a second.

Bang! Bang!

Ahhh! Ahhh!

Several Palace Guards failed to react before the gigantic axe tore through their bodies.

Broken armor, shattered weapons, severed limbs, and fresh blood were sent flying through the air as if they weighed nothing.

In less than ten seconds, all the elite guards guarding the sacred ground were cut into pieces, their bodies scattered in all directions.

As for the Undead General, he merely stood at the side like an immovable marshal. Its burning soul fire quietly observed the battlefield, never once needing to lift its massive saber.

With the guards taken out, more undead servants marched out of the broken gate in neat and orderly formation.

Their synchronized footsteps continuously echoed throughout the palace grounds as their endless ranks slowly emerged from the sacred ground.

Even though the battle was swift and decisive, the sound could not escape the guards stationed inside the palace.

The thunderous explosions, miserable screams, and collapsing stone walls immediately alerted everyone nearby.

"Quick, move."

"We need to find out what is going on!"

Urgent movements echoed throughout the palace as guards rushed toward the sacred ground.

Although they did not know what was going on, the sound of battle was enough to tell everyone that the usually quiet and serene sacred ground was in danger.

On the left part of the palace, a small crude house stood with a narrow path around it.

The path was barely wide enough for several guards to run side by side as they hurried toward the sacred ground.

From the bend, a group of guards raced forward, urging themselves to reach the sacred ground as quickly as possible when a powerful force slammed into the leading guard.

The attack came so suddenly that none of them even saw it coming.

Ahhhh!

His head exploded into shards of gory blood and brain matter. Crashing to the ground, he died on the spot.

Frozen and scared.

The guards halted in their tracks and stared at the figures before them. Their expressions immediately turned pale as fear silently crept into their hearts.

Dozens of undead servants marched toward them in large strides. Their orderly formation and emotionless hollow sockets made them look like an army from the underworld.

"Fight!" one of the guards screamed.

Even though fear gripped his heart, he still raised his weapon and charged forward.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The sound of battle raged inside the palace, with the miserable screams of Palace Guards falling in droves.

Blood splattered across the stone pathway as bodies collapsed one after another.

On the central path of the palace, the major route usually taken by the king and the elders was being paraded by the two Level 39 undead servants.

Their heavy footsteps echoed steadily as they advanced without slowing down.

Before them, dozens of guards rushed forward toward them, swinging their weapons. They desperately hoped their numbers would be enough to stop the terrifying invaders.

But before the two mighty undead servants, their bodies were cut apart, split cleanly into two.

No suspense.

No story.

Death.

Like gods of death, the two undead marched forward uninterrupted. Every swing of their massive weapons harvested another life with brutal efficiency.

As for any stray guards that wanted to try their luck, they were sent to meet King Yama. None survived longer than a single exchange.

Now, terror had spread throughout the palace. The once orderly palace had descended into complete chaos as fear consumed them.

Maids and servants were scrambling for their dear lives, screaming.

Their frightened cries echoed throughout every corridor as they desperately searched for somewhere safe to hide.

But where could they go? Everywhere the undead army passed, death followed.

Inside the king’s hall, the king and the elders were finalizing how to handle the humans when the door to the hall was slammed open with tremendous force.

"My... King... Attack..." a Palace Guard shouted before falling to the ground covered in blood.
