Global Survival: I Have Endless Skeletons

Chapter 506: The Colossal Black Scorpion

Huh!

A sharp breath escaped from Thoren as he realized just how deep the hole was.

Without the undead Greater Dune Scorpion, it would have been almost impossible for him to descend to his current depth inside the hole.

According to his estimation, he was already more than five hundred meters below the surface.

Yet, the end of the hole was still nowhere in sight.

"How much longer? If you don’t give me the right answer, I will turn back immediately."

He was no fool who would blindly follow the voice of an unknown entity into a place he knew nothing about.

If he did not have two Level 40 undead servants under his control, he would never have dared to venture on such a dangerous journey.

Those two Level 40 undead servants were his greatest source of confidence, along with his Level 38 and Level 39 undead servants.

No matter what the enemy’s plan was, he did not believe they could withstand the combined strength of his mighty undead army.

"Your courage is commendable. You’re almost there. You should see a cave entrance on your left."

Thoren grunted and urged his undead mount to move faster.

Staying inside the hole without any light for so long had begun to irritate him.

The darkness surrounding him seemed endless, while the only thing guiding him forward was the ancient female voice echoing through his mind.

Ten minutes later, he finally saw the massive cave entrance and immediately commanded the undead Greater Dune Scorpion to enter.

As for the end of the hole, it was still nowhere in sight.

From the powerful gusts of wind coming from below, he believed the hole was deeper than one thousand meters.

Shaking his head, he decided not to waste his thoughts on such useless matters and instead focused his attention on the massive cave tunnel surrounding him.

An ordinary human might have found it difficult to see in such darkness, but to him, the darkness did not pose a problem at all.

While riding his mount, he saw that the cave tunnel was covered in cracks and claw marks.

Some of the marks were incredibly deep, as if something enormous had once crawled through the tunnel and carved its path directly into the stone.

The air inside was pure and surprisingly easy to breathe.

Apart from that, he could feel that the mana inside the tunnel was far purer than outside, and its density was also significantly higher.

The discovery immediately made Thoren more cautious.

A place capable of naturally gathering such dense and pure mana was unlikely to be ordinary.

Following the tunnel, he traveled for five minutes before his perception suddenly caught a presence that made his heart skip a beat.

His muscles stiffened.

And instantly, a bead of sweat dropped down from his forehead, while his hand trembled slightly.

Ten meters ahead of him, everything was dark beyond measure. It was as if the darkness in that region was entirely different from the darkness surrounding him.

His eyes failed to see through it, but through his perception, he felt it.

Not saw it.

Felt it.

It was as if he were standing before a colossal beast of unimaginable power that was preparing to devour him whole.

Every alarm rang in his mind.

’Move!’

’Move!’

He screamed in his mind for his body to move, but his body failed to respond.

Every fiber of his being was shaking and trembling vehemently under the invisible pressure.

Worst of all, he realized that his thoughts were becoming slower and slower with each passing second.

His head became dizzy.

His mind became fuzzy.

The terrifying pressure was not merely suppressing his body. It was affecting his very consciousness, making it increasingly difficult for him to think clearly.

’What the hell is this...?’

For the first time in a long while, genuine fear appeared within Thoren’s heart.

[Awakened Soul]

[Soul Lantern of Eternal Crypt]

He unleashed his two strongest aces all at once.

And in that moment, a thunderous sound echoed throughout the tunnel.

Boom!

It was as if two invisible forces had collided.

The entire tunnel trembled violently, causing countless pieces of debris to fall from above. Dust filled the air as cracks spread across the surrounding stone walls.

But that was not all.

The appearance of the floating illusory lantern immediately changed the rules of the game.

The darkness that seemed to devour everything around it receded as quickly as possible, as if it were fleeing from its worst nemesis.

At the same time, the terrifying mental pressure weighing down on Thoren greatly diminished.

His erratic breathing slowly returned to normal.

His trembling body gradually steadied.

His thoughts, which had almost completely frozen beneath the terrifying pressure, began moving again.

Thoren clenched his fists.

He had never expected to encounter such an existence beneath Scorpion City.

"How is this possible?"

An ancient female voice echoed throughout the cavern.

The moment her voice sounded, the ground trembled violently, and sharp winds howled through the tunnel.

Raising his head, Thoren stared at the being before him.

There, he finally saw it.

A colossal black scorpion sat silently within the darkness.

It sat close to eight meters in height, while its enormous body stretched for more than twelve meters.

Its carapace was not smooth like that of an ordinary scorpion. Instead, countless natural ridges and overlapping plates covered its body.

Eight enormous legs supported its massive body, each one thick and powerful enough to resemble a stone pillar.

Behind her body was an enormous tail that curled slightly across the cavern floor. At the end, where a massive stinger rested like a deadly spear.

Around the scorpion, the space trembled vehemently as though it were on the verge of shattering.

The terrifying distortion surrounding its massive body made the creature appear almost unreal, as if it did not completely belong to the same world as Thoren.

Its massive, orb-like eyes were large enough to eclipse Thoren’s entire body.

Those ancient eyes stared directly at him.

There was no hostility within them.

There was no killing intent.

Yet that made the creature even more terrifying.

It was the complete indifference of something that possessed enough power to destroy him without needing to exert itself.

"Human kid, you surprised me."
