Hero’s Redo ~ A Hero That Once Saved the World Reborn as a Girl ~

Episode 36: The Adventurer's Life of the Siers, Part 2

The client of this request is all the villagers - that is, each and every villager cut off a small amount of savings and offered a reward for this one. When demonic damage occurs, there are two main things that humans living in remote areas do. The first is to sue the lord who rules the land for damage and ask him to send out soldiers of the crusade. The second is to spend money with residents, like this one, and ask the Adventurer Guild. In the former case, they often send soldiers immediately when the lord can afford them, but it becomes difficult when demons are confirmed everywhere, as they are now. Because the number of soldiers is finite, and they really protect major streets and cities as a matter of priority.

When that happens, villages like this one with few people and no tax revenues to expect will be abandoned. That doesn't mean they're going to die too hard, so they're going to have to pay each other and send adventurers like us.

Actually, I came and figured it out. The village is rich in forest grace, and the underground waters make the wells never wither away, and the water seems abundant, but the financial income seemed not so great. The reason is simple. Because I do not have the means to carry the processed goods. Whether it's wood or skin, if you want to carry a large quantity, you're going to need a few carriages, and you're going to need personnel to escort them. You can't even maintain a carriage in a poor village, so you must be asking some chamber of commerce to buy it. Naturally, if you ask the Chamber of Commerce, the expenses necessary for transportation and escorts will be deducted, so the village makes less money. As a result, the village can remain poor forever - so to speak.

"Have you tried asking the Chamber of Commerce for help?

"For once. But they refused to have a reason to save this village until they gave a lot of money. You're sucking profits from scattered villages......!

To Labruska's question, the old man named the village chief replied so as to throw up. I'm sorry for him, but I don't think the Chamber of Commerce made the wrong decision. Because asylum in this village is only a lord, and the Chamber of Commerce is just a dealer. Instead of not expecting profits, that's about all the churches can do to help with deficit readiness. Because the Chamber of Commerce is not doing it for charity.

"Ah... something, I'm sorry. So, uh... where did you witness the warewolf at heart?

"Oh... then I have a map. I wonder where it is."

As the village chief turned his back and began to look for Gosogoso and the cupboard, Rabruska exhaled as if in a ho. You seem to think you've said something extra.

"There it is. This is it."

The map taken by the village chief contained detailed terrain in the woods. Even if you say forest at a sip, it's not all covered with trees, so naturally there are passages for people and beasts and squares that temporarily keep the felled trees. There are rest huts and work huts and many can be more surprisingly landmark than urban humans imagine.

"I'm in the deepest work shed in the woods... Could it be?

"That's right. Ever since I saw you, I've been scared and nobody's come near me. There's nothing you can do if they attack you."

Well, it's impossible to tell you to check, isn't it? We'll have to find out if Wearwolf is actually there. That day we were asked to stay in the village and decided to go for the back of the woods from the early morning of the next day - a time when the sun still wouldn't rise. Not just Wearwolf, basically, because demons move around more vigorously at night and are stronger, so early mornings into sleep can fight more favorably.

With one hand the map that the village chief gave us, we walk towards the back of the woods with Rabruska at the head. On my left and right, Karin and Vitis were in formation, preparing me for an unexpected raid. Although I regularly detect magic and explore the signs of demons, I can't fail to be vigilant because I can't keep using them all the time.

"Isn't it time?

"Probably. Guys, let's be careful not to miss a little noise."

Three people nodded at Labruska's words. The work shed where Wearwolf is supposed to be lurking is already at the end of his eyes and nose.

- Wearwolf Perspective

I am a demon commonly called Wearwolf. I don't have a name. My Lord sometimes calls me "Hey" or "You" or "Wang" when I'm in a good mood. Everyone would imagine the Demon King when I speak of my Lord alone, but not in fact. My Lord is a wizard, a man who binds me with contract magic.

Speaking of demons, it's not all about unspoken, unintelligent monsters. There are also demons inside that are far more intelligent than humans and others. I'm not particularly smart, but I'm a werewolf, so I naturally have the intelligence there. I have some difficulty uttering words because the shape of my face is wolf, but slowly, in one word, I can also talk to humans.

If such a question is asked why I lurk so deep in the woods, let's say to friendship with humans. Not that I wanted, of course. My instincts as a demon feel humans are enemies, and if I see them, I'm driven by the urge to wield one of my nails. But I am forbidden by the Lord's magic. It's teething.

It's been awhile since I exposed myself to the people in this cabin. The Lord's prediction says it's time for a bunch of adventurous sociopaths to show up. Hmm... just my nose, too, caught the smell of a few humans. It's about time... I hide myself in the shade of a tree a little further from the cabin and observe the humans who appear.

The number is four. There are three females in each male. I heard it was my turn to act when I say human, but when I have three females, I guess that male is strong there. Now, my job is to just give the Lord's letter to an adventurer who seems to understand the story, but don't worry about how he spoke up. You'll just be attacked by certifying yourself as an enemy when you leave all of a sudden, and it's going to have the same result from behind.

And, as I began to haunt my head at the earthen pit, I panicked and twisted myself when I saw a spear made of ice flying in front of me.

