Eighty Tales: The Birdbeast of Will

Ten more days pass while watching everything sideways.

Sabitoga is still in the cage, and there is no movement in the Dark Ages.

The flesh was nearing its limit. The bones are smudged and the flesh is swollen (is) all over the skin. The blood hoisted all over the ends of the body, wrapping an unpleasant vortex (udder).

My gut feels dead and shrinks, and my nerves are so worn out that I can no longer even tell my pain.

Without a single arrow, will it decay?

Sabitoga quietly embraced her fate, but unexpectedly a new guest arrived.

At dusk, the guest, who appeared in jail on the way home and misplaced, was a woman wearing a deep green headscarf.

You look familiar, you look like you don't. Whoever turns to what, the lady still names the vague name of her memory.

Who was it? The target revealed his identity with a ringing voice of a bell (suzu) to Sabitoga, who leaned at the root of the eyebrow (Mayu). "It's Prince Shibki's use," he said.

Sabitoga unwittingly wandered in the cage and said in a harsh tone to the woman who came by.

"Prisoner, what can I do for you? Mittens can blame you."

"The execution of Prince Shibki has been decided. Three days later, at sunset, they drop your neck."

(MUFFLED) To Sabitoga, the woman continues further.

"The other prince, Prince Limmey, who was revealed alive, was just executed. He waved the blade more than twenty times until he died."

……

"Mitten seems to have given up on using you. Prince Shibki says," I want you to keep your word. "

In the rust of laying her eyes down, the woman flies to tatami the voice that passes through the rind.

"I understand your position. You are the executioner who kept killing sinners who followed (but did) the laws and justice of the Old Ages under the life of your predecessor. If you are, you cannot execute for the mittens who seized the throne. If you lay a blade on something other than the authority you gave yourself, it means that your previous executions will lose their legitimacy.

You must bear the brunt of a terrible number of murders. "

"... is Prince Shibki aware of that?"

"Yes, so Prince Sibuki asked if he could come before the execution deadline specified by Mitten."

Sabitoga looks up and sends a glance at the woman.

All the royal ladies (all) do, but the noticeable nostrils bordered (flushed) by the dark green headscarf are unusually beautiful and crop-like.

At the sight of its beauty, there were traces of tears (and then) this (was).

"By your own will… I ask you to drop Prince Shibki's neck (Ookubi) in a way that does not yield to any authority. Prince Shibki only owes you his full spiritual gratitude and will be ascended."

……

"Don't you see? Taking the life of Prince Shibki before the Mittens, that is, stopping the planned public execution of Mittens. That would stick to Mitten's authority and deny the legitimacy of the executions that take place under (under) it. As an executioner of the Old Ages, don't you have any more dressed scatters?

"I didn't make a promise."

Sabitoga stared at the woman's face, slowly, vomiting words.

"Prince Shibki did ask me to behead myself. But I haven't responded to that. I didn't say I did."

……

"Is there no other way?"

"Don't be ridiculous"

The tone of the female officer changed. Sabitoga narrows her eyes, but does not loosen any tone.

"You tell me to drop that smart prince's neck? There is no back shield for law or justice, and I tell you to slaughter and kill a boy who is innocent of all sins with my own will and responsibility... who might have become king if times were different... You're asking me to do that."

"Come on! How does Prince Shibki feel about calling you?

"I don't like it."

A cracked wrinkle (wrinkle) appeared in the eye of Sabitoga.

"Prince Shibki is only one of the royal people I hate...... only one person who deserves' favor '. That's the only one who didn't call me a' back stab '.

Why would I have to kill someone like that in the way I wanted? If you mean my 'will'... I don't want that. "

……

"Say it. I guess I've got the means to rush to Prince Sibuki. I don't know if there's such a 'hand' left in Mitten's hands... but if there is, I'll use it."

But I choose to live rather than kill a prince.

I wondered if the female officer had kept looking at Sabitoga, who spoke so loudly, with her sharp eyes for a while... I took the white key out of the nostalgia (two places) and threw it into the lattice.

The key to the cage? It is probably an impromptu key made by pressing clay (nendo) or rice cake (mochi) onto the real key held by the number and layering resin and paper pieces.

Before she heard what kind of danger she risked to prepare this, the woman turned her thin back and began to leave the prison with a slightly angry foothold.

At the end of the day, she threw herself away to be.

"The prince is already ready. Though I don't know what the hell you're going to say to that noble lady... if at all the consequences of Prince Sibuki's dignity being tarnished...

Then I will hunt you down to the end of the earth, but I will kill you. "

Sabitoga has nothing to say back to her words like that.

I just struggled to pick up the key at my feet, small, nodded.
