Harry Potter’s Book of Sin
Chapter 37 The Horseman and Mars
When Maca spoke to deny the existence of werewolves in the Forbidden Forest, Filch snorted.
"Who said no? For a long time in the past, the cry of werewolves has been lingering. That was the heart disease of all the students in the school at that time." He sneered.
As he was talking, Hagrid strode towards them from the darkness, Fang Fang following behind.Hagrid carried his huge crossbow with a full quiver hanging from his shoulders.
"It's almost time," he said, "I've been waiting for half an hour. How about, Maca, Harry, Hermione?"
"You shouldn't be so polite to them, Hagrid," Filch said coldly, "after all, they came here to be punished."
"That's why you are late, are you?" Hagrid frowned at Filch and said, "I have been teaching them, eh? This is not the place for you to teach people. Your mission is completed. From now on I am responsible."
"I'll be back at dawn," Filch said, "come to clean up their wreckage."
He said viciously, then turned and walked towards the castle, the lamp swaying and disappearing into the darkness.
At this moment, Malfoy turned to Hagrid suddenly.
"I'm not in the forbidden forest!" There was a hint of panic in his voice, which made Harry feel very happy.
"If you still want to stay at Hogwarts, you have to go." Hagrid said mercilessly. "You did something wrong and you have to pay the price now."
"I'm here to work as an escort, not a student. I thought we could write and check at most. If my father knew I was doing this, he would—"
"He will tell you that Hogwarts is like this." Hagrid said roughly. "Write and check? What good is it for you? You have to do something useful, or you have to get out. If you think you Father would rather let you be expelled, so you can go back to the castle to pack up and go!"
Seeing Malfoy staring at Hagrid bitterly for a while, he finally lowered his gaze before Hagrid continued talking.
"Well," Hagrid said, "Listen carefully now, what we are going to do tonight is very dangerous, and I don't want anyone to be in danger."
"Come here with me first—"
He led them to the edge of the forbidden forest, raised the lamp high, and pointed to a small intestine path that gradually concealed into the deep black forest.
"Look over there," Hagrid said. "Do you see the shiny thing on the ground? Silver! That's the blood of the unicorn. A unicorn in the Forbidden Forest was hurt by something. It's very heavy. This is the second time this week. I found one dead last Wednesday-we have to fight to find that poor unicorn and get it out of pain as soon as possible."
"If the thing that hurt the unicorn... that thing, it found us first, what should we do?" Malfoy asked, his voice with uncontrollable fear.
"As long as you are with me or Yaya, no creatures in the Forbidden Forest will hurt you." Hagrid said, "Don't leave the path! Okay, now we have to divide our troops and search for blood. It's all blood stains. Obviously, since at least last night, it has been stumbling and bumping and wandering everywhere."
"I want fangs!" Malfoy said hurriedly, seeming to be bewildered by the deterrent appearance of this big hound.
"Okay, but I remind you, it's a coward." Hagrid said, "Then Malfoy, Neville, and Yaya go the same way, Maca, uh... Maca, or you go with Yaya too How's it going? I think you can help me look a little bit, so that it won’t run away when it is suddenly afraid."
"No! No, that... Mr. McLean, you go with them, our side... That... no problem." Malfoy's resistance to Maca is obviously no less than the Forbidden Forest.
"Then, all right! Me, Maca, Harry, and Hermione,
"If anyone finds a unicorn, fire a green spark, understand? Take out your wands and practice. By the way, if anyone is in trouble, fire a red spark, and we will all come to you— Okay, everyone, be careful, let's go."
The dense canopy of the forbidden forest blocks most of the moonlight outside, so the forest looks quite dim.Even if Hagrid carried the lantern in his hand, he could only illuminate a small area around him.
"Fluorescence flickers." Maca pulled out his wand, improving the visibility around him a lot.
"Thank you," Hagrid said, "this will allow us to look more closely."
After walking in for a while, they reached a fork in the road, and the two groups began to move separately.
They walked in silence, staring at the ground. From time to time, you can see that there will be a silver blood stain on the fallen leaves on the ground, and a hint of blue in the light.
On the other hand, Maca has stopped thinking about the scroll of truth, and if nothing happens next, something interesting should happen.
"Could it be the werewolf who killed the unicorn?" Harry asked.