A tree that had been hiding itself until just now explodes in abundance, making a flashy noise. It was dangerous. They seem to have more arms than they thought when they suddenly figured out where we were and attacked us.

"We're on schedule!

"Okay!

"Copy that!"

Male sticks in from my front. Of the three females present, two were in motion to circle from left to right. Looks like he's going to pinch it down for business. The remaining female does not move from the spot, raising her wand to enhance her magic. He seems to be quite the bearer of magic, though not far from my Lord. He must have unleashed the magic earlier. It's my body with strong resistance to magic, but I have to be vigilant about his magic.

"Bye!

Play the sword that the male has protruded while hiding his half in his shield with his nails to disfigure himself. Then two females, divided left and right, launched an attack to cover it.

"Ha!"

"Hey!"

The attack of a female with a shield was easy, but the attack of a female with a long sword was sharp, kicking up the belly of the sword with all his might and leaping back. That female, she has her sword wrapped with magic to add more cleavage. A normal sword wouldn't take a lot of damage being inhibited by my own thick body hair, except that one. Even I can be fatally injured if I take it properly. Among these adventurers, the vigilant are females with long swords and females who cast magic behind them. The latter two are not great strength. As they continued to attack strong females while attacking weak males and females, they jumped out of front of me at the same time. At the same time, the ice spear flies again. And now it's more than one. When I realized I couldn't, I jumped into the air and circled my body small to minimize the impact area.

"Gwaw!"

The voice of pain leaks at will. Though two of the four flew in, the other two plundered my arms and legs. The wound is shallow, but if left alone, the bleeding prevents him from moving. If we don't serve our original purpose before it does.

Three males try to come at me again when I land in the rear. I stuck my hands out in front of them to keep it, and I shouted to them in a language they could understand.

"Made!!

Vikri - and the three stopped on their feet. The female in the back also looks at this one as surprised. I decided to pose as a friend, used mainly among the humans I taught, so that they would not come at me again. Break your knees on the spot and put your head and hands on the earth perfectly. Then my feelings made sense, and the adventurers conveyed confusing emotions.

"What the hell... I'm grounded..."

"Better than that, you just talked. Can you talk about Wearwolf?

"Is there no hostility? I'll avoid it, but they didn't attack us."

"... everyone calm down once. The alert is not lifted, and the weapon remains intact. Sounds like there's something I want to tell you, and let's just ask."

That's the pose of friendship my Lord taught me. Even though they had eyes full of killing and hostility, now the light of reason is back in their eyes. I made sure their attack stopped and took away a piece of parchment that was tied to my hips. Vikri and the three of them reacted to the move, but there's no way they're going to attack.

"Ugedre"

That's what I said, I threw parchment at the male. The male does not receive it directly, and after tapping it off with his sword, picks it up with vigilance. You rude bastard. You thought it was poisoned, too? You don't have to use that stuff to tell me it's a twist if I care.

"Is this... a letter? Contents.................. Huh!?

"What does it say?

"Ah...... yeah. Maybe you should read it."

Letters cross from male hands in turn. Then all of them, they were distorting their faces to surprise.

"Is this true? I can't believe there's someone living in a demonic realm..."

"And you know who this name is, don't you? It's a long time ago, and I wonder if Russia would believe it."

"But isn't it weird that Warewolf has a letter? I can't think of a demon that wouldn't even attack us, other than being magically subordinate."

The males and females who were avant-garde said they were half-hearted. But there was only one person who had the strongest reaction. It's a female who was using magic in the back.

"Really, you were entrusted with a letter by this man? Definitely in person?

"Zouda. Waga Arzikara, Taxareta"

"Yes...... Then call it off once, but I have to go see the guy."

"Ciel!? Are you serious?

Apparently, this female is the only one on board. Good. Now I don't have to be caged primarily. I had my inner chest down because there was a ritual of humiliation waiting for me to be forced to mate with those dogs if I failed.

"That said, you can't just keep quiet and go home. I have the villagers in front of me, and I want proof that I got rid of Wearwolf. Hey, you. Did you leave anything else with someone named your Lord?

"... Al. Sugossimade."

The adventurers were surprised when I punched them in the toolbag I was carrying.

"Is this... Wearwolf material? Sounds real."

"This hairy... looks just like you, but how did you take it?

"Waga Arzigatotta. Tokidogi, Seckansarel. Modai Nigara Hogan Citeda"

"... you kept your ears and tails ripped off in a cage? Sounds like someone a lot more dangerous than I heard. But now I'm deluding you that you've accomplished your request."

My Lord is only a little smarter than me. So we know in advance what the people we visit say about race and what we need.

"Then we will return with the person of purpose, as your Lord says. But you need to leave. If the villagers see us again, they might kill us next time without even listening."

"Wagaddha. Omaeda Chiga Frog Made, Cacre Dail"

"How do you know when you're back? Can you use magic or something?

"Nioidewagal. Hanaledei Demo, Ningennonioi, Yogwagal"

"Yes. Then you have no problem. Guys, let's get right back to the village. We need to get back to the city as soon as we're done."

Encouraged by the wizard's female, the other three also began to turn back their way to the village. All right, now the job is done. Later, let's wait for them to come back, lurking their breath in these woods. Dear Solciere our Lord. The role you've been given, there's nothing wrong with you that seems to be fulfilled.
