Chapter 68: Ch 68- Departure
Soon, the day of departure finally arrived.
Right now, Mo Yuan was sitting inside the Martial Hall with Mu Jin. Mo Ran was sitting beside him and the Void Cat was comfortably resting on her lap.
Mo Yuan and Mu Jin were discussing the arrangements for their journey to the large base.
"Mo Yuan, there is one more thing you need to know," Mu Jin said. "You have to pay a fee to travel with the convoy and each person has to pay ten million yuan."
He glanced at the Void Cat.
"Your beast also has to pay the same amount."
Mo Yuan nodded without hesitation.
"No problem, money isn’t an issue."
After hunting so many beasts during the past few days, Mo Yuan had already exchanged some of their materials for money.
Inside his storage space, he currently had thirty Platinum Cards.
Gold Cards were worth one million yuan each, while Platinum Cards were worth ten million yuan each.
They also Didn’t have any Debit card facility in Dong Hai Base, so people had to rely on these cards.
Thirty Platinum Cards meant he currently had three hundred million yuan.
Of course, this wasn’t the total value of all the beasts he had hunted.
The Dong Hai Base bank simply couldn’t give him too many Platinum Cards at once. The bank also needed enough money and resources to maintain the daily operations of the entire base.
If Mo Yuan exchanged all the beast materials at once, that would affect the economy of Dong Hai base.
’Still, three hundred million yuan is already enough for now.’
Mo Yuan wasn’t worried.
’After reaching the large base, I can exchange the remaining beast materials there.’
The beast corpses in his storage space were worth far more than the three hundred million yuan he currently had.
As long as he reached the large base safely, he would have plenty of money to spend.
Soon, the convoy arrived at Dong Hai Base.
The people responsible for the convoy had already finished their trading and other arrangements with the Martial Hall. Now, they were preparing to leave.
Mo Yuan, Mo Ran and the Void Cat followed Mu Jin toward the place where the convoy was stationed.
When they arrived, Mo Yuan looked around curiously. There were at least fifty beasts gathered around the convoy and they were all origin Core realm.
Some of the beasts were used to pull the large carriages, while others were used to transport people and goods between different parts of the convoy.
There were also several powerful cultivators standing nearby, keeping watch over everything.
This convoy was clearly not something an ordinary group could form.
Soon, Mu Jin led Mo Yuan toward the leader of the convoy.
The man looked to be around fifty years old. His face was slightly old but his aura belonged to someone who has reached Peak Stage of Origin Soul Realm.
Mo Yuan quietly scanned him and there was nothing special about his talents.
Mu Jin stepped forward with a smile.
"Greetings, Fellow Daoist. My friend would like to travel with your convoy to Cang Lan Base."
The convoy leader nodded.
He first looked at Mu Jin before turning his attention toward Mo Yuan and then he looked at Mo Ran. Finally, his gaze landed on the Void Cat sitting in Mo Ran’s arms.
"Three people and one beast?"
"Yes," Mu Jin replied.
The convoy leader nodded.
"Thirty million yuan. The beast also needs to pay."
Mo Yuan didn’t hesitate, he reached into his pocket and took out three Platinum Cards.
He didn’t use his storage space in front of them because he didn’t have a storage ring or any other obvious storage treasure.
If he suddenly took the cards out of his storage space, someone might become suspicious.
’If I don’t have a storage ring, how am I supposed to explain where the money came from?’
Although Mo Yuan wasn’t afraid of anyone in Dong Hai Base, he still preferred not to expose everything about himself.
He handed the three Platinum Cards to the convoy leader.
"Here."
The convoy leader accepted the cards and checked them. After confirming that they were genuine, he nodded.
"Everything is settled."
He then looked toward the convoy.
"You can board whenever you’re ready. We will leave soon."
Mo Yuan nodded.
"Thank you."
He turned around and looked at Mo Ran.
"Let’s go."
Mo Ran nodded happily and picked up the Void Cat and the three of them then followed the convoy.
Mo Yuan looked back at Dong Hai Base one last time, he had lived here for quite some time but now it was time to leave.
Mo Yuan said goodbye to Mu Jin before leaving.
Mu Jin still had to manage matters in the Martial Hall, so he couldn’t travel with them all the way to Cang Lan Base.
"Take care of yourself," Mu Jin said.
"I will."
Mo Yuan nodded before turning around and joining Mo Ran and boarded one of the carriages.
The carriage was pulled by a huge elephant-type beast. Its body was several meters tall, and its strength was clearly at Origin Core realm.
Soon, the convoy began moving, as they left Dong Hai Base, Mo Yuan looked around curiously.
There were many people traveling with the convoy. Some were cultivators, while others were merchants or ordinary people who wanted to reach Cang Lan Base safely.
Mo Yuan quietly activated his Copy and Paste Talent and scanned everyone around him.
He carefully checked their talents one by one. Unfortunately, he didn’t find anyone with a talent worth copying.
’Nothing useful.’
Mo Yuan wasn’t disappointed as he had already expected this. Finding high-grade talents wasn’t easy, especially in a place like Dong Hai Base.
After some time, the convoy leader stood up and made an announcement.
"We will reach Cang Lan Base in around twenty days."
Everyone immediately became quiet and listened.
"During the journey, we will only stop for around one hour each day. That time will be used for eating, drinking, resting, and taking care of anything else you need."
The convoy leader’s expression became serious.
"Other than that, everyone must remain inside the convoy."
He looked around at the people.
"And one more thing. No one is allowed to create any unnecessary commotion."
"If your actions attract powerful beasts toward the convoy, don’t expect us to protect you."
A few people immediately became nervous. The convoy leader continued.
"If we discover that someone deliberately caused trouble and attracted beasts toward us, we will leave that person behind."
The atmosphere immediately became quiet and no one dared to say anything. Everyone knew how dangerous the wilderness was.
After making the announcement, the convoy leader returned to his position.
The convoy continued moving toward Cang Lan Base. Mo Yuan looked outside the carriage.
The reason everyone wasn’t too worried about the journey was because this wasn’t an ordinary path. The route they were taking had already been carefully explored by Cang Lan Base.
It was considered the safest and fastest route between the two bases. Powerful beasts had been dealt with along the route many times and the path was regularly maintained.
Of course, safe didn’t mean completely harmless as here could still be unexpected situations but compared to other routes through the wilderness, this was already the best choice.
