Hero’s Redo ~ A Hero That Once Saved the World Reborn as a Girl ~

Episode 35: The Adventurer's Life of the Siers, Part 1

- Ciel point of view

There were many things going on in the Rebble Empire. To be familiar with the brave men of each country, to get along with their party members, to mention that Lapis fought with the brave men of the Rebble Empire who had rubbed them before, that she was genuinely angry... It was a journey far from the word boredom. I figured I'd do my best on the doorstep when I came home for more than a month, just like I did, because I was pretty tired of being attacked by adventurers watching me with the emperor, attending dinner parties, and life changes like I'd never thought possible before.

Still, the next day, Adventurers are the ones who start to move well, and after dropping off Lapis, who went to work early in the morning, me and Karin got behind on her to the Adventurers Guild. I'm getting my reward there from the kingdom for this trip to the Rebble Empire, but naturally I have to earn my daily food because it's not enough to play and live elsewhere. Lapis is going to be blunt in action just to get us to work out, and we needed to fight demons and reassert our current strengths.

"Do you have a request that looks delicious?

"Uh-huh... If we limit ourselves to crusade requests, we'll have fewer, but I wonder if we've found some."

Take a look at Karin's request form. There was written a request to crusade demons witnessed in the neighborhood of the city and demons that were actually damaged.

"Goblin on the oak? This is...... Wearwolf!?

"Huh!?

Warewolf - also known as a werewolf, that demon is simply like a wolf walking upright. It's easy to imagine if you think there's a wolf's head on the human body. Similar demons call it a dog-headed cobolt, but it's completely different in strength from that one. If Kobolt is to be a runaway adventurer, Wearwolf is a monster as strong as a gold-ranked adventurer. Physical ability to overwhelm people, high magic resistance, endurance that isn't as good as vampires but can keep fighting the regeneration there for a long time. Besides, it also has the nasty trait of saying that it doesn't do much damage other than silver weapons, and if it's about a beginner's party, it's a demon with the power to wipe out even one of them.

"You're finally starting to wander around to such demons?

"Is it the effect of the demon king's resurrection? You've felt this way all over the country and abroad since Rich's noise."

A situation full of demons is a time to make money for adventurers, but there's a limit to what you've done. Even though this guild has a relatively large number of adventurers, it seems that the demand and supply balance is starting to upset, and the recipients are no longer available for simple or less lucrative requests. Of course, the lords aren't holding hands either, they seem to be sending soldiers everywhere to work in policing, but they still don't seem to be catching up.

"If you're as powerful as Wearwolf, you need at least four or five silver-ranked masters."

Shut up and nod at Karin's words. No matter how much we say we're stronger, the two of us alone are tough opponents of Wearwolf. There's a chance we can win, but I don't want to be forced into a life-threatening injury.

"Is it tough just for us... Then why don't you ask Rubias out, too?

"I'd love to, but that kid said he couldn't get out of the castle for a while about going to the Levre Empire. I have to submit a report to the King."

"Oh well. Then we'll have to join hands with some party on an ad hoc basis."

Take your eyes off the bulletin board where you are pasting the request and look around inside the guild. A large number of adventurers seem to be busy accepting requests and reporting, but I didn't seem to have the face to be a familiar adventurer and free time. I want to take a request, but not enough people - what do you do when you're like this? The Adventurer Alliance has a way of dealing with it.

First, take the requisition form for the request you want to receive, like this one, until you accept it. We've been together so far. And if you apply to party with other adventurers on an ad hoc basis, this request will be treated as a standby. Requests that have been treated as standby are conspicuously marked on the request and then affixed to the bulletin board again. Then, when another free adventurer sees the requisition, he or she will be able to take the requisition with the waiting adventurer.

Of course I can decide whether to take it face-to-face, and I have the right to say no, but the decision to add an adventurer who comes later lies only with the first adventurer to have the requisition. I mean, in this case, it's either me or Karin. But the party that originally had enough people and didn't have to wait is entitled to the request as a matter of priority. Once they receive the request, they will be able to accept the request regardless of where the adventurer is waiting for them. The demon damage expands when left alone, so it was only natural that people who could move quickly would be given priority.

"Lapis, this, please. Stand by."

"The Warewolf Crusade? I think you two can win, but you're gonna take safety precautions. Okay, I'll get right to it."

Lapis marks the requisition in red with a familiar hand. She also looked emotionally at the receptionist as she had been on the board for a long time, and the request was returned to the board again.

"Where do we wait? If one of you stays in the guild, you can let one go."

"I'll wait in the guild. It's a hassle to leave."

"Me too."

A waiting adventurer must be in the guild at least one person so that they can be contacted immediately. I always carry the Magic Book, and I can kill time anywhere, so no problem. Karin seems to have chosen to stick up at the table and sleep rather than walk because she's tired. With all the noise around us, only the sound of me winding the Book of Magic and Karin's quiet sleep echoes on the table at the end of our formation. When that time lasted for about an hour or two, two adventurers approached our table. Noticed the signs, I close the Book of Magic, and Karin wakes herself up quietly.

"Excuse me. Do you two fit in with Mr. Ciel and Mr. Karin waiting on the Warewolf crusade?

"Yeah, that's right. Do you guys want to join us?

"That's right. I'm a silver-ranked adventurer, Rabruska. This way..."

"I'm Vitis, a silver-ranked adventurer as well. Nice to meet you."

The male and female adventurers who so named looked about the same age as us. The man named Rabruska has a sword on his hip and a shield bracketed around his left hand. The equipment was an iron plate that covered only the chest, as well as equipment that emphasized ease of movement, said to be iron caged hands and twists. He had his purple head stretched to his shoulder, and his eyes, which seemed to be strong in will, were directed to observe this one.

