I Am Doing Daily Tasks in the Wizarding World

Chapter 163: Artificial Abyss (2)

Lynn had gained the authority to connect with the Artificial Abyss. He could now perform sacrifices in other realms to summon the Artificial Abyss and drag defenseless worlds into it.

In short, he had become one of the Artificial Abyss's proxies in the outside world. Granted, conducting a world sacrifice ritual could also drag a fallen world into the abyss.

But conducting a world sacrifice ritual was completely different from a true sacrifice.

A world sacrifice ritual was not only convoluted, but it also required massive amounts of materials prepared in advance. The ritual would have to span almost the entire world, creating disturbances so massive that hiding it was practically impossible. Any local resistance force with enough strength could easily sabotage it.

But Lynn directly connecting to the Artificial Abyss was a different story. He did not need complicated rituals; as long as the plane met the conditions to be pulled into the abyss, he could simply establish the connection. He would not need to trouble himself with the rest.

It was clear that the Artificial Abyss was working hard. The potential Lynn had displayed during his breakthrough and his status as an abyssal territory lord had earned the appreciation of the Artificial Abyss's consciousness, so it had rewarded him with a sliver of origin power.

For Lynn personally, that sliver of origin power was vital.

So I've gained an identity as the Artificial Abyss's proxy in the outside world?

This was not a bad thing, however. To him, it was actually a good thing.

During the birth of the Artificial Abyss, certain other entities had also sensed something.

A violent fluctuation suddenly echoed from the very bottom of the abyssal planes.

This was the ultimate abyss, an ancient place far older than the layers known to most demons. Shrouded in endless darkness, within layer upon layer of ancient depths, consciousnesses were awakened by the fluctuations of the new abyss's birth.

Dense black fog spread alongside a killing intent that blotted out the sky, rolling over massive white-bone tombs stacked like corpses. This was the very bottom of the abyssal plane, that massive Bottomless Abyss, a foundational realm of unfathomable depth.

A ripple of consciousness suddenly surfaced.

"That is—"

"A new abyss."

"The ancient prophecy was true after all. The world's black hole will split in two, bringing supreme darkness and the ultimate end to the world."

Many slumbering Abyss Demon Gods and ancient Abyss Great Monarchs sensed the commotion of the Artificial Abyss's birth.

Covetous or greedy gazes looked toward the location of the new abyss.

Many among them were from the very first batch of ancient entities spawned during the birth of the Primal Abyss. Having reaped the dividends of that era, they had gorged themselves on the benefits.

Those who had managed to reach this level all knew just how many benefits were available during the birth of an abyss.

Now that a new abyss was being born, it was akin to a new, highly promising company being established. How could these great predators suppress their greed and resist demanding a piece of the pie?

This was why the wizards of the Abyss Wizard Academy had hidden the news when creating the Artificial Abyss. If word had gotten out during the initial creation phase, they would have faced immediate difficulties. Countless greedy entities would have swarmed over for a share, guaranteeing endless complications.

Many would have faced these difficulties, and others would have come to stop them; after all, destruction was always far easier than creation.

But now, the Artificial Abyss was a success. Even if the news spread, it would have no impact.

Within the abyss, a snow-white arm reached out. This snow-white arm was covered in jagged spikes, and its six slender, elongated fingers were incredibly sharp.

The surrounding chaotic void was pushed aside. In an instant, the arm seemed to cross thousands of abyssal layers, slamming down heavily toward the Artificial Abyss.

But before it could even get close, a Black Wizard Tower, hidden in the surrounding void since who knew when, suddenly emerged.

The wizard tower looked as though it had always belonged there, yet no entity had noticed its presence.

A transparent membrane materialized, blocking the arm's path.

The next moment, an eye surfaced on the exterior of the wizard tower.

The instant this eye opened, a terrifying aura erupted. Rumble—

The void itself began to tremble and tear apart.

Boundless auras of death and resentment poured out.

Carrying a dense power of annihilation, the extreme aura of darkness lashed out. In an instant, massive black spots broke out across the surface of the snow-white arm.

These black spots continued to spread outward at a terrifying rate.

"Damn it!" accompanied a deafening roar.

The arm abruptly snapped clean off right at the base of the palm.

The severed arm simply plummeted, causing the space to shudder violently wherever it passed.

When the severed arm fell into the Artificial Abyss, dark shadows surfaced on the Artificial Abyss's world membrane. Crunch, crunch.

