Qiao Meixia raised an eyebrow in cold amusement. So... someone in this city had already begun privately investigating her.

Fortunately for them, they were only investigating the superficial identity of "Qiao Meixia", the modest, tragic orphan girl who had recently been brought back to the Jiang Family. Every single record, paper trail, and digital footprint associated with that persona had been masterfully crafted and planted years in advance.

As for the real, dangerous identity she kept hidden far beneath that fragile facade, no one in this world would ever manage to uncover it so easily. She was in no rush to figure out who was pulling the strings behind the investigation. Sooner or later, the foolish party would inevitably reveal themselves. There was zero need to waste time rushing the process.

She swung her long legs out of bed and began her morning routine for school. After taking a hot shower, she put on her newly tailored Suyu high school uniform. The custom, high-end tailoring hugged her posture impeccably, exuding an air of effortless elegance, while her textured, layered short bob hairstyle framed her striking face in a cool, aloof manner.

Once she was fully ready, she grabbed her bag, left her room, and walked down the grand staircase toward the dining room.

Jiang Yanna, Feng Lan, and Jiang Suhan were already seated at the dining table, enjoying their morning spread.

"Good morning, Qiaoqiao." Jiang Suhan greeted her warmly, his face lighting up with a gentle smile the moment his eyes landed on her.

"Hmm..." Qiao Meixia responded with her usual concise, indifferent nod as she took her seat.

"Meixia, can’t you answer your eldest brother with proper respect?" Feng Lan frowned instantly, her voice dropping into a sharp scold. "At the very least, greet him back properly with his title. Stop being so utterly rude and uncultured."

Before Qiao Meixia could even bother to respond to the criticism, Jiang Suhan spoke up first to cut his mother off.

"Mom, didn’t you hear her?" Jiang Suhan said, a lighthearted smile on his face. "She already gave me her response. That is more than enough for me."

"You are spoiling that girl far too much!" Feng Lan complained, slamming her teacup down onto the saucer.

"Yes." Jiang Suhan admitted without a shred of hesitation, looking directly at his mother. "I am spoiling her. Is there a problem with me treating my younger sister well?"

Feng Lan was rendered completely speechless by his immediate, defensive response. Ever since Qiao Meixia had officially moved back into the household, Jiang Suhan had grown noticeably sharper whenever he countered his mother’s critical remarks. Somehow, almost every domestic argument ended with Feng Lan being the one left choked and speechless.

"Sister Meixia..." Jiang Yanna finally spoke up, interjecting with a sweet, delicate voice to break the suffocating silence. "You can ride to school in the family car with Chinan and me today."

"No need." Qiao Meixia rejected the offer instantly, not even bothering to look up from buttering her toast.

"Sister Meixia, you really should not keep troubling Eldest Brother to personally drive you to the campus." Jiang Yanna continued with an air of pure, gentle consideration. "He still has to manage the entire corporate group and needs to arrive at his executive meetings early."

"I already have my own ride." Qiao Meixia replied flatly.

"What?" Jiang Yanna blinked in genuine surprise, her smooth facade wavering as she quickly turned her head toward Jiang Suhan. "Eldest Brother, did you secretly arrange another private vehicle and driver for Sister Meixia?"

For a brief, fleeting fraction of a second, an intense flicker of raw jealousy flashed through Jiang Yanna’s eyes. She genuinely believed that Jiang Suhan had gone behind their backs to assign a dedicated chauffeur and high-end car exclusively to his biological sister.

"Why on earth would you waste the family’s corporate resources like that?" Feng Lan also chimed in, her brows furrowed in heavy dissatisfaction at the thought.

"No, I did not." Jiang Suhan shook his head smoothly, settling the misunderstanding. "I did explicitly offer to arrange a dedicated driver for her, but Qiaoqiao firmly turned it down. She had already prepared her own mode of transport. She mentioned to me yesterday that she owns a motorcycle, and someone delivered it to her yesterday afternoon. Right, Qiaoqiao?"

"Hmm..." Qiao Meixia gave a small nod, calmly continuing her breakfast.

