Great, It's the Pervy Neighbor. We're Doomed

Chapter 774: The Truth Behind the Death

Bai Xiaoliang said at this point, "That's the downside of European and American countries—too few surveillance cameras. This 25 Hours Hotel at least has cameras in the lobby, but some hotels in Germany don't have a single one. When something happens, investigating becomes way too troublesome."

Bai Xiaoliang's teacher Michelle said, "Every country is different. We place a lot of emphasis on privacy here. Of course, that's also the downside. Every system has its clear pros and cons."

Chief Pete said, "Now we can only question the eyewitnesses and ask around the neighborhood to see if there are any leads. But as usual, this is going to end up just like all those other murder cases—a cold case with no resolution."

His gaze shifted to one spot.

Over there, the young couple, who were the absolute eyewitnesses, were being questioned by the police.

Because they had been scared out of their wits, the young couple answered the questions hesitantly and haltingly.

Moreover, as eyewitnesses, the information they provided was extremely limited. They had absolutely no idea how A and Y had fallen from the building.

The only ones who knew the truth about how the two fell were the Special Live Stream and the people in the live stream room.

At this moment, most of the people in the Special Live Stream room were in a state of complete shock and bewilderment.

Ever since Lucas left that hotel room, they had watched A and Y inside act like a pair of psychopaths.

They talked to themselves in the room, rambling on and on about a ton of things. Even more terrifyingly, they kept opening and closing the door over and over. Then it was as if a third invisible person had entered the room, and they chatted and talked with that invisible person for a long time.

After that, for no apparent reason, they burst out of the hotel room, ran all the way up the stairs to the rooftop, hesitated for a moment, then inexplicably charged toward the edge and jumped off.

From the true perspective, after Lucas left, the two of them never actually left the room.

The only time they left the room was at the very end, when they ran to the rooftop.

In other words, after Lucas left, everything A and Y experienced—seeing the female ghost, going downstairs to ask the front desk clerk, and meeting the Female Supervisor—was all fake, all an illusion. In the end, they charged out of the lobby, thinking they had escaped, but in reality, they had rushed off the rooftop, running straight to their doom.

Of course, the people in the Special Live Stream room had no idea about any of this, so they were utterly shocked by the deaths of A and Y.

More accurately, they were less shocked by the deaths themselves and more shocked and alarmed by the hypnotic ability Lucas possessed.

This kind of hypnosis killed without leaving a trace.

If it were ever used on them, the thought was simply unbearable.

Back outside the 25 Hours Hotel.

The Aisen Town police had wrapped up and left the scene. They had done everything necessary, including questioning the hotel staff and any possible nearby witnesses, but they hadn't uncovered anything significant. This would likely end up as another cold case.

With the deaths of A and Y added to the tally, the remaining ten lab rats in this Special Live Stream were now:

Jiang Ran, Huo Yun, Zhu Hong, and Juliet.

Currently, Zhu Hong was still locked up in the Aisen Town police station, effectively sealed off from this Special Live Stream. That meant the remaining three would face even more terrifying and dangerous attacks.

After the Aisen Town police left, the German couple who had been the eyewitnesses no longer had any interest in entering the hotel for their romantic rendezvous. They were badly shaken by the sudden two bodies falling from the sky. Hand in hand, they prepared to go somewhere else.

The two of them were incredibly lucky—they should probably buy a lottery ticket. After all, if those two bodies had landed on them instead, they'd be either dead or crippled.

At this moment, on a road across from the 25 Hours Hotel, a white Mercedes was parked.

A middle-aged white man walked out of a restaurant on the opposite side of the street. If the restaurant server had been paying close attention, they would have noticed that this middle-aged white man had been inside the restaurant for a long time, constantly staring at the 25 Hours Hotel across the street.

After leaving the restaurant, the middle-aged white man walked straight to the driver's seat of the Mercedes.

Once inside, he took out his phone and made a call.

He spoke, "A and Y are both dead. They fell to their deaths."

The voice on the other end said, "Good. It's time for you to complete your task."

The middle-aged white man hung up immediately. He inserted the key and started the engine. The car roared to life, then pulled away from its spot and drove down the road.

The car drove for about twenty minutes before finally coming to a slow stop on another street.

After parking by the curb, the middle-aged white man fixed his gaze on a cake shop on his side of the street. About five minutes later, a man and a woman walked out of the cake shop, appearing to be a couple. They were laughing and chatting, and the man was carrying an expensive fruit cake in his hand.

If Bai Xiaoliang had been there, he would have recognized them immediately—weren't these his senior brother and junior sister?

Michelle had several students, five men and three women in total.

Among them was a couple.

Of course, both members of this couple were white, and both were Americans.

Now, this couple left the cake shop and waited by the crosswalk for the traffic light.

Germany's traffic lights were somewhat amusing. Their red and green lights featured little red and green men wearing hats.

When the little red man turned into the little green man, the couple started crossing the street, laughing and chatting.

That was when the middle-aged white man, who had been waiting in the Mercedes, slammed down on the accelerator. His white Mercedes shot forward like a ferocious beast, barreling straight toward the couple.

The woman in the couple was still laughing and had her arm around the man's shoulder. But the man was the cautious type when crossing the street, so he spotted the white Mercedes speeding toward them like it was out of control.

Even though he spotted it, the white Mercedes was moving too fast. All he could do was suddenly shove his girlfriend backward with all his strength.

Abruptly shoved backward by her boyfriend, the woman was naturally annoyed. She landed hard on her butt and was about to demand an explanation from him when she saw a white Mercedes speed past and send her boyfriend flying through the air.

After sending her boyfriend flying, the white Mercedes sped off down the street, disappearing around the corner.

The woman stood there, staring blankly ahead.

Completely dumbfounded.

It wasn't until other passersby around her started screaming in terror that she finally snapped out of it, frantically scanning the area with her eyes, desperately searching for any sign of her boyfriend.
