Helping with Adventurer Party Management

Episode 598: The Technique of Hunting Monsters

What a long way to go before a rushing child becomes a rushing adventurer.

Makes me want to sigh unexpectedly.

"So you can get this far and finally take the first step as an adventurer when a child comes out of the countryside."

"... I wonder what I've been up to."

"I hate to say it, but I guess he was dead. Sarah, are you okay?

I think Sarah's face is a little blue.

"It's okay. Let's continue."

"Oh. So suppose you manage to take the job and keep working down and finally get to the level of a threesome with a pot on its back. You're just having a hard time getting up from there. I can't buy weapons, I can't train martial arts, I don't have the know-how to hunt monsters"

"Right. Somehow people with big bodies or trained weapons will be able to do it, but kids who can't will never be strong."

I had kendo qualities, and Sarah had bowman qualities as a hunter.

But those humans are limited.

"That's a hard place. You might say you don't have the qualities to be an adventurer, but you don't have a choice but to live the life of an adventurer."

I wish I could choose a non-adventurer way of life at the time I found out it wasn't for me in the first place.

"The sword is expensive, and wearing a bow takes years."

"How adventurers with small bodies and awkward handling of weapons hunt monsters,. What would Sarah do?

It should have taken a lot of hard work and ingenuity for a woman to be an adventurer.

If I had about Sarah's arm, I'd have had some experience dealing with monsters since I was in the village.

"Right. If I were you, I'd use a trap or something. When hunting for big prey in the village, that's what happened."

That was Sarah's answer.

"It's a trap... but if it's a demon wolf, doesn't Goblin get out even after he's caught in a trap?

With your hands, you'll be able to disarm the trap trick, and you'll be able to call your people.

"You don't have to straighten it out with a trap. Even if you can just hold back a little, the bow hit rate is completely different, and if your opponent's foot is stopped, throw a stone from afar or knock it down with a spear, something that you can safely knock down."

"Trap hunting... If it's a trap, you can make it with a scoop, a rope and a little hardware."

More importantly, it's cheap. That's all that matters for a runaway adventurer to use.

"I'm half serving as a hunter, but there were some people in the village who knew better. I wonder if adventurers have former hunters or anyone familiar with the trap."

"Right. If you ask a bunch of experts, they might make a more effective tool."

If your opponent is a group or has strong arms like a man-eating giant (orga), you won't get teeth in a little trap.

But if it's one or two demon wolves or goblins, there's a better chance they can crusade safely just because there's a trap.

Above all, it is suitable for children of narrow stature who struggle in ways that do not directly question their arm strength.

"And then, like, poison..."

"Poison."

Using poison for hunting is considered contraindicated (taboo), but not if you're a monster opponent.

Most importantly, few adventurers use poison for reasons such as difficulty in synthesizing or storing poison, high prices, lack of widespread knowledge, etc.

Most importantly, my career as an adventurer is no big deal, so maybe I actually use it normally on top adventurers.

"I wonder about the Sword Tooth Corps. Ask Kirik."

At a time like this, I appreciate having a source close to me.

◇ ◇ ◇ ◇ ◇

"Is it poison? You don't use it much in the soldier corps. Because the captain and deputy captain have enough arms not to need that."

Kirik's response was not fragrant.

Indeed, both Jilboa and Swivelry can deal with a man-eating giant with their arms alone.

Why don't you ask the other clans? With that in mind, Kirik made it look like he remembered.

"Yeah, but you seem to be researching something these days. Do you remember the pills the baron used to catch the man-eating giant?"

"Anesthesia!

Not long ago, the baron of the musician (Monoki) succeeded in capturing the man-eating giant alive.

He said he was studying the pain medicine he used at that time.

The Baron might be studying a drug that works for monsters.
