How to Live as the Enemy Prince

< Chapter 21. Behind the Abyss (6) >

It's unbeatable.

Calian was using Siegfried as a shield now, though not intentionally. But now I'm going to use it as a shield.

"How about that, Siegfried Ball? That shouldn't be too hard."

How much help can Siegfried get?

What is the scope of their beliefs?

His brother Asnan could not fathom it. I thought Slay would do everything he asked of me, since we were best friends. But Slayman, Siegfried's soga master at the time, refused his friend's request to help him with the sword.

"Kalyan."

Slayman laughs.

Now, Kalian knew exactly the boundaries that only Slay could allow. That's exactly the extent of what Slay can do to help Callian without undermining Siegfried's beliefs.

"Kalian.Kalian· · · · · · · · · ·. Mmm-hmm!"

Only Slay called his name several times in front of the prince, with a distinctive laugh. After another wound, Hina looks embarrassed, but smiles unconcerned. Then he looks at Alan sitting across the hall and says in a loud voice.

"I thought my cubs looked just like me, so I picked a good one!"

Allan quietly said, listening to the two of them talk quietly.

"Your cub doesn't even know what he chose."

On a precise note, Jan's eyes smile as if they were just flowers. Then he opens his mouth to Slay's Bay.

"As you wish."

"Still, it's too expensive to pay for that marble. One more, please."

Only Slay said that with a big smile. I've bargained with a delicate face with a playful look somewhere.

Something reminds me of this in Allan's eyes, when I saw Slay roaring cleverly. And Kalian nods without a word. It means to talk, but Slayman looks down silently at his wound for a moment. Then, looking at the sword, he opened his mouth to Hina.

"I'm sorry, could you excuse me?"

Hina nods, and asks a small question.

"Tailan's sword was changed. So I didn't think about it before, but this time I know for sure. Prince and Tailan's sword are the same."

"Are you wondering how Lord Castrin and I use the same sword now?"

"A knight escorting the crown prince, and the first swordsman on the continent, will not teach the other knights of Cecretia. Isn't that right?"

If you want to explain how Khalian knows about Tailan's sword, which is unlikely to teach a common knight, you should tell him that Khalian's spawn was the prince of Cecretia, Prince Chase's brother.

Calian smiles with a flimsy face, reminding him what to say.

Is it a problem that everyone who knew it would know more about it? But Kalian wasn't in the mood to say it now.

Alan opens his mouth, looking at Calian's face.

"If it's okay to explain, I'll tell you a story, so you can go in. I will speak to the prince and speak to him separately about what you want to keep his knights hidden in the Duke of Siegfried."

Alan is carrying Callian like this, even though you don't know exactly what happened yesterday.

"Thank you. I'll ask both of you."

Kalian thanks his teacher for his consideration. And after asking Slayman for his understanding, he comes out.

Alan told me to rest, but there was another place I had to go.

I had to meet with Uriah, the head of the Wizard's Association, and Melphir Pollun, the merchant merchant of the Pollun Merchant Guild. It was time to meet someone who was desperately waiting for Kalian's help without saying a word first.

There are so many people to think about and meet, so I'm glad I don't have time to rest.

Callian smiles silently, thinking about it.

* * *

"Meow!"

I reached out for him, groaning.

"What the hell, you."

If you just stare out the window, you ask for a hug like this. Like I said, don't do anything depressing.

So I have to wonder if I know what's really going on or if it's always a coincidence.

Of course, Plants simply moved his hand and stroked the cat's neck as it was not possible to hear the answer. Then I noticed a slight change in the color of the necklace on the neck.

At first, I thought he'd grown up and worn a new necklace, but it was a little strange. Plants stared at the necklace and smiled.

'I am Prince Plants' favorite cat, Prince Kalian. '

It must be Hina.

Callian is noisy and speedy right now, and has never been able to do this in the first place.

I was looking at the cat while replacing it with a necklace with a much longer name.

- Knock knock.

You hear someone knocking on the door.

Plants looked at the landing page for a moment without answering.

As it has been every year, after the King's Birthday festival, the schedule of the princes becomes greater. This is why the events that have been delayed due to the preparation of the festival are held together.

So the busiest were the acolytes, and Raleigh, Plants' acolyte, was in a meeting just like Jan.

And Plants has yet to choose more servants than just one. That's why I had to give him an answer when he came to the meeting.

