Lesson 73: Ravage

The first person to notice the invasion was a player-like mercenary who was busy getting in and out. He shouted something and one mercenary came out of the castle gate after another.

Because it was too far away from the boulder to hear what they were saying, Rae offered a little altitude, activated the 'camouflage' of 'Light Magic' and approached it so that it could not be found.

"Camo" is a magic that renders the subject's appearance optically invisible. I can see how uncomfortable it would be if I shook my head in small pieces, but I wouldn't normally behave like that if I didn't know there was something there.

"It's Ali! I knew the event monsters in this city were like ants in that big forest!

"I heard the undead is the main thing, but you just mean you can't ignore the indigenous monsters in the area! Just bugs."

…… But there's an undead boss monster in the woods, and he's talking about it, and the undead might come out!

"Anyway, if it's in the dim woods, if it's in the bright spot, saying" undead boss "doesn't weaken you! There are only so many players here, and even NPC mercenaries will cooperate if the city is attacked, and they can push it back into the woods enough!

The players seem to have a great time and are above all.

"Damn! What a monster in this city......! This has never happened before!

"Odd, those newcomers must have pissed off too little in the woods! Shit!"

Will the second half of the anger be NPC? It is clear that the newcomer is the player, but this invasion is not their fault.

But Rae is also right because of the players, and given that the operation was originally an event prepared for the players, it's not wrong to blame the players in a way.

"─ That's tough. Well, maybe it's the player's fault. Then let that sinful player take responsibility and die. I guess we'll start with shelling. I'd also like to keep it warm for sieges, but can I wait for the recast and shoot it after the defense is gone? All right, grenade loading!

Grenade Loading

Sugar, who has a command among the queens, recites it to me. With this recitation, the artillery ants must be flying in contact. Even under Rae's eyes, those thought to be artillery ants stopped, turning their bodies and pointing forward at the tip of their bellies.

"What the... You're not in the same shape as the usual ants."

"Can an ant pose like that? It's like a razor."

"No, I mean, isn't that a good idea? I thought you were gonna shoot me.

"Don't be silly, you're an ant. That's..."

"Fire."

Shoot him.

At that moment, a burst sounded from the shells of all artillery ants, and shells were fired at the mercenaries in front of the castle gate.

The shell bursts in front of the castle gate and a fine shotgun pours down on the mercenaries.

"Agi."

"What?"

The mercenaries who watched it pompously were ground beef shortly after they said something and disappeared after a while. There are still some bodies left that won't disappear, but that would be NPC. The grenades couldn't be clever imitations that would only kill players for them, so they had to be blown together.

One bullet at a time won't even do much damage, but the number of artillery is very high relative to the number of mercenaries. If you can only do a small amount of damage, just hit the number of sharpeners you can even do that damage.

If anyone had enough defense to make it completely no-damage, I would have made another attack, but none of those who came out were there.

"If they want to protect the city, I want to destroy it. I don't have any particular grudges against them, but, well, it's with them in every game to take down enemies with no grudges whatsoever and make them experience."

When Rae offered only a silent prayer for form, he immediately gave instructions for the next bullet loading. The mercenaries who were in front of the castle gate swept away, but they have to shoot again when the next one comes out. Originally, while the enemy is in turmoil, it would be better to let infantry ants and others enter the downtown battle, but I would like to use grenades as well as dashi shotguns for this reason. I wanted to see how powerful a grenade would be in a siege fight.

It's unclear what the players think, but the NPC guards seem to have lost their temper to fight properly after seeing the current offense, and they closed the castle gate and began to consolidate their defenses.

"Nice. When it's completely closed, let's attack the gate. Then I want to see if the walls can be smashed, so why don't you throw a grenade on the walls?"

Copy that, sir.

Eventually the gate was completely closed and the city of Airfaren consolidated its protection like a tortoise.

Shoot him.

Artillery ant shelling hits there. Unlike the grenade earlier, this time the grenade will not burst until it lands. It is created by being adjusted to behave like a sticky grenade, and when it lands on the target, the tip side crumbles and becomes intimate for a moment. Immediately thereafter, an internal magical substance detonates, causing damage to the target.

