Golden Experience

Episode 82: What to Protect

"Within an hour, you will receive resuscitation, will you lispawn immediately?

"There is no decrease in experience during the event period"

"Your lispawn point cannot be found. Lispawn couldn't do it. There are no other existing lispawn points for you. We'll randomly lispawn to the initial spawn point."

"Ha!?

What looked like Wayne with his eyes open was a side of the wilderness. Though I'm not sure how far on one side is actually wilderness because the day is already quite tilted and dim.

There are stars blinking overhead, and full moons. If this is the case, it doesn't seem like the sun will go down and you won't be able to see around at all.

"Dead... I don't mind. No, it's not good, but I can't help it. I can't find the Lispawn point..."

Wayne was registering at Lispawn Point, which means that that shiked-up inn in Airfaren was destroyed.

Over here from the start of the service, Wayne doesn't remember logging out outside that inn. That's why I ran out of all the Lispawn candidates and I guess I randomly spawned somewhere in the early Spawn candidates.

If so, I don't know where, but this wilderness should at least be the Kingdom of Hills.

Even though every peripheral city is under attack by monsters at the event, it is only the first day since the event began. I don't think all initial spawn candidate positions in the kingdom will be unusable in this short time. If so, Wayne had chosen the Kingdom of Hills at the start of the game, so the Initial Spawn position will include the Kingdom of Hills.

Initially, the initial spawn position will not become essentially unusable. Wayne's lispawn position was supposed to be a meadow on the outskirts of Airfaren, if not an inn.

However, due to the correction patch at the start of the formal service, the initial spawn position was adjusted. The reason for this is the ease of difficulty. According to the official website, areas that are too difficult will no longer be selected as initial spawn locations.

Wayne's failure to lispawn to the meadows would mean that the meadows are now perceived as highly challenging.

Probably been drunk by demons. To those horrible ants.

I guess it should be a pleasure to no longer have a novice to be risked in the early spawn position, but it is a troublesome thing to be suddenly flown to an even more unclear location of the event.

Most likely Wayne won't survive a few minutes where those ants squirreled into the hissing meadows.

"No, you wouldn't have to be me... It's an unknown monster that hasn't been out in the forest before. He's earning experience in the woods, maybe Rae or something, he can survive."

Rae has been saying things like doing PK in the woods ever since. Just because it's PK doesn't mean the demons can miss it. Then you should have been fighting demons normally, except when you were hunting players.

Maybe Rae was usually preying on those levels of ants. That horrible bunch of ants.

That's the right level of rarity. The strength to fight decently with enough power to devastate one city.

"Damn, it hasn't arrived yet. But you can't earn that kind of rough money forever."

If the experience used increases, the experience gained will decrease. So many players gradually change their hunting grounds and step up. As long as I keep hunting in the same place forever, no matter how many PKs I repeat, one day someone will chase me through.

No, I don't mind about Rae now. First of all, the situation in front of us.

A safe area in the Kingdom of Hills means that it is far from the realm of demons.

That is inevitably what happened when, as a result of the event, it was chosen as the initial spawn position, beyond the flooding taking place in all the demonic realms.

This is a huge disadvantage for the duration of the event.

He thought it was a bonus stage where he could continue to fight without fear of death now that there would be no loss of experience with the death penalty. But it wasn't.

If you die, you naturally have to lispawn. If the Lispawn point was missing at that time, it would be like Wayne now.

It was too late to notice. It is not the entire city or the NPC, but the inns that the human side should truly defend at this event.

No, it's not. NPCs can't lispawn when they're dead. Protecting them is right.

Because I was thinking about Rae, my thoughts are dropping in on people who despise their lives. You have to be careful.

Either way, Wayne, who couldn't protect any of that, is overwhelmingly underpowered.

The event is not over yet. Even though I was flown to a remote area, the event still has nine days left. There's got to be something I can do.

We have to start walking first.

I don't even know which way to walk because of the wilderness with nothing marked. Maybe you can see the city or something in the distance, but in this thin darkness it's also muddled.

But I can't help but worry about it.

If you go the wrong way and you can't go in the direction you want, then you just have to die again and bet on Random Lispawn. There are no death penalties during the event anyway. I said I kept dying until I pulled the hit. It's Operation Lispawn Roulette.

Directed appropriately, Wayne walked out.

I want to find the street first. There is always a city nearby in the early spawn position. If there's a city, there's got to be a street.

Wayne kept walking as he repelled the occasional assault on coyotes and others. The sun falls, and only the full moon and the light of the stars depend on Wayne.

Walking for a while changed the feel of my feet.

It's on. It's a street, apparently.

"You've finally got two choices. And then it's which way to go..."

Stand in the middle of the road and think. Then I feel faintly hearing the sound of water.

"There's a river nearby...? Is there a street laid along the river? If you're going upstream or downstream... there's more likely to be people downstream... I feel"

There is no particular basis. But unfounded is the same as before.

"Let's just go to the river and watch the flow... Huh!

I heard footsteps. It's massive, too.

If you stare into the middle of the dark, there's a presence coming this way with some sort of row along the street.

I've been observing it as it is for a while, but I don't know if you're noticing this one over there, especially if you're stopping your leg.

Wayne ran reflexively toward the other side when he finally began to understand its contour.

The group was a bunch of skeletons. It seemed pretty dark in color, but it didn't feel like it would blend into the darkness. Maybe it was red or something. But now I don't feel like going back just to check the color.

That's a shitty thing. Very unbeatable in Wayne right now. Maybe I can head here and die and play lispawn roulette, but it's not like I want to die aggressively.

If you're going to die anyway, it's more efficient to pay off an arrow and get a little experience and die.

Take this street and you'll probably get to the city.

Report the presence of that skeleton herd in the city, consolidate your defenses, and wait until morning to intercept.

If you can keep one of the cities on your side, you might even get a win.

If Skeleton was following us, we wouldn't get away with Wayne. They don't have bad stats like fatigue.

Fortunately, though, you're not interested in this one, or there's no sign you're running after me.

I don't know how far it is to the city, but Wayne went down the street ready to run all night.