"I haven't seen a werewolf here," Hagrid said. "But even if there are werewolves, they won't be so fast. It is not easy to catch a unicorn. They are very powerful animals. Magic, I’ve never heard of unicorns being hurt before.”
They walked past a thick tree stump covered with moss, where the gurgling water could be faintly heard.Obviously, there is a stream somewhere nearby.
On the winding road, there are still scattered unicorn bloodstains.
"Are you okay, Hermione?" Hagrid asked in a low voice. "Don't worry, since it hurts so badly, it can't go very far. We'll be able to—no, hide in that tree soon. Go back!"
Before Hagrid spoke to remind him, Maca had dragged Hermione into the bushes nearby.Hagrid glanced at him, his hands kept on, he grabbed Harry, carried him off the path, and hid behind a tall oak tree.
He drew a feather arrow, mounted it on the crossbow, and raised it up and was ready to shoot.
Immediately, Harry heard it too, as if something was rubbing and dragging on the fallen leaves nearby, making a rustling noise.Hagrid squinted at the dark path, and after a few seconds, the voice gradually disappeared.
"I see," he murmured, "there is one thing that didn't originally belong here."
For the familiarity of the Forbidden Forest, I am afraid that no one can compare to Hagrid. Maca is not surprised by his judgment so accurately.
"Werewolf?" Harry asked.
"The werewolf's endurance is average, but the speed and explosiveness are very strong, and he won't walk so procrastinated." Makara walked Hermione out of the bushes and looked deeply into the dark forbidden forest.
"Maca is right." Hagrid said affirmatively, "Okay, come with me, now you have to be careful."
As they proceeded cautiously at a slower speed, suddenly they saw something moving in the open space in front of them.
"Who is there?" Hagrid yelled. "Come out quickly—I have a weapon!"
"Hagrid, that's a horseman," Maca said.
The thing walked into the clearing in response-above the waist was a man, with red hair and beard; but below the waist was a shiny brown horse with a long red tail behind it.
Harry and Hermione opened their mouths in surprise.
"Oh, it turned out to be you, Ronan." Hagrid said with a sigh of relief, "How are you?"
He stepped forward and shook hands with the horseman.
"Good evening, Hagrid." Ronan said, his voice low and sad. "Do you want to shoot me with a bow and arrow?"
"I have to be vigilant, Ronan," Hagrid said, patted his quiver. "There is a bad guy in this forest moving around. Oh, yes, this is Maca McLean, Harry Potter and Hermione Granger are students from the school above. Let me introduce to you, this is Ronan, a horseman."
"Hello, Ronan." Maca also shook hands with him, "It's nice to meet you."
He has always been interested in the horseman's prophetic talent, but it didn't help him much.Because in any case, the prediction is always vague and will be distorted in disguise due to actual choices. So most predictions can only be used as reference, at least Maca thinks so.
"Hello, UU reading www.uukanshu.com" Ronan said, "Are you students? Did you learn a lot in school?"
"Knowledge is always inexhaustible." Maca said, "systematic teaching can give students enlightenment."
"This is very helpful for exploring the unknown." Ronan nodded.
Having said this, he shifted his sight and stared at the sky above the clearing, "Mars is very bright tonight."
"Yeah," Hagrid said, and looked up at the sky, "Listen to me, Ronan, I'm glad we met you, because a unicorn was injured-did you see anything?"
Ronan stared upwards without blinking, and after a while he sighed.
"The innocent is always the first to suffer." He said, "This has been the case for hundreds of years, and it is still the case."
"Yeah," Hagrid said, "but did you see anything, Ronan? What was unusual?"
"Mars is very bright tonight...exceptionally bright."
The horse people's words are always so volatile, and chatting with them is easy to get anxious.
"Yes, but I mean, is there anything unusual near our home?" Hagrid was obviously a little impatient. "Did you not notice some strange movements?"
"I think Ronan wants to say that Mars is in the opposite position and the brightness is very high, so there should be worse things happening." Maca couldn't help but explain, "For example, riots, betrayal, oppression, fraud, or simply war."
Ronan couldn't help looking at Maca, as did Hermione and Harry, but Maca shrugged.
"Don't look at me like that. I read it from the book." He said, "To be honest, I'm not good at astronomy and divination. I just memorized them just now."
