Chapter 732: Volkrath’s True Divine Form
Fortunately, before entering the empty Low Grade World, Volkrath had created several large projection screens for everyone else.
That meant none of them needed to enter the world themselves just to watch the battle.
Bruno’s expression remained tense as he stared at the projection.
Rachel stood silently nearby, her hands lightly clenched as she kept her eyes fixed on Garion.
Dahlia watched the screen with a sharp gaze, while Raviel, Aveline, Arden, Mersha, Valtor, and Seira all focused completely on the battlefield.
Even the Volcanion envoys had turned their attention toward the projections.
Inside the empty Low Grade World, Garion floated high above the barren land and looked toward Volkrath.
Volkrath studied him for a moment before a confident smile appeared on his face. "To show you exactly how different we are, let me reveal my true form."
The instant those words fell, crimson divine flames erupted around his body.
BOOOOM!
Volkrath’s humanoid figure rapidly began to expand.
His volcanic horns lengthened and became thicker, crimson-black scales spread across his skin, and layers of molten-looking armor formed over his chest, shoulders, arms, waist, and legs.
His hands transformed into enormous claws.
A powerful armored tail extended behind him, while burning cracks of golden-red divine energy spread across his body like magma flowing beneath volcanic stone.
Within only a few breaths, Volkrath had transformed into a massive humanoid dragon wrapped in volcanic armor.
Garion stared at him for a moment. Honestly, that was not what he had expected.
He had imagined Volkrath transforming into some massive eastern-style dragon with a long serpentine body stretching across the sky.
Or perhaps a western-style dragon with four gigantic legs, enormous wings, and a body large enough to resemble a mountain.
Instead, Volkrath looked like one of those terrifying armored dragon warriors Garion remembered seeing in animations from his previous world.
Garion blinked. "Oh?"
Volkrath immediately noticed his reaction and laughed. "Surprised?"
Garion nodded honestly. "A little. I thought you’d turn into some giant dragon."
Volkrath’s golden-red eyes gleamed with amusement. "You are wondering why my true divine form remains humanoid rather than becoming a traditional dragon, correct?"
Garion shrugged. "Pretty much."
Volkrath slowly flexed one enormous clawed hand. "For dragons below the God Realm, their true forms are generally what you imagine."
His deep voice echoed across the barren world. "Long divine dragons, gigantic four-legged winged dragons, or ancient draconic beasts possessing enormous bodies."
Volkrath spread his arms slightly. "However, the moment a dragon successfully enters the God Realm, we undergo a divine baptism."
The flames around him burned even brighter. "At that point, our existence undergoes another evolution, and we may choose the primary structure of our divine form."
Garion rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "So you chose this?"
Volkrath nodded. "Yes."
He glanced down at his own armored body, from his clawed hands to his powerful legs. "I must admit, once one reaches our level, a humanoid structure possesses many practical advantages."
Volkrath clenched his fist. "It allows greater freedom of movement, more efficient close combat, easier use of weapons, and better compatibility with countless techniques."
Garion nodded with understanding. "So basically, better movement and better fighting efficiency."
Volkrath’s tail moved slowly behind him as he nodded. "Precisely, and that’s why many of us chose this form as our main template, then incorporated our draconic features into it."
Garion placed one hand beneath his chin. "I see..."
For several seconds, he genuinely seemed fascinated, but a moment later, a thought suddenly struck him.
"Goddammit... If entering the God Realm causes another divine evolution, doesn’t that mean this damn body might have to be reworked again?"
His eyebrow twitched harder. The more he thought about it, the more annoyed he became.
"Goddammit, just how many times do I need to rework this body before it finally stops? Is it going to happen at every major realm?"
Volkrath naturally had no idea that Garion was currently more concerned about potentially suffering through another body reconstruction than the God standing directly in front of him.
He ignored Garion’s strange expression and raised one clawed hand. "Now, Garion."
His divine aura began to rise. "You have spoken boldly as though the power of a God is something you can challenge."
Both of Volkrath’s enormous hands slowly clenched as divine flames began to engulf his body. "Then I will stop holding back."
His golden-red eyes burned like miniature suns. "I will show you the true difference between a God and a Celestial Realm existence."
Garion’s eyes sharpened slightly before he let out a small laugh. "I already know what the main difference is. You don’t need to give me a damn lecture."
Volkrath paused.
Garion tilted his head, pointing at him. "It’s Divine Energy... or Divine Mana, right?"
Volkrath’s smile became noticeably sharper. "So you know."
The surrounding sky slowly turned crimson beneath the influence of his power. "Good."
He extended one clawed hand toward Garion. "Knowing about it and experiencing it personally, however, are two completely different things."
Volkrath’s divine pressure surged outward, violently shaking the entire low-grade world.
RUMBLE!
He turned back toward Garion and grinned. "Allow me to show you the difference in reality."
Garion looked around at the trembling world before returning his attention to Volkrath.
Instead of showing fear, his expression filled with excitement.
Purple-black-white light began pulsing beneath his skin as gravity around him slowly distorted. "Come on, then."
His strange eyes glowed brighter. "Show me how great a real God actually is."
Volkrath’s grin widened. "Then let me test you first with this."
He raised one massive clawed hand toward the crimson sky.
Divine flames surged around his arm, and within moments, hundreds of enormous burning meteors began appearing across the sky.
One after another, they tore through the crimson clouds before falling directly toward Garion.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The atmosphere shook violently as the meteors descended, each one wrapped in raging divine flames and carrying enough force to devastate enormous sections of the barren world.
Garion slowly raised his head and looked at the burning sky above him.
Instead of dodging, defending, or preparing any technique, he simply spread his arms slightly.
A wild laugh escaped him. "Hahaha! Good! Come on, show me!"
The first meteor crashed directly into him.
BOOOOOOM!
A colossal explosion swallowed Garion instantly.
Flames and shattered earth erupted outward for hundreds of kilometers as the entire battlefield trembled beneath the impact.
Even the projection screens inside [Divine Celestial Gym Island No.1] shook violently from the sheer force being transmitted through them.
Everyone watching froze.