Accompanied by the sound of chewing, this arm was devoured alive!

"This won't work. I actually lost the abyss's blessing just now."

In the deepest reaches of the Primal Abyss, the Abyss Demon Gods, briefly roused from their slumber, communicated with one another.

They swiftly finished their discussion.

They ultimately came to an agreement: judging by the attitude of the Primal Abyss, it did not support them acting against the new Artificial Abyss.

Furthermore, the Artificial Abyss was backed by that individual, and behind the Abyss Wizard Academy stood the massive presence of the Wizard Council.

After some thought, the demon gods in the abyss ultimately abandoned their little schemes. The Artificial Abyss was already a success, a fruit of the wizards' labor. Had the Artificial Abyss still been in the production phase, they might have had a reason to interfere.

After all, the wizards had been borrowing abyssal territory at the time; theoretically speaking, they could be considered the "masters" of the abyss.

But now that the Artificial Abyss had become independent, they no longer had any justification to intervene.

Outside the abyss itself, bizarre anomalies were occurring in realms that were closer in "distance" to the abyss.

In some realms where it was broad daylight, the sky suddenly turned pitch-black. The sun and stars seemed to be entirely swallowed.

Everything was plunged into unparalleled darkness. At the highest point of the sky, endless darkness shrouded the surrounding void.

All this darkness transformed into storms, spreading out into the surrounding space.

In these realms, transcendents who specialized in divination, fate observation, or possessed strong spiritual perception all looked up in unison, feeling absolute terror in their hearts.

They sensed that something utterly terrifying was about to descend. A few transcendents who attempted to forcefully divine the source instantly bled from all seven orifices, turning directly into madmen or fools.

Some transcendents came to call this eerie, special phenomenon the black sky.

Lynn prepared to go see Dyo. His territory was not far from hers; they were practically bordering each other.

However, when Lynn arrived at Dyo's Bailuodu, he found that the entire city was enshrouded in a mysterious aura.

He had not been the only one. Other lords within the abyss had also received gifts from the Artificial Abyss.

Abyss lords with exceptional potential, in particular, received the favor of the Artificial Abyss. After all, the realm was currently short on manpower, so the Artificial Abyss heavily supported any promising saplings.

This was the benefit of being a founding minister!

Had this been the current Primal Abyss, raw talent alone would not be enough. Unless one's aptitude was staggeringly exceptional—unmatched by countless demons across history—they might not earn the favor of the Primal Abyss.

After all, having developed for so many eras, the Primal Abyss had countless "elite troops and strong generals"; it was no longer lacking in highly talented and powerful entities.

In contrast, the newly established Artificial Abyss was lacking in talent, so it vigorously nurtured those with potential. Of course, once the dust settled and the Artificial Abyss's development entered the right track, earning its favor and gifts would become increasingly difficult.

Seeing that Dyo was currently processing her own fortuitous encounter, Lynn did not disturb her.

Seeing that the progress of the Artificial Abyss had reached its final stages, Lynn left the Artificial Abyss and returned to the Greater Feilan Plane.

After he returned to the Greater Feilan Plane, Maesys quickly sought him out.

"Huh? The aura on you." Maesys looked at the aura around Lynn, feeling somewhat shocked and uncertain.

The aura radiating from Lynn was now completely different from before.

More importantly, as a deity, He could sense the aura of a Divine Being coming from Lynn.

"You transformed yourself into a Divine Being? You broke through?" Maesys asked.

"Yes, I broke through," Lynn said, nodding.

He then looked at Maesys.

"How is the situation right now?" Lynn asked.

"Hold on. Let me give you what I promised last time first," Maesys said.

As His voice fell, a brilliant golden light surfaced on the statue in front of him, and strands of divine power drifted out in a steady stream.

"That is a lot of divine power. It seems you've had a bountiful harvest," Lynn said, feeling somewhat pleased.

"Of course. You have no idea how hard I've been working lately," Maesys said proudly.

Following Lynn's breakthrough, Maesys's attitude toward him had quietly undergone a slight change.

Perhaps Maesys hadn't even realized it himself, but Lynn keenly noticed it.

This was an attitude reserved only for an entity of equal standing. Just like a human talking to a human versus a human talking to a pet, no matter how one disguised it, the mentality of a human treating a pet was fundamentally different.