Another adventurer, Vitis, wore similar gear. However, this one is equipped with a chain braided clasp underneath the chest. I guess they prioritize defense over speed. She was an adventurer with the same color of hair as Rabruska, with her hair wrapped in ponytails for an active impression. They look alike, or maybe they're just brothers and sisters. Her arms are equipped with shields, just like Rabruska's.

"That'll be quick, but I'll let you start the interview."

"Oh, I don't mind. Be my first."

With that said, he's been offering a piece of paper here, so I'll look right through it as soon as I get it. This paper contains the details of the most recent requests they received, as well as a background on the rewards and punishments found in the Guild's records. Even though I said I would choose to participate, I couldn't do it without any material, so the guild was handing out this kind of paper to participants who wanted to participate in such a standby request.

(In particular, there is no history of violation or record of failure to make a request. I don't feel bad about it, maybe this won't be a problem)

Handing Karin the paper through her eyes didn't seem to be a problem either, making her look over and nod. Too many root digging leaf digging questions can get away with it, and it can cause me to get giddy when I put it together, so at best I have enough to look at my background at times like this.

"Yeah. This won't be a problem. Shall I take your request with me?"

"Good. Well, for a while, thank you."

Shake back the hand we were offered, and we'll shake hands hard. An extraordinary party was formed here.

§ § §

The parties are all sometimes referred to as silver-ranked adventurers, and they are starting to prepare themselves for their journeys even if each is not told. We'll leave as soon as we can pack each toolbag with portable food, water, knives for cutting meat and branches, firecrackers, insect herbs and dried soup. The destination is a rural area about ten days one way from here, apparently facing deep woods.

"As the main industry in the village, you seem to be selling processed wood and animal skins. That's why they go into the woods every day to work. But it says here that some examples of Wearwolf sightings went up in the woods."

Together with the topical creation on the road and the reconfirmation of the request, I read and showed the contents of the request.

"There's only one Wearwolf confirmed, right?

"If the content of the requisition is accurate. Even though one is powerful, if there's more than one, I'll be honest with you. It's tough when you don't have twice as many people as you do now."

"Right. Well, I've never heard of Warewolf forming a sidekick, and you're gonna be fine."

That's what Vitis affirms as he rocks the distinctive ponytail. She and Rabruska, as I thought, were brothers and sisters after all. And they're both from an orphanage. Even so, I haven't been an orphan since I was a baby, but my parents went into an orphanage because of something else, so you think it's only been a few years since I was an orphanage?

It's only natural and limited for two people with no learning or money to choose. Whether you will be hired politely by some chamber of commerce to take care of your clothing and accommodation, or placed in a harsher environment by becoming an artisan apprentice or begging to live. If you don't like that, you have the option of an adventurer of last resort, but few orphans can choose this to survive. It was also due to the inability to get decent gear, but it was because orphans who had not eaten properly from time to time became adventurers of physical battles and could not last long.

For the most part, they put it in as a chore at some party and get a sparrow tear-like price to end it. If you don't like that and are independent, you will now have to do everything alone, so naturally your survival rate will also be extremely low. I mean, you shouldn't be able to survive until you're silver-ranked, like the two of us, without a lot of talent and luck.

I had just met him, and I was a little fond of the two of them smiling so that they wouldn't feel that hard, although it's dangerous to forgive him too much. The two of us, who have been breaking it down, now let us hear our rumors.

"I've heard the two names a lot lately. He said he was partying with Princess Rubias, who became a brave man."

"And you're also the direct disciple of that Lapis teacher, right? You're going to depend quite a bit on the battle side."

That's what we're talking about already. I should have been in the city for a moment when I left in the form of a brave party. People are everywhere for a purpose.

"Lapis has a lot to work out for you, but don't expect us to be that great."

"Even if it's just the two of us, I still haven't got my hands or legs."

"I still envy you. Teacher's class has a high multiplier. Once you miss it, you're a month ahead of us."

"You know, people who take classes get stronger without exception. He's amazing."

I don't feel bad about Lapis being praised. Both Karin and I were feeling proud as if we had been praised. This is what happens to everyone. Besides, calling Lapis a teacher sounds like you've both been to a training center. That's when I remembered something, and I turned to both of them.

"That's right. I just wanted to make sure that Rabruska and Vitis are good at melee combat, right?

"Oh. We both have shields, and if you're a wall player, I'll take care of it"

"I'll buy you some time to use magic."

Good. Their heads are flexible. If you're a strangely prized adventurer, it's troubling because there are times when you go gones here and there. I don't like being a shield or a pimp. If you want to use magic, use it on your own - like. I don't know what to say to myself, but the magic a wizard uses is powerful enough to change the war situation even with one shot. So when the wizard is at the party, the avant-garde is the most efficient way to be thorough with the wall role. Focusing on protection will buy you time and reduce the risk of injury. A wizard shot from the rear before the battle ended - that's the safest, surest way to fight.

"Thanks. Then it's a split confirmation, but a quartet would be good? Decide in the junket when precious material comes in. And whoever wins once loses the right to participate the next time valuable material is available. This is what I want to do."

"I don't mind that."

"Me too. Besides, it doesn't look like you can expect much from wearwolf material."

As Vitis put it, Wearwolf was famous for his demons who couldn't take much good material for being strong. This is also why I say it's not that big, but the main reason is that there aren't many parts I can take for the human form. So in these cases, the requisition fee is set slightly higher than the average. Because with a lot of cash, maybe that's all adventurers with tough nostalgia will take.

The fine arrangements with the two of them went amazingly smoothly, and I had my chest down that the majority of the extra hard work had dissolved. If you're an adventurer like them, it might not be a bad idea to work with them sometimes, even after this request is over. I was secretly thinking about that.
