Global Survival: I Have Endless Skeletons

Chapter 505: Descend into the Darkness

"Human, why don’t you stop now? You have achieved your goal, right?"

Hmm?

Listening to the ancient female voice inside his mind, Thoren widened his eyes and shivered.

The sudden voice caught him completely off guard, especially because he could not determine where it had come from.

He looked around frantically, searching for the source of the voice while his perception spread rapidly through the surrounding ruins.

"Who are you? Come out!" he shouted, pushing his perception to the limit.

For the first time, he was truly terrified.

If his enemy could easily project their voice directly into his mind, that alone showed how powerful they were.

More importantly, the mysterious existence had managed to communicate with him without revealing her location.

Worse, he could not find where she was.

While he was standing in the open, his enemy remained hidden in the darkness, watching his every action like a hunter locked onto its prey.

The realization made Thoren’s expression become solemn.

When he did not hear the voice speak again, Thoren took a deep breath to calm his erratic breathing.

’Panicking wouldn’t solve this...’

He thought and slowly returned to his usual calmness.

"If you’re not going to reveal yourself, then don’t disturb me. We have nothing to discuss."

He said calmly in his mind, refusing to allow the strange voice to control his emotions.

Deep within the underground cavern, the ancient scorpion had traces of shock flickering across her eyes.

Many would have been scared senseless after suddenly hearing an unfamiliar voice inside their minds. Yet this human had stunned her with his remarkably quick recovery and composure.

"I mean no harm. Human child, why don’t you tell me what you want, and we can stop this bloodshed once and for all?"

Listening to the voice, Thoren did not panic, maintaining his composure despite the mysterious existence’s overwhelming presence.

"How can I have a conversation with you if I cannot see you or even know who you are?"

"What type of conversation is that?"

"If you’re genuine about stopping this battle, show yourself."

His tone remained firm, showing that he was neither intimidated nor frightened by the ability of the strange voice to project directly into his mind.

For a moment, there was no reply.

But Thoren did not care.

Instead, he began issuing commands to his undead servants through their mental link, ordering them to begin securing the battlefield while he dealt with the aftermath of the battle.

He jumped down from the roof and walked toward the fallen Scorpion King, his attention shifting toward the corpse that had once belonged to the ruler of the Scorpion Clan.

Just then, he heard the female voice once again inside his mind.

"Alright. If you want to see me, I’ll direct you to my home."

Thoren did not react.

He continued walking toward the fallen Scorpion King, maintaining his calm expression as his eyes remained focused on the corpse.

Looking at his corpse, Thoren had a faint smile creep up his lips.

[Undead Summoning]

[Bone Manipulation]

Instantly, a surge of undead energy came out of the ground and entered the corpse.

The dead body of the Scorpion King twitched, and then the broken bones began to move as if they were alive, slowly returning to their original positions.

Crack! Crack!

The sound of bones snapping back into place echoed through the ruined palace as the corpse gradually began to recover from its previous state.

Slowly, the still body of the Scorpion King began to come alive. His hollow, lifeless eyes suddenly burned with eerie soul fire.

And then, he rose from the ground, standing gallantly in front of his master.

Looking at his newly added undead soldier, Thoren couldn’t help but chuckle.

Adding the Scorpion King to his undead legion truly pleased him. After all, this was a Level 40 powerhouse who had ruled one of the strongest clans on the Bleeding Desert.

His eyes shifted to the undead Horn Lizard King by his side, and he nodded.

Now, his preparations for the third floor were complete.

No matter what the third floor threw at him, he had nothing to fear.

With the Scorpion King becoming his undead servant, Thoren turned toward the exit of the ruins.

"Lead the way..." he said in his mind.

Instantly, the female voice began to guide him through Scorpion City.

With all the Scorpion Clansmen hiding inside their homes, the entire city had turned into a silent graveyard.

Thoren and his undead were the only figures seen on the massive, wide road.

Their footsteps echoed through the empty streets, creating an eerie rhythm that seemed strangely loud within the otherwise silent city.

To his shock, the voice directed him toward a path beside the now-destroyed Scorpion Palace. The further he followed the path, the more confused and shocked he became.

Fewer and fewer Scorpion houses could be seen along the road.

When he reached a certain point, there were no houses at all, only a barren stone plain stretching before him.

’Who would have thought such a plain existed inside Scorpion City?’

He thought as he continued following the voice’s directions.

The further he traveled, the more isolated the surroundings became, until even the sounds of the city disappeared completely behind him.

Finally, he arrived before a massive, wide hole whose bottom could not be seen.

Strong desert winds howled inside the hole, creating a deep and terrifying sound that echoed from within the darkness.

The sight alone was enough to make an ordinary person hesitate.

"You can return if you’re scared."

The female voice sounded almost as if she were teasing him.

Thoren did not respond.

Instead, he summoned an undead Greater Dune Scorpion.

The massive undead scorpion emerged from the undead space; its enormous body stood gallantly on the hardened ground.

Thoren jumped onto its back and commanded it without hesitation.

"Descend!"

The Greater Dune Scorpion immediately moved toward the edge of the massive hole before descending into the darkness.

While others might have been scared or terrified by such an unknown underground passage, Thoren had no reason to fear.

With two Level 40 undead servants under his control, he had nothing to fear.
