Chapter 771: The Female Supervisor
"Maybe our mental stress is too great, and we're having delusions. After all, this kind of thing happens often—once a person's mind goes haywire, it's easy to generate some illusions."
Y used this reasoning to convince both himself and A.
A nodded. "I need to use the bathroom."
A had one quirk: whenever he got nervous, he felt the urge to pee.
So A went to the bathroom, while Y closed the room door again.
Then Y started walking toward his computer, but before he had taken even five or six steps, he heard a bloodcurdling scream coming from the bathroom.
Y rushed over and yanked open the bathroom door in one swift motion. After pulling it open, he saw A with his pants down around his knees, half-cowering in the corner of the bathroom.
His arms were pressed tightly against the tiled walls on either side.
His eyes were fixed on the toilet with sheer terror and horror.
"What's wrong? A, what happened to you?"
Y leaned in to take a look at the toilet but saw nothing unusual. The toilet was perfectly normal—both inside and out.
Of course, the water inside the toilet wasn't clear anymore; it was mixed with A's yellow urine.
A seemed to still be in shock, unable to snap out of it until Y spoke to him several times. Only then did he slowly emerge from his panic.
After coming back to his senses, his lips trembled uncontrollably.
"I saw her—I saw the woman you mentioned. I was just peeing when I suddenly saw that woman's head emerge from the toilet bowl, smiling at me."
A was on the verge of tears as he said this.
As for Y, he tried to calm A down.
"Hey, buddy. The toilet bowl is so small, and a person's head is so big—how could she possibly stick her head out of it? You're definitely under too much mental stress and too tense."
Y tried to reassure him.
But A shouted at Y: "It's because she's a ghost! She's not human! That's why she can crawl out of the toilet!"
Y was left speechless at that moment. Great, now A had seen the woman too.
"Could it be that ghosts and supernatural phenomena really exist in this world?"
"But then again, how could this be such a coincidence? We've been staying here for two or three days without anything strange happening. But after that guy spoke to us, weird things have been happening one after another?"
As he pondered, Y suddenly latched onto the key point—the exceptionally handsome man.
Everything stemmed from that guy.
"Come on, A, let's go downstairs."
"Where to?"
"Just follow me. Make sure you bring whatever you have for self-defense."
The two of them left the room and headed downstairs. They considered taking the elevator, but A said that in all those horror movies, people who ride elevators almost always run into ghosts, so he insisted on taking the stairs.
So they took the stairs down to the first floor.
Once they reached the ground floor, they approached the front desk.
There was a young German female staff member at the front desk.
The two of them walked over.
Standing in front of the counter.
The young female staff member saw them and first spoke in German. When she realized they didn't understand, she switched to English, asking if they needed any help. (The entire conversation was in English.)
Y said, "We'd like to ask about someone—a male cleaner at your hotel. He's incredibly handsome, like a movie star, even more handsome than one."
The young female staff member was taken aback, then let out a sudden laugh. "Oh, guest, you must be joking. If our hotel really had a cleaner that handsome, I definitely wouldn't be single."
Y said, "So you're saying there's no such handsome male cleaner at your hotel?"
The young female staff member nodded. "That's right, there's definitely no one like that. None of the male staff here could be called handsome."
Y's expression turned complicated, and A's face was equally grim.
If that man wasn't a hotel cleaner and was an impostor, then what was his purpose for coming to their room pretending to clean?
Could it be that they had been targeted by a deranged criminal or a serial killer?
But even if that were the case, how had that man pulled off everything?
The woman who suddenly appeared and vanished, and those eerie knocks on the door?
Just as A and Y finished asking their questions and were about to leave,
they suddenly heard the young female staff member at the front desk say, "Hello, Supervisor."
Immediately after, another female voice rang out: "Mm, I just heard you discussing some handsome guy. What's going on?"
"Oh, it's like this—these two guests were asking if our hotel has a very handsome male cleaner. I said no."
"Who said there isn't one?"
The middle-aged woman called the Supervisor interrupted her.
Hearing this, A and Y, who had been about to leave but hadn't yet, turned to the female supervisor with confused looks.
The female supervisor seemed to explain to all three of them: "It's true that our hotel currently doesn't have a male cleaner as handsome as the one you two described."
"But two years ago, we really did have such a male cleaner."
The female supervisor had a rather stern appearance and was middle-aged.
Yet now, as she mentioned that male cleaner, a hint of joyful recollection appeared on her face, making her seem somewhat approachable:
"It was two years ago. A very handsome white young man came to our hotel to apply for a cleaner position."
"I was the one who hired him."
"At the time, I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me—how could someone so handsome come to work as a cleaner? But I still hired him."
"After I hired him, he worked at our hotel the whole time. Unfortunately, not long after, because he was so good-looking, he caught the eye of a male guest. That guest tried to force himself on him, but he resisted, accidentally fell out of a window, and died."
As the female supervisor said this, she looked very sad.
Y asked, "Do you have a photo of him?"
The female supervisor nodded, took out her phone, and found a group photo of herself and that handsome man.
A and Y leaned in to look.
With just one glance, their faces instantly turned deathly pale.
A perfect shade of corpse-white.
The female supervisor kept talking about the story of the handsome Lucas, but A and Y had no heart left to listen.
They trudged back dejectedly.
Without realizing it, they returned to the floor where their room was.
A was trembling all over, shaking like a leaf: "Y! That man! That man is a ghost! He was never human! He's a ghost!!!"
"But even if he's a ghost, why did he show up in front of us?!"
"Why is he haunting us?!"
"No, that's not right—he isn't haunting us. It's that female ghost! But where did that female ghost come from?!"
Seeing a ghost in broad daylight was no less terrifying than seeing one at night.
Let alone A—even Y, an atheist, found his face twitching wildly.
