Chapter 101: The Owner Of Ducati Panigale V4 R.
At that exact second, Jiang Chinan and Jiang Yanna had just stepped out of the main entrance doors onto the front courtyard. The deafening, throaty roar of the high-displacement engine instantly seized both of their attention. A streak of dark purple superbike blurred past the estate driveway, leaving behind a blast of wind before vanishing seamlessly through the main iron gates.
"Who on earth was that?" Jiang Chinan asked in complete surprise, blinking rapidly.
Jiang Yanna slowly shook her head, thoroughly perplexed.
"Wait... That bike literally just came out of our private garage." Jiang Chinan suddenly frowned, a look of confusion crossing his features. His eyes widened slightly as a horrifying thought crossed his mind. "Wait a minute... Don’t tell me that country bumpkin was the one riding it?"
"That’s completely impossible." Jiang Yanna refuted almost instantly, letting out a soft laugh at the absurdity of the idea. "That was clearly a top-tier superbike. It looked astronomically expensive. There is no way Sister Meixia could possibly own a machine of that caliber."
She paused for a second before offering what she firmly believed was the most logical, reasonable explanation. "It was probably one of our garage mechanics or senior staff members. Maybe someone parked their personal motorcycle inside our facility for the night."
Jiang Chinan nodded subconsciously, accepting her logic. That explanation sounded infinitely more believable. As a self-proclaimed superbike enthusiast himself, he had already recognised the distinct body profile from the rear light alone. It was undeniably a Ducati Panigale V4 R.
However, every single factory-standard Panigale V4 R he had ever seen came exclusively in Ducati’s iconic signature red. He had never once heard of a custom version painted in such a stunning, metallic dark purple. Even so, his stubborn pride refused to accept that someone like Qiao Meixia, a girl raised in an obscure orphanage, could ever dream of owning a motorcycle of that legendary calibre.
"Chinan..." Jiang Yanna called out gently, noticing that he was still staring blankly toward the outer gate. "Our car is here."
"Oh... Right!" Jiang Chinan finally snapped back to reality, shaking off the nagging thought. "Coming, Sister Yanna."
The two siblings quickly entered the waiting luxury sedan before the chauffeur smoothly navigated them toward the campus.
Meanwhile, Qiao Meixia had already arrived at the main gates of Hannan First High School. The duty security guard immediately stepped out of his booth and raised his hand, signalling for her to pull over for a security check. She smoothly brought the purring superbike to a complete halt right before the checkpoint.
"Are you a new student?" The guard asked, looking over the unfamiliar helmet and bike.
"Hmm." Qiao Meixia gave a small nod.
"Please present your student ID card, and remove your helmet as well. I need to verify your face against our system." The security guard stated politely.
Qiao Meixia switched off the ignition, dismounted the heavy bike with effortless grace, and unlatched her matte-black helmet. She lifted it off, allowing her short, layered bob hairstyle to fall naturally around her sharp, exquisite features.
For a brief second, the security guard was visibly stunned into silence. The female student standing before him looked far too young and delicate to be maneuvering such an intimidating, heavy-duty superbike.
He quickly pulled himself together and carefully cross-referenced the photograph on the official student card with her actual face. After confirming that the records matched perfectly, he handed the card back to her.
"Everything checks out, Miss Qiao." The security guard then gestured toward the main drive, adding politely, "Since you are riding a motorcycle onto school grounds, you will need to officially register the vehicle with the administration before you are permitted to park in the inner lot regularly. Just complete the digital vehicle registration form on the student portal later today."
"I understand." Qiao Meixia accepted her ID card and gave a polite nod. "Thank you, Sir."
"You are very welcome. Drive safely." The security guard nodded.
Qiao Meixia slid her helmet back on, mounted the custom superbike once more, and hit the starter.
The deep, resonant roar of the V4 engine instantly echoed across the entrance plaza, drawing dozens of curious gazes toward the front gate. As she glided slowly into the student parking sector, teenagers and staff members alike instinctively stopped in their tracks to stare.