Neither Feng Lan nor Jiang Yanna thought much of the revelation. In their snobbish, aristocratic minds, the "motorcycle" Qiao Meixia casually referred to was likely nothing more than a cheap electric scooter or a second-hand commuter bike. After all, that humble, low-class mode of transport seemed far more fitting for someone who had supposedly spent her formative years growing up in the impoverished countryside.

Neither of them could have ever imagined in their wildest dreams that the "motorcycle" Qiao Meixia spoke of was a dark purple, custom Ducati Panigale V4 R, a legendary Italian superbike worth vastly more than many luxury sedans and capable of stopping traffic wherever it roared.

The eventual, crushing shock that awaited them when the truth was laid bare would undoubtedly leave both of them completely, utterly speechless.

Jiang Chinan finally sauntered down the stairs after everyone else had nearly finished their morning meal.

"Morning. Sorry, Sister Yanna... I ended up waking up late." Jiang Chinan apologised sheepishly as he hurried over to pull out a seat at the dining table.

Being the image of a gentle, considerate sister that everyone in high society admired, Jiang Yanna simply offered a sweet, forgiving smile and shook her head gracefully.

"It’s fine, Chinan. Just take your time and eat your breakfast. I will wait for you." Jiang Yanna said warmly.

Jiang Chinan immediately stuffed food into his mouth, chewing as quickly as humanly possible so as not to keep her waiting.

Meanwhile, Jiang Suhan and Qiao Meixia had already finished their breakfast. Both of them stood up from their respective seats.

"Sister Yanna, is Eldest Brother dropping her off at school again today?" Jiang Chinan asked between mouthfuls.

"No. Sister Meixia said she already arranged her own mode of transport." Jiang Yanna paused briefly before adding with a subtle smirk. "She mentioned she owns a motorcycle."

"Hah!" Jiang Chinan scoffed with blatant contempt. "It’s probably just one of those cheap, second-hand electric scooters. A lot of poor people from small towns ride those because they are dirt cheap."

"Well, at least it saves your eldest brother’s valuable time." Feng Lan commented indifferently, taking a slow sip of her tea. "That is a good thing."

Meanwhile, Jiang Suhan and Qiao Meixia walked side-by-side toward the private parking garage.

The exact second Jiang Suhan’s eyes landed on the dark purple custom Ducati Panigale V4 R resting in the far bay, his jaw nearly dropped straight to the polished floor. Even someone like him, who was not particularly obsessed with high-performance motorcycles, could tell at a single glance that this beast was no ordinary commuter bike.

Its aggressively sculpted aerodynamic bodywork, gleaming custom carbon-fibre components, and deep, metallic purple finish gave it an overwhelmingly regal and imposing presence. Standing under the garage lighting, it looked far more like a million-dollar work of art than a mere two-wheeled vehicle.

Jiang Suhan slowly turned his head to look at Qiao Meixia, his eyes wide with shock.

"Qiaoqiao..." Jiang Suhan asked hesitantly, his voice laced with utter disbelief. "Don’t tell me... that is your ride?"

"It is, indeed, my ride." Qiao Meixia admitted matter-of-factly, her voice completely calm.

Jiang Suhan watched in awe as Qiao Meixia effortlessly swung one long leg over the high saddle of the Ducati Panigale V4 R, her posture shifting naturally as her hands gripped the clip-on handlebars. She looked entirely in her element, mounted atop the powerful superbike.

There was not the slightest trace of hesitation or awkwardness in her fluid movements. It was glaringly obvious that she had been riding top-tier motorcycles for a very long time. The next second, her slender finger pressed the ignition button.

Vroom!

The high-output V4 engine instantly roared to life, sending a deep, thunderous growl vibrating through the concrete floor of the garage.

"I will get going first." Qiao Meixia said calmly through her open visor.

She lightly twisted the throttle.

VROOOM!

The engine unleashed another fierce, deafening roar before the dark purple Ducati shot smoothly out of the garage bay like a strike of violet lightning.
