Hitsugi no Maou

One Hundred and Two Tales: The Spell

As they crossed the bridge, Sabitoga and the others headed straight to the exit of the Royal Palace.

The majority of the chasers should still be searching the rear palace. There were few guard lights in the royal palace yard, and even the front gate burning out because of the rain.

Shibki laughed small for some reason as she held onto herself so as not to leave behind the two people to protect in the dark. The young voice continues to say, "No, what," to Sabitoga, who frowns.

"I've never been touched so hard by a grown man."

"Forgive me."

"I'm not confused about anything else. I'm happy. If I had a real father, there might have been days when I would have been held like this. When I think about it, I feel like I've got something I don't want."

There were signs that the Lady Dowager would cover her mouth. When Sabitoga shuts up, Shibki keeps talking with her voice down a little bit.

"Sabitoga. I wanted to ask you something once."

"Whatever."

"Your real name."

Weakening rain quickly regained momentum. Sabitoga grunts her throat as she protects the heads of Shibki and the others with her feathery cloak.

"My real name......"

"Sabitoga would be the name given by the king when he was appointed executioner. You must have had a real name before that."

……

"What's up? You don't want to tell me."

Cross the darkness and approach the main entrance. Sabitoga was clawing out, making sure there was no shadow around the gate.

"It's a subtle name. It's almost like a disdain."

"Why such..."

"Because I'm an orphan and I didn't get a name from my parents. It was the mistress of the director of the orphanage (who was there) who gave me my first name. She was a woman with long legs, hence tall, who looked like a giant from a child's eyes, and could barely see her face because of her big breasts when she did it"

Sabitoga realized that her voice was full of resentment (Ensa) and contempt, and once she cut off her words she approached the main entrance.

The gate, which was open, would easily pass the three of them outside the royal palace. Did even the gatekeeper leave the backyard noise for the town? Sabitoga opens her mouth again as she strives for a nearby barracks stable.

"She wanted to proceed with the naming work of the unnamed orphans that her lover's dean had abandoned out of indifference and laziness (I want to). I'm sure she felt sublime and meant to be a kind Virgin Mary, but unfortunately she didn't have the intelligence and moderation to just seriously think about the names that shaped a person's life."

……

"It was named like having a cat or a dog. We orphans were only given names that would make us feel better about the characteristics of our bodies, our personalities, and the circumstances in which our parents abandoned us.

The kid with the burn (burn) marks on his face was called 'Yakedo' as it was. The shorter child is' Mame '. The kid who was scared of adults and was just nagging was' Ozigi '.

The child who was abandoned by Dob is' Dob '. The child that was about to be eaten by the dog is' feed '.

Some children were named 'monkeys' and 'rats' simply because their faces resembled animals. "

Not if we're talking about this. I knew it, but the emotional fire that accompanied the evoked old memory helped me to move the meat of Sabitoga, which was still trying to stop functioning.

I don't know what Shibki and the Lady of Tsubaki look like. But Sabitoga continued the conversation to reach the stable.

"The name of an orphan is not the name of a person. Much of it is a curse that breaks his heart. I was also... dumped outdoors on a snowy day and used to name it for hurting my neck bones and not healing for a long time"

"... you still don't want to teach us that name?

Shibki's voice is gentle with the bottom line.

Sabitoga didn't say yes before she spoke to Rap as if she were a hater.

Take a deep breath and put your abominable real name on your tongue.

There were signs that Shibki and the Lady of Tsubaki would relieve the tension they had strained. Soon the Lady Dowager returns words that explore Sabitoga's emotions, "though it is indeed a terrible name".

"I don't think the name itself sounds bad. It represents your personality in a good way, apart from the intentions of the person you named. I feel like a gentler word than rust blame..."

"I'm just saying my neck was broken."

"But it's healing now. Sabitoga, I think the meaning and value of a name depend on the consciousness of the side that calls it. If the name is flawed, even more so."

Shibki said from under his feathers, peering more pearlescent teeth.

"It's good to hear your real name. If you ever get a chance to call it that, then I'll be sure to speak only with respect. Like you gave my name a new, wonderful meaning."

Sabitoga did not know how to return the words, but just held Shibki and his shoulders back hard.

The prince and the queen laugh at the executioner who sinks his expression into the shadows. The noise of the rear palace was only far rearward.

Eventually, the shadow of the barracks rises black in the darkness.

There is no light whatsoever in the building packed by a conductor flying a fast horse, not a guard.

Sabitoga and the others stepped on the soaked ground in the rain and went around to the stable behind the barracks.