"What the hell."

It wasn't a friendly gesture, of course.

There was no reply from Plants.

I thought Hina had come to look for her cat, so her eyes narrowed after the visit.

A moment later, a voice comes from Plants' mouth.

"My brother's room is downstairs."

Towards Tailan, Chase's knight.

* * *

You take Tensyl's sacred knight and attempt to attack the White March with Grey. And the plan failed.

Is Randall going to stop here?

"Brother Randall won't give up."

I had to think ahead of Randall. In order to do that, I needed information. That's why Kalian came to see Uriah and Melpher.

"I'm sure you're planning something else as soon as you think you have time, and you've done something so unreasonable that you can't really tell me what you're trying to do."

Callian disappears.

It was funny that Randall acted so irrationally that he was too rational.

Immediately, Kalian looks at Euria and asks.

"The sacred knights are getting away with it."

"I don't think you need to worry about that."

According to Uriah, Kalian tilts his head and asks.

"Why?"

Then Uriah replied with a funny look on his face.

"Last night, knights in Lancelot territory followed behind them."

"If it's Lancelot, it's the baron standing over Brysen."

"That's right. I wasn't in a mood to cause a power struggle, and I was told I'd make it to the Tensyl border. I heard that they are chasing them close by to prevent them from rushing out or turning their horses to try another attack."

"Earl Brissen couldn't have known what Tensyl healers were. Apparently, Mr. Plants told me that after meeting with the late Lord Brycen."

Since Evan was not the type to expand his thinking there, it must have been Plants' idea to lead Tensyl's healers well to the border to prevent them from doing anything stupid.

"My brother is helping me like this again."

Khalian laughs with a short shout of his own words and opens his mouth to Uriah.

"But we still have to keep an eye on them."

"Of course. Don't worry."

Uriah smiles again, saying:

After that, Calian turns his head and looks at Melpir, who is sitting next to him. It's been a long time since I've seen you face to face.

"If you see any sudden movement, please check all of them."

Melpire was also a person with as much information as Uriah. We're dealing with territories all over Cairys.

"Nothing out of the ordinary so far, and I'll get right to it."

Kalian nods. Soon after that, he opened his mouth as if he was sorry.

"The Pollun Merchant Guild will be hit. If this happens and your relationship with Tensyl goes wrong, you may say that you will stop trading diamonds in Tensyl."

"Don't worry."

Melpher smiles and replies, "It's no big deal." He gives something to Calian. A small box made of tin.

"What is it?"

"It is now more precious than diamonds in Cairis."

"There's more to life than diamonds."

"Open it."

Soon, Calian opens the chest and becomes confused. What was in it was a pale red jewel resembling Calian's eyes.

"It's Ruby."

"Yes, Prince. Ruby."

Melpire nods with a round smile.

"I knew Bourne had increased demand for Ruby in Cairys. I didn't think it was enough to replace diamonds."

"It's not a substitute, it's not available. But I met someone yesterday who deals with rubies in the Society of Secretia. It came out very favorably. So don't worry about trading diamonds with Tensyl."

Oh, and Callian shuts up for a moment.

It was Chase's help.

Chase must have known that Melpher was alive, that he was supposed to be dead. I didn't have much time to think about who Melpire was working with.

"Glad to hear it."

Thanks to Plants and Chase, Calian smiles a little, relieved of a lot of worries.

As a result, Kalian came out of the Wizard's Association with a little relief that he only had one last thing left to do.

Then Raven sets Calian on fire and sets his feet on a truly comfortable footing.

As always, Raven will take you to the palace on her own, so Calian closes his eyes with deep pressure on the hood of the entire robe. It wasn't because people didn't recognize Calian, but it was because I was a little tired to greet them in person.

- Polygon, polygon.

Raven doesn't make a loud hoofbeating to find out how.

The more I thought about it, the more I thought he was strange, and when I smiled again, Raven stopped. Callian opens his eyes and looks forward.

Like Calian, there is a hooded man in a robe.

And when Calian saw the reflection under the hood, he paused for a moment like Raven.

"You · · · · · · · · · ·."

What brings you here?

Instead of asking such a question, Calian smiles and calls out its name.

"Shia."

"Commander! Long time no see!"

The elf with the raised face smiles widely and replies. Such an answer was not ahead of the question.