Some were completely mesmerised by the magnificent, rare dark purple Ducati Panigale V4 R itself. Others were utterly floored by the realisation that the rider commanding the powerful machine was a young, female student clad in their very own prestigious school uniform.
Within seconds, hushed whispers and excited chatter spread like wildfire throughout the student parking lot. Who on earth was this mysterious transfer student riding a dream superbike that even many wealthy adults could only fantasise about owning?
When Qiao Meixia smoothly navigated her machine into the designated parking sector, another group of male students had just finished parking their own high-end motorcycles. The moment the unmistakable, throaty roar of the high-displacement V4 engine echoed through the lot, every single one of them instinctively turned around.
As dedicated motorcycle enthusiasts, they could identify that it was no ordinary bike simply from the aggressive resonance of the exhaust alone. What truly caught them completely off guard, however, was the rider. The person casually straddling the dark purple Ducati Panigale V4 R was wearing a neatly pleated school skirt.
For a moment, everyone stood utterly stunned. They had all subconsciously assumed that the owner commanding such an intimidating, high-performance machine would be one of the senior male students from a top-tier family. The group immediately began whispering frantically among themselves.
"A girl...?"
"Who is she?"
"No idea. I have never seen her around campus before."
"Just hold on a second. Wait until she takes off her helmet."
Standing right in the center of the group was Yin Junjie. He was equally intrigued by the identity of the person piloting the rare custom Ducati Panigale V4 R.
When Qiao Meixia reached up and removed her matte-black helmet, allowing her short, layered bob to fall naturally around her sharp face, the surrounding crowd collectively froze. Some of them had genuinely never seen her before. Others recognised her face immediately, especially Yin Junjie.
"Wait... isn’t that Jiang Yanna’s rumored twin sister?"
"What? Which Jiang Yanna?"
"You absolute idiot! How many Jiang Yannas do you think our school has?!"
"You mean my ultimate angel goddess, Jiang Yanna?!" One boy exclaimed in sheer disbelief. "No way! She does not look anything like my angel goddess at all!"
"Of course she does not." Another student rolled his eyes in annoyance. "They are fraternal twins, you clueless idiot."
"Oh..." The boy scratched his head awkwardly before shifting his gaze back toward Qiao Meixia. "But... she is actually ridiculously pretty."
"Forget about whether she’s pretty or not!" Another student interrupted impatiently, his eyes practically glowing. "Just look at that motorcycle!"
"Hey... that’s a genuine Ducati Panigale V4 R, isn’t it?"
"Yeah, man. Look at the carbon wings."
"That thing is astronomically expensive..."
"I want to get to know her and ask about that superbike."
"The Jiang Family really dotes on their newly reclaimed biological daughter to buy her something like that."
"I suddenly really want to get to know her."
"Same here."
"I just want to ask her about the specs on that custom purple paint job."
Several boys looked extremely eager to step forward and strike up a conversation. However, they all halted in their tracks when they noticed Yin Junjie walking toward Qiao Meixia first.
"Classmate." Yin Junjie called out excitedly, unable to hide the rare anticipation brimming in his voice. "That’s a real Ducati Panigale V4 R, right?"
Qiao Meixia looked up calmly and saw Yin Junjie standing before her.
Compared to his cold, aloof demeanour over the previous two days, his current attitude was a complete night-and-day transformation. Gone was the icy, indifferent expression he usually wore. Instead, his eyes were shining with unconcealed excitement, like a passionate collector who had just stumbled upon an invaluable artefact.
"Hmm." Qiao Meixia answered flatly.
"This superbike is actually yours?" Yin Junjie asked again, seeking double confirmation.
"Hmmm..." Qiao Meixia responded.
"That’s freaking awesome!" Yin Junjie exclaimed with absolute sincerity.
Qiao Meixia casually lifted her wrist and glanced at the time on her watch.
"Hey..." Qiao Meixia said calmly, looking at him. "We are going to be late for our morning class if we don’t start walking toward the building right now."
The exact second those matter-of-fact words left her mouth, the surrounding group of students burst into a sudden roar of laughter.
Qiao Meixia looked at the laughing crowd with a subtle hint of confusion.
