Chapter 26: Ch 26- The Missing Gorath
Following the same route as before, Mo Yuan once again entered the Ruined Sanctuary. This time, the journey was much faster. Previously, it had taken him nearly two days to arrive.
Now, after breaking through to the Origin Core Realm, it only took him a single day. His cultivation had increased dramatically, and so had his speed. Even so, he wasn’t confident he could defeat the Intermediate Gorath.
After all, that beast had the strength to kill Origin Core Realm cultivators.
Mo Yuan carefully calculated his current strength.
"My base strength is around 13,000 jin."
"After activating my Superior Grade Strength Talent, it increases fivefold to around 65,000 jin."
"And after using Primordial Qi to double my strength..."
"I can unleash nearly 130,000 jin of power."
He nodded slightly.
An ordinary Peak Origin Core Realm cultivator possessed around 100,000 jin of physical strength. After amplifying it with Primordial Qi, they could unleash nearly 200,000 jin of force.
Compared to them, he was still somewhat weaker.
More importantly, his Strength Talent was only Superior Grade.
If a Superior Grade talent provided a fivefold increase, then what kind of boost would the Peak Grade Strength Talent of the Intermediate Gorath provide?
Just imagining it made his heart race. No wonder the beast could hunt down and kill Origin Core Realm cultivators.
"I still can’t fight it head-on."
Mo Yuan quickly abandoned the thought.
His goal wasn’t to kill the Gorath. He was only here for its talent and if he can get it without any battle that would be much better.
"I’ll wait until it falls into a deep sleep."
"With my current strength and speed, I only need to get close enough to touch it."
"The moment I copy the talent, I’ll immediately run."
He wasn’t too worried about escaping afterward. His current speed was far greater than before. What truly worried him was the brief moment when he had to leave his Shadow State to touch the Gorath.
If the beast woke up during that instant, he would be finished. However, if the Gorath was in a deep sleep, its senses should become much duller.
That would be his best chance.
"Time to move."
Mo Yuan activated his Shadow Talent and quietly headed toward the familiar cave.
A few hours later, he arrived. However, the moment he looked inside.
He froze
The cave was completely empty. There was no six-meter-tall Gorath and even its cubs were missing Only the rotting corpse of the unknown cultivator still lay against the cave wall, giving off an unpleasant smell.
Mo Yuan frowned.
"Where did they go?"
He carefully searched the surrounding area.
There were no signs of battle anywhere in the cave, it was same as the last time he came. That means Gorath family had left this area for some reason.
"This doesn’t make sense."
"Goraths usually stay in one territory for a very long time."
"Why would they suddenly abandon their cave?"
Unable to find an answer, Mo Yuan decided not to act rashly.
"I’ll wait, maybe they’re just out hunting."
So, he remained hidden nearby.
One day passed.
Nothing.
Two days...
Still nothing.
Three...
Four...
Five...
Even after waiting for five entire days, the Gorath family never returned. They disappeared, as if they never lived here.
Mo Yuan finally had to accept it, that they had really left and they are not coming back.
"They’re really gone."
He let out a helpless sigh.
"I can’t waste any more time here."
"My cultivation can’t stop because of a single beast."
He looked one last time toward the empty cave before turning around.
"I refuse to believe there’s only one Gorath with Peak Grade Strength Talent in the entire Ruined Sanctuary."
"If this one disappeared, then I’ll just find another."
With that thought, Mo Yuan disappeared into the forest once again, beginning his search for another Peak Grade Gorath.
Another week quietly passed.
During those seven days, Mo Yuan searched almost every part of the Ruined Sanctuary where Goraths were known to live.
He also found many of them.
Some were Low-Level Goraths and some had Superior Grade Strength Talent. They possessed decent Bloodline Talents but not a single one had the Peak Grade Strength Talent he was looking for.
As more time passed, Mo Yuan gradually began to lose hope.
"Was that first Gorath really the only one?"
He couldn’t help wondering.
If that was true, then all his efforts over the past week had been for nothing. Just as he was about to give up and return to Dong Hai Base, something caught his attention.
Hidden behind several enormous rocks covered in thick vines was a narrow cave entrance. The entrance blended almost perfectly with the surrounding cliff.
If someone wasn’t paying close attention, they would walk right past it without ever noticing it existed.
Mo Yuan’s eyes lit up.
"This place is really well hidden."
"If I hadn’t searched so carefully, I definitely would’ve missed it."
A trace of excitement returned to his face.
"Let’s check this one."
Without making a sound, he activated his Shadow Talent and slowly entered the cave. The deeper he went, the quieter everything became.
Soon, a massive figure appeared before him.
"It really is a Gorath!"
Mo Yuan’s heartbeat sped up.
It was another Intermediate Gorath.
However, something immediately caught his attention.
The beast was badly injured.
One of its arms was completely missing. Deep claw marks covered its chest, shoulders, and legs. Several wounds had already healed, but many were still fresh, with dried blood covering its thick fur.
Even while sleeping, its breathing sounded rough and uneven.
"At last, I have finally found another one."
"But it seems to be badly injured."
Mo Yuan carefully observed the wounds. Judging from the claw marks, they looked almost identical to those of another Gorath.
"It must have fought another Intermediate Gorath."
"And judging by these injuries, the another Gorath was of same strength, meaning it also had Peak Grade Strength Talent or maybe the another Gorath was advance level Beast"
"This is my chance."
Normally, getting close to an Intermediate Gorath was almost impossible.
Even in deep sleep, its instincts were terrifyingly sharp, but this one had suffered serious injuries. Its awareness had to be much weaker than normal.
Suppressing his excitement, Mo Yuan carefully moved forward.
One step.
Another step.
The distance between them gradually became shorter.
Five meters...
Four...
Three...
Two...
He instantly activate his Copy and Paste Talent ability
Species: Gorath
Bloodline Talent: Peak Grade
Strength Talent: Peak Grade
"Damm, this guy has two peak grade talent’s"
"Now all I need to do is copy it"
Just as he was close enough to touch the beast.
The Gorath’s eye suddenly opened. Its sharp golden gaze instantly locked onto Mo Yuan’s position. Even though he was hidden within the shadows, the beast still stared directly toward him.
Mo Yuan’s expression changed.
"Fuck, I’m dead!"
