"Impossible. Absolutely impossible."

A look of displeasure crossed Kamal’s face at Torresta’s reply.

’The fool doesn’t know what’s good for him,’ he cursed inwardly.

A faint smile touched Karma’s lips as he said with feigned kindness, "Since the Tower Master is unwilling, then let’s drop it."

"Maple City isn’t short on Mage Towers."

"What are you trying to do?" Li Wei demanded, his voice cold.

"It’s not about what I’m trying to do. It’s that you’re too stubborn to see which way the wind is blowing," Karma said with a smile.

"Rest assured, we have no intention of making this ugly. Everything that happens is their own choice."

"This is the will of the people."

Karma turned and left.

Li Wei frowned, wondering what scheme he was plotting.

Suddenly, he sensed many people leaving the Mage Tower.

This strange phenomenon caught Li Wei’s attention.

He walked to the edge of the Sixth Floor and looked down.

A group of Mage Apprentices and Mages followed Karma out of the Mage Tower.

Karma glanced back up at the tower, a triumphant smile on his face.

Even though he couldn’t see Li Wei, he knew he had to be standing there.

’Let’s see how you keep this place running now that the Magic Academy has poached all of your people.’

Li Wei saw that Martin and Komas had also left with Karma.

The two were veterans who had been with the Mage Tower for twenty or thirty years.

And yet, they had still chosen to leave.

The reason was simple: Karma had promised them something far greater—a chance to become Grand Mages.

Li Wei’s Spiritual Perception swept through the Mage Tower. Only a handful of people remained inside.

A single Official Mage and a few weak Mage Apprentices.

The only Official Mage who remained was Rota.

The few remaining Mage Apprentices were all fervent fans of the Northern Territory’s genius Mage, Li Wei.

They wanted to stay in the place where a Legend was born.

Their potential was so poor that Karma hadn’t even bothered trying to recruit them.

Thanks to Li Wei’s personal history, he actually had more admirers among the lower-level Mage Apprentices.

Many of them dreamed of one day having a sudden breakthrough like Li Wei and achieving a meteoric rise.

As Martin and Komas walked out the main gate of the Mage Tower, they glanced back instinctively before turning away without hesitation.

Komas whispered, "You don’t think the Tower Master will be angry, do you?"

Martin said flatly, "Our Tower Master hasn’t been the same for a long time."

Komas looked at him in surprise.

Martin didn’t explain.

He couldn’t explain it, anyway. It was just a gut feeling.

The bustling Mage Tower was suddenly deserted and silent.

Li Wei sat in the center of the Sixth Floor, a wry, helpless smile on his face.

"Master..."

A thousand emotions welled up inside him.

In the end, the thought of Torresta only made him smile bitterly.

’Torresta most likely won’t care that those people left.’

’To him, the only thing that ever mattered about the Mage Tower was the Dragon Soul imprisoned on the Seventh Floor.’

’Now, the Dragon Soul is long gone.’

’The Mage Tower has lost all meaning to Torresta.’

That night, the Mage Tower felt exceptionally desolate.

The few people who remained had all gone to their rooms to sleep.

It was destined to be a sleepless night.

Several figures appeared silently in the shadows at the base of the Mage Tower.

They looked up at the towering Mage Tower and exchanged a glance.

"Let’s make our move."

"I didn’t want it to come to this, but that old fool is an ingrate."

"He’s bringing this on himself. No one else to blame."

SWOOSH! SWOOSH! SWOOSH!

The figures shot into the Mage Tower.

Yet they didn’t trigger a single defensive Guardian Array.

The group easily bypassed the Maple City Mage Tower’s multiple layers of defense, reaching the third floor.

They saw that the golden gate to the Sixth Floor was already open.

Exchanging a look, they rushed through the golden gate without hesitation.

WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

Several figures appeared out of thin air on the Sixth Floor.

They quickly scanned the Sixth Floor.

The Sixth Floor was empty save for its towering stone pillars.

Looking outside, one could see the bustling night market of Maple City.

"Where is he?"

"There."

One person pointed to the center of the Sixth Floor, where there was a black rift.

"The Seventh Floor?"

"I’ve always heard the Seventh Floor of the Maple City Mage Tower holds a great secret. Now we finally have a chance to see what it is."

"Let’s go."

"Careful, it could be a trap."

"What’s there to fear? There are five of us. You really think we can’t handle a single Tier Four Mage?"

The group entered the black rift one after another.

Passing through the spatial rift leading to the Seventh Floor.

The group finally saw "Torresta."

One person scanned the surroundings, seeing a huge, collapsed and broken cage.

It looked as if a great battle had taken place here; everything within the cage had been destroyed.

"Is this the burial place you’ve chosen for yourself?"

one of the men said with a laugh, looking at "Torresta."

"What used to be imprisoned here?" another asked, confused.

BUZZ! BUZZ! BUZZ!

The dark area within the cage lit up with the radiance of a Magic Array.

A purple Magic Array emerged.

The intruders froze. They felt their bodies go rigid, unable to move, like insects trapped in amber.

"Damn it, this is a trap!"

"What’s to fear! Watch me destroy these Magic Arrays!"

They wouldn’t have dared to enter without being prepared for a trap.

On the right index finger of the man who had spoken, the Gemstone on his ring began to glow.

This was the Breaking Forbidden Law Ring.

It could break any Magic Array.

The Breaking Forbidden Law Ring shot out a beam of blue light that struck the purple Magic Array.

CRACK!

A strange noise came from the purple Magic Array as Traces of fractures appeared on its Magic Array Patterns.

Just when everyone thought the Magic Array was about to be broken...

The man using the Breaking Forbidden Law Ring suddenly realized that the Magic Array before him was already a damaged one.

Although a few more cracks appeared and its stability wavered, the Magic Array didn’t collapse.
