Episode 12: Ants and Wolves

The identity of the mysterious horizontal hole was the ant's nest.

It's nice to be an ant, but it's a big size.

Probably didn't come to much on this side until now because there was an ice wolf nest hole. I've come to scout from time to time in anticipation of a time when only a wolf seems to be around, and maybe now is the time.

Depending on the size of the ant's nest at the end of that hole, I don't think that about eight big wolves can ravage it in numbers, but is that also for some reason?

"You're an ant demon... it's troublesome. What do we do, boss?"

Whatever they said they would do, there was an answer in Rae.

Tame those ants.

As long as Ali's abilities and workforce make it easy to expand the cave.

If the ecology is similar to that of the common ants known to Rae, the purpose will be achieved as long as even the queen ant can be taemed.

Then we need to get to the deepest part of the ant's nest.

"I wonder if there's any way to get to the back of the nest..."

If a working ant or a common ant earlier can be taemed, it will be cleaned up by family members from the edge of the encounter.

Even if we do that, we need to make contact with the ants once. Ali doesn't look like him anymore.

As things stand, that hole is the only place that seems to have access to the nest, and in the end, we just have to go in there. Besides, Rae needs to go directly.

"It's not smart to attack an area where you can't get around just this one..."

Even so, Rare's skill configuration does not originally have a direct offensive power. I am quite proud of my combat power for not relying on skills and parameters, but it is only an interpersonal technique. I don't think I can fight a six-legged biological opponent that's only as tall as my own knee.

Then, as far as rare is concerned, there will be no significant tactical difference between being able to move in the horizontal hole. If you have to, 'Spiritual Magic' is a sensible option to go alone.

"Besides, if you can get out somewhat wide over there, all you have to do is' summon 'your family there."

If so, the question is whether 'spiritual magic' passes to ants.

"Will you come again, Ari?"

"I'll get one?

That's what Marion proposes. The smallest Marion would be able to move better than Kelly, for example, but still...

"No, not really."

The current force of war is somewhat skewed by physical attacks. The Ice Wolves seem to be able to use some Ice based Attribute Attack or 'Ice Magic', but now either way they can't get into that hole in Ice Wolves.

Then you may consider acquiring magical coping power here. I feel like I've seen it. Physical attacks are hard to get through, and even though I'm not thinking about direct combat this time, I'll be fighting those energies ahead of me.

They originally sought stability in the battle by numbers. Then diversification of tactics is also a top priority.

By joining the Ice Wolves, you have a total of 200 Experience Points in your possession today. If you think of it as 11 places, you don't feel comfortable, you can do almost nothing, but if you stick to one person, it's enough. In addition, if the aim is to capture only one body, or catch one, then if you taste well, you may be able to go with less consumption.

"Marion, I'd like to ask you to catch one, as you say, but before I do, I'm going to give you the magical power"

"Mahou?... Magic! Am I gonna be able to use magic, too?

"Have you ever seen magic?

"I used to live in a settlement. Master Baba could use it. I wish I could use magic. I can wear it, and I can eat it all."

Because the beast man is not suited to the wizard system for his initial parameters, it may indeed be unusual to say that NPCs are natural and capable of using magic. Depending on the magical attributes available, some would be useful for life in settlements in the mountains.

The story is that the Kelly's settlement was close to the realm of demons, but it may have been possible because they possessed the specialized power of wizards.

"Right. Either way, I'm going to make all of Kelly and the others remember some magical skill, but first, Marion. But the question is, what kind of magic does it make?"

Now I want to make it a valid attribute that specializes in ants wherever possible. I wonder what that is.

It is likely that you are insect-like and don't like fire, but that is only an image in the real world. And in the real world it doesn't mean that insects are particularly vulnerable to fire, and most organisms die when they are put to fire.

Most organisms are vulnerable to fire, which also means that there are many effective occasions with the means of attack.

"Maybe even fire...... Kind of used in the cave. If I'm out of acid, I'm in trouble."

I don't even know if it has magical ventilation, like the base of the Rares.

Or vice versa, targeting acid depletion is also a hand.

While the difference with the real ant is unknown, there must be numerous temperatures in that body beyond being an insect. Insects need only that much oxygen for their activities, and most insects move slowly when oxygen concentrations drop.

But if this cave had magical ventilation, it would be total jail time.

Besides, it's this size of an insect. Even compared to real-world insects, it should require considerable oxygen concentrations to operate. That it is able to operate normally now may have a magical biological function that allows it to operate adequately at low oxygen concentrations in the world of this game.

In the first place, it is also uncertain whether the flames created by magic consume and burn oxygen. I'm a little interested, so I'd like to verify it, but if I'm going to prove it, I need a lot of equipment.

"It's troublesome that the enemy is not very magical... After all, we can only rely on magical means of attack."

If fire is difficult to use, what are the attributes of the next good? Although we are not sure whether fire is the best in the first place.

Perhaps we should put aside the reality ant thing and consider that ant from the data we know about the current situation.

There is not so much we know about this ant at the moment.

The first thing you need to do is have the size of an indoor dog. Then the movement must be quick to such an extent that it is not uncomfortable as an ant.

The next thing they know, they have the ability to dig holes neatly round the hard looking rock beds of the cave walls. It wasn't decided that ants drilled that hole, but at least it doesn't look like a naturally made hole. Then we should be vigilant, assuming it's one of the enemy's abilities.

Is it to this extent that the current situation has been found? There is no information leading to weaknesses.

"Ah, boss. You might not like wolves, because there are, right?

Riley comes to supplement Rae, who was putting his thoughts together while talking to herself about bumps.

I see, as Kelly put it, it doesn't mean 'visual enhancement', but she seems quite obsessed. Rae also forgot about the possibility for a moment.

If so, what does it mean that wolves are not good? In the present circumstances, I can't take you. We should explore the essence of the part about not being good at wolves and magically substitute just that part if possible.

Given the difference in stature, if you fight normally, you have no chance of beating Ali. I don't know if that's why. But if we're really going to fight, we'll be able to crush them in numbers. There are ants in the real world who hunt small animals dozens of times their size as well. And the ants in this world are huge. The wolves are also big, but not as huge as ants. Hunting should be easy for a bunch of giant ants. Then there must be a different element to the relationship between a normal beast and an ant.

Something unique about this world, for example, yes, for a magical reason.

"Ice wolf... Could Ali not be good at ice?
