Golden Experience

Lesson 1: Rare

New calendar year 12. Humanity was more focused on escaping from the shackle of flesh before being freed from the shackle of Earth's gravity.

Developments in Virtual Reality technology.

The technology that was once defined as a virtual reality and still bears its name has now advanced to an area that is not an exaggeration to say another reality.

Entertainment, including health care, was utilized in all fields, as well as in the fields of education, various infrastructure projects, manufacturing, services, civil engineering, architecture, real estate, finance… and was contributing to society.

Many salariers go to work in a company house in the VR space. There, clerical work and meetings are carried out, and manufacturing operations also manage and operate the plant robots from the VR.

Money exchanges are also made through VR using Internet banking and cryptocurrencies, and signatures and stamps at the time of various contracts are also in VR. I can also go straight to the VR casino with that foot I got the loan from.

If you go to a giant mart on VR to shop for dinner, you can also see fresh food for your hands. Of course, the products in the warehouse are reproduced without dimension by the latest full-scan technology.

Items purchased are wrapped instantly and delivered to your home through an underground transport network, less than an hour away.

Food reaching Mart's warehouse grows on large farms. Looking at the state of the field, which is fully reproduced in the VR space, an agricultural engineer gives instructions to the robot, who plows the field, waters it and harvests it as it does.

Watching sports is also a VR.

Each and every pitch of the players playing in the stadium is scanned in real time and can be enjoyed from any angle you like in VR space.

If you want to get excited with your fellow supporters, you can also create a dedicated room to watch the game there. You can also go to public spaces and mingle with strangers about their team.

If you're not feeling well, you should go to the VR clinic. Your condition is always scanned by VR equipment and real-time status is delivered to your doctor.

Visit face-to-face and arrive at home within that day if the medicine is prescribed.

If you have serious symptoms that will not be resolved during an inquiry, you need to get to a medical facility right away. However, there is no doctor there. If you lay in a dedicated bed as directed by a medical technician, a medical robot will treat you. Of course, as treated in VR space by a qualified doctor.

Virtual reality is another reality.

Of course it also means that the VR space has come close to reality.

But at the same time, it's a word that has come to be said because the real world is getting closer to VR.

"Boot hour, shot curse."

Another new game was announced in such a modern era.

It's not particularly novel, it's an orthodox fantasy-based MMORPG, but it's a new manufacturer that has produced numerous million-titles to the world so far. Fans and the industry have high expectations.

We did some closed alpha tests, closed beta tests, and finally we had a largely open beta test announcement.

This open beta, of course, has the role of the final test, but in fact most of the problems and bugs have been crushed in previous tests, which has a strong early-access connotation. It is publicly announced that the same account is requested as the Service and that character data will also be migrated as is to the Service.

Although it is free until the start of the service because it takes a beta test, it is thought that there is a possibility of abrupt maintenance.

With open beta currently in place, only some of the game's specifications are widely available.

Previously, during the closed test, contracts were exchanged to avoid talking about the contents of the test, and shooting videos, screenshots, etc., were restricted by the system.

Nevertheless, no door could be set in a person's mouth, and the information about the specifications of the game was complicated by anonymous SNS and other information that made it unclear whether it was true or false.

In any case, the authenticity of the information is immediately clear.

- Looks like the basic specifications haven't changed since the time of the closed test.

Reminds me of the last test from the data displayed, whilst in character-create mode, through a dedicated window.

This game has no concept of level. Nor does it have a stereotypical concept of occupation.

Although there is no concept of level, EXP is present and grows by consuming acquired EXP to enhance the character's parameters or to make the character remember his special abilities as a skill.

This game was such a system.

This system has been in place since the time of the early character creation, and first the player is awarded 100 Experience Points.

There are seven species to choose from: Human, Elf, Dwarf, Beastman, Goblin, Skeleton, and Homuncrus.

Experience is consumed by the chosen species, no consumption, for example for humans, but 20 points for elves and 120 points for goblins on the contrary.

The increase in parameters varies between EXP 10 and 40 per point, and the acquisition of skills varies between EXP 10 and 40 in terms of what can be mastered now.

Until now, it's the same as it was during a closed test. As far as the difference in cost required to acquire each skill is concerned, the skill specifications will probably be the same.

Some of the skills had acquisition conditions set, so the skills shown now should not be all of them.

More concerned than that is the item of properties. This is a specification that was not available at the time of the closed test.

Apparently it reveals the congenital properties of the character, which had already been acquired automatically by the time he first fully scanned himself to create a provisional avatar.

When you look at help, it just seems to be an innate trait and basically an item that you might do when you create a character, just like a species. This also seemed to consume and reduce EXP, which had been reduced on its own by the characteristics acquired automatically.

Removing that characteristic would seem to restore experience, but that alone changed the appearance of the avatar a lot.

Congenital properties: Aesthetic

EXP Consumption: 20

You are beautiful by birth.

Positive correction (medium) to the liking from NPC.

- I think there was such a system in the antiques gamebook I saw at the VR library when...

XP 20 is a shame, but I also feel like I lost out messing with my appearance too, so I decided to leave it at that.

This game is not timed to level up, and on the system of consuming the experience gained to enhance the character, the work itself is basically ready to be done at any time.

This means that the experience points of 100 points awarded in this character creature can also be used at any time after the start of the game, even if they don't run out here and now. Although it's already less than 100 points.

Determine the race into an elf and consume another 20 points of experience.

And got "albinism" with properties.

Congenital properties: Albinism

EXP Consumption: -20

You are born with white hair, white skin and red eyes.

You get mild burns when you get prolonged sunlight.

* Burns...... Continued damage until healed according to severity

It is the result of an attempt to get the point across without looking as good as possible.

I decided that if I adjusted my life to allow longer login times during the night in the game, there would be no more disadvantages.

I knew during a closed test that the field's energies tended to be stronger at night due to game settings, but there was no significant difference in subjective sensations.

In addition, the elves were originally a faintly pigmented species, which became so noticeably more pronounced in appearance where it was albinism.

If we're going to do this far, I'd also like to redeem the 20 points that were deducted in the Elf's race choice, if possible.

Congenital characteristics: weak vision

Consumption Experience: -30

You have weak eyesight.

I can't aim far.

Negative correction (medium) for hitting and accuracy against mid-range goals.

Cannot be the target of an attack against a target above range.

The penalties are heavy. but if you're not going to do medium/ranged attacks, there's no real disadvantage.

Sooner or later you get an item like glasses, or if you can cover it with something magical, it's enough of a handful to get it back.

I decided to think about it that way and finished my character creation.

The character's name is "Rare".

It is also advantageous for beta-testers and early-access that such a small number of characters can be used.

Current experience is 110 points.

Thanks to its innate characteristics, it is able to start the game with a positive balance of payments despite a race that has a merit-based advantage.

This is a huge advantage.

However, if the specification of the EXP acquisition is similar to that of a closed test.