If the walls couldn't be smashed, it was a shell that I let develop because I thought I could aim for backward stripping, but apparently the walls were brittle than the tip part of that shell. The tip of the shell fell into the wall without crushing, bursting straight into the hole. Because of the wood that led to the castle gate, it exploded with only one shell, and no longer served as a gate.

"Ah. Well, I guess so"

This could have been enough for a stone thrower. In this way, if you can get Soldier Vespa to hold Artillary Ants and let them bomb downtown, you'll be able to create a burning field in no time.

"Well that's next time. Anyway, if the walls can be attacked, let's get Assault and Infantry in. Get the assault soldiers out front, burn them down with flamethrowing, and let the infantry finish the retrieval."

Copy that.

Under Sugar's decree, an assault ant and an infantry ant, who had held back beside the artillery ants, lined up and slipped into the city over the rubble. Some of the city's guards had blown up along with the walls and castle gates, but some of them alive and some of the mercenaries they thought were players stood in the way.

"When it comes to demons, we shouldn't be shelling where our allies have broken in! We'll clean it up in the melee!

"If you're an ant's opponent, you're used to it! If you overrun this place, the Wizard will burn down the ants he's been shelling!

Many mercenaries have defeated the ants in the Great Forest, mainly because they made ants entertain them.

However, Raid Ants have never been entertained because they cannot operate inside the Great Forest. Probably a first-sight ant for them. I would love for you to take this opportunity to visit and pass away in your special seats.

The mercenaries approached, but Raid Ant calmly stuck his belly forward and greeted him with flamethrowing.

"Ghaaaaaaaa!

"Hey, what! Ahhhhhhh!

Whether the equipment you are wearing is metal or leather, but it doesn't matter, you will burn it to death equally. Raid Ant cleverly waves his belly, sliding the radiation range into fans, licking more range with flames. The emitted flammable gel has been burning on the spot for some time, causing damage from high temperatures to mercenaries who have not directly hit it.

Mercenaries who appear to be wizards try to quench fires with water-based or ice-based magic, but the number of ants is higher than the number of wizards. Exactly the condition of the water on the baking stone.

"Pfft. Well, this is interesting, but I don't really feel like an assault soldier with just flamethrowing. I just want an assault rifle or something...... Ali, bye. It's not like we can storm with guns."

If you think calmly, then the game is different. Speaking of one soldier, it's basically this world that beats each other with a blade at close range.

Perhaps the operation of the force should have brought the infantry forward and let the snipers cover it. But then I can't try Raid Ant flamethrowing.

"Do you think this turned out good? I've had enough."

The rear wizard is giving up fire suppression and shifting to a method of warfare that directly attacks the ant, not the flame.

If there are only enemies left to attack at a distance, you can never stare at each other across a wall of flames. Lower the Raid Ant and Infantry Ant once and let Artillary Ant shell from the shadow of the rubble that was formerly the Wall.

It becomes a curvature across the rubble, but a vespa over it takes the place of an observer, efficiently turning the wizard into ground beef with a grenade.

Enemies hidden in the shadows of buildings can either be steamed with flamethrowing, or grenades can turn buildings and everything into rubble. Are the ants getting used to it, too? Pushing up the front in efficient collaboration.

The outer periphery of the city is no longer fully functional. The guards are wiped out, the mercenaries also leave players behind to turn into corpses, and residents who didn't even think of fine dust such as the walls being torn escape. Characters with combat skills instruct me to kill them all for experience, but ignore them because the general public doesn't care. The aim is the destruction of the city, not the killing of its inhabitants. Residents simply die as a result.

A knighthood of lords appeared around the time the invasion of the ants plunged near the center of the city. I don't care what you think. It's too late. Even if the Rares left the soldiers at this moment, this city can no longer be rebuilt.

"Oh, because there is a Lordship Hall in the central part? It would be closer if we reached the Knights who guarded the Lords' Palace than the Knights showed up."
