Chapter 2081: Part 1: A Web of Schemes
Darkmoon City
That night, I found the second hideout of the trafficking business. Unlike the previous brick building, this workplace was located on the underground floors of an abandoned residence.
Swoosh!
I quietly entered the place. I could hear the conversations of people coming from the rooms.
There were four rooms on the underground floor. I used the system to check their strength.
[Ding! Four level-9 Wizards and one Supreme Wizard are detected]
The system’s voice sounded in my mind. Hearing that, I immediately made a plan. There were two wizards in the first and second rooms.
There was a Supreme Wizard in the third room.
Swoosh!
I rushed inside the first room and knocked down the two level-9 Wizards from behind. Then, I put them inside the system space.
Next, I entered the second room to do the same.
Meanwhile,
Lady Caitlin was sitting in the reclining chair. Fortunately, she had her market goods inside her storage bracelet. She didn’t know what kind of place this was.
She couldn’t find the end of it. The two level-9 Wizards were unconscious on the ground. She had already collected information from them.
She didn’t know what to do with them, so she left some vitality running through their bodies.
Thud!
Right then, two level-9 Wizards appeared out of nowhere and fell down before her.
Caitlin was taken aback. But when she saw the familiar white coats, she understood. Her Master was visiting the shady hideouts.
These two were likely from a similar place, so she released a slight pressure targeting them.
Boom!
A Magic Lord-level coercion struck their bodies before disappearing within a fraction of a second.
Aaaahh!
The two Wizards let out heart-wrenching screams. The bones in their bodies fractured, their internals were damaged, and they felt terrible pain assaulting their bodies.
From beginning to end, they didn’t know what happened. Everything occurred in a flash.
Thud!
Caitlin was about to take out her golden book when one more figure crashed before her. This time, the figure was an old man, a Supreme Wizard.
"Who dared to sneak attack?" he shouted.
But when he raised his head, he was met with the gaze of a Magic Lord. The old man was petrified on the spot. He realized that he had kicked an iron plate.
He thought their hideout might have been busted.
Boom!
Caitlin didn’t ask anything. She released her mana pressure again, and the sudden spike struck the old man’s body.
The old man was caught completely off guard.
Aaaahhhhhh!
The old man received far more powerful coercion compared to the others. He was a Supreme Wizard, yet in front of the pressure of a Magic Lord, his Supreme Wizard bones cracked under the strain.
Caitlin raised her head and looked toward the sky. She could only see a blue grid everywhere.
Seeing that no one else was coming, she decided to start her investigation. A golden book appeared before her. She then swept her gaze across the wizards.
The two level-9 Wizards were unconscious. She could only turn to the old man, suspecting he might be the ringleader of the organization.

Outside
I left the underground hideout and returned to the main street. I looked for a place to eat, found a coffee restaurant on the side of the road, and went inside.
There were a few customers inside. I looked around before finding a seat and sat down on the bench.
A staff member came to take my order, and I asked for a medium hot coffee.
After placing the order, I began to recall the events in my mind. I had deliberately not destroyed the first hideout.
I wanted to know whether Magic Lord Duncan was in the city or not, which was why I took some time before taking action against the second hideout.
I wanted to find the leader of the group. There was a Supreme Wizard in the second hideout, but he was very old and didn’t seem to be the leader.
Maybe he was just in charge of the second hideout. It was really strange that no one noticed the disappearance of the workers in the first hideout.
Now that I have taken out the workers in the second hideout, including the old Supreme Wizard, I’m sure the people in the other hideouts will be alarmed.
If Magic Lord Duncan is present in the city, he will hear the news soon. Everything will be clear when I check the third hideout. I decided to check it out later.
The staff member brought me the hot coffee, and I began to enjoy it.

The Covenant member Amaira entered Darkmoon City in the nighttime. The appearance of City Lord Conrad had caused a stir earlier.
The City Guards were strict with their inspections, but she used her magic to influence their minds before entering the city.
The first thing she did was get away from the populated area. She found an isolated place before contacting the Senior Wizard on her team.
When the Senior Wizard answered the call, he learned that Amaira had arrived and shared his location with her.
After ending the call, Amaira rushed off to the secret location.
On the other hand, the three Magic Lords were hiding in another location.
They had yet to contact the frontline team because the three of them were deep in discussion. The elders had given them the mission to take control of the city.
"We should capture the City Lord first. With him under our control, things will be easy," Boris said.
"This city is not like Rockwell City. You cannot get away after exposing yourself. We should verify whether the wizards from the Magic Tower are staying here," Silas added.
"I heard that Darkmoon City runs business on behalf of the Black Tower. I’m sure they must have eyes and ears in the city," Sergei voiced his opinion.
Hearing that, everyone fell silent.
Boris thought of something and said, "I’m sure the frontline team must have gathered information on this city. We should contact them."
This time, Silas didn’t argue and agreed with the plan. Sergei too thought it was time to contact the frontline team, as a few hours had already passed since they entered the city.
