I Ascend to the Divine Throne through Arcane Means

Chapter 1824 - 988: Brutal Battle (Part 2)

Because Demon Prince Demogorgon brought about the fall of Elf Main God Correlon, All Gods are now extremely on guard.

Previously, clashes of this sort were not unheard of.

In the past few Abyss Invasions, All Gods also fought outside the World.

The Order Gods did so to prevent the Abyss Evil Gods from further influencing Gaia World, while the Abyss Evil Gods likewise sought to pin down the Strength of the Order Gods.

After all, neither side held an overwhelming advantage, capable of striking straight into the other’s heartland.

Thus in these confrontations, it was basically the weaker Divine who fell.

Beings of Powerful Divine Power were extremely unlikely to fall.

However, Correlon’s fall sounded a warning bell for All Gods.

This time, things seem different from the several prior Abyss Invasions.

Even beings of Powerful Divine Power have truly felt the danger of Death this time.

So, in this round of Divine War outside the World, the Order Gods tread carefully, fearful of once more stepping into the Demon Prince’s trap.

Though they know that Correlon’s fall could not have been so simple, and that Demogorgon must have plotted for a very long time.

The same trick is something Demogorgon will find hard to repeat.

But... who can say for sure what is really going on?

To fall like Correlon did is to be truly, utterly fallen.

Thus, the Order Gods would rather suffer a slight loss than be dragged into peril.

And so, the first clash of the Gods’ Sword ended just like that.

When the Abyss Blood Battle fully opens, anything may happen.

Lis must also be cautious; no one knows what All Gods locked in stalemate might do.

At least for now, All Gods’ attention is still fixed on the Divine War outside the World.

He has some Space in which to maneuver.

And at this moment, Lis is in the midst of a frenzied slaughter of Abyss Demons.

This feeling of endlessly farming monsters is simply too exhilarating for Lis.

At least in the early stage of the Abyss Blood Battle, among the Abyss Demons that appear, there are not yet many truly powerful existences.

Aside from returning once to the Luou Peninsula to clear out the Abyss Demons there, Lis has stayed within the Elf Forest.

Those countless Abyss Demons—kill and kill, yet they never run out!

Yet even though all the Demigods including Lis are exterminating Abyss Demons on such a vast scale, the Destruction wrought by the Abyss Demons is still far too great.

This is something that cannot be helped; Gaia World’s expanse is simply too vast.

Even a Demigod like Lis, who specializes in Space Transmission, can only watch over a very small portion of it.

As for the other Demigods, most can only garrison the areas around important cities.

Moreover, as the Abyss Blood Battle steadily unfolds, Demon’s Gates grow ever more numerous, and the Abyss Demons emerging from them will constantly grow stronger.

In such a situation, the threat posed to ordinary folk and even to typical Transcendents is simply immense.

Countless people die beneath the onslaught of Abyss Demons, their homes laid waste.

On the fringes of the Luou Peninsula,

there lies a small city once tranquil and peaceful, but at this moment it has already fallen into a Human Purgatory ravaged by Abyss Demons.

A fissure of the Endless Abyss has torn open a ferocious rent across the sky, and Demons pour down in tides through the Void rift.

In barely half a day’s time, this defenseless little city is completely Devoured by Abyss Demons, bereft of even the slightest trace of its former vitality.

The broken city walls have long since shattered, heavy stone bricks smashed to powder by the Demons’ immense Strength.

Beneath the roots of the sundered walls, heaps of corpses of the city’s soldiers and civilians lie piled high.

Mutilated limbs are scattered everywhere, bright red Blood gathering into trickling streams, running unchecked along the cracks in the cobblestone paths, soaking every inch of Earth.

The air is thick with a cloying stench of blood, rot, and the Demons’ unique sulfur reek—so pungent it makes one’s eyes water and stomach churn.

The windmill at the street corner has crashed down, the mill, tavern, and shops all destroyed; the once bustling, smoke-and-fire life of the marketplace has been utterly replaced by the dead silence of the Abyss.

Blood has pooled into basins in the low-lying spots, mirroring the gray, dim sky above.

From time to time a Demon tramples through, sending up foul, reeking sprays of Blood, staining the once-clean cobblestones a shocking dark red.

Countless Low-level Abyssal Demons wander the ruined city, their forms grotesque and terrifying.

Tusked timid demons swing their claws, rummaging through the rubble for survivors, rampaging through streets and alleys as they vent their innate lust for Destruction.

Once filled with laughter and joy, the small city of Anning has now become a dead graveyard; every inch of Earth is soaked in Blood, every corner harbors Destruction and despair.

The Abyss’s Darkness has entirely enshrouded this place, with not a single ray of hope for life remaining—only ruin everywhere and endless carnage, silently recounting the annihilating calamity brought by the Abyss Demons.

At the same time, a hundred-strong squad, their Equipment top-notch, races in following the trail of Demonic Qi.

Without the slightest hesitation, they push through the choking stench of Blood and sulfur, Charging at full speed straight toward the city turned Purgatory.

This great commotion instantly alarms the Demons roaming within the walls.

The Demons halt what they were doing, their scarlet eyes locking tightly onto this sudden Human squad.

Ferocious, mad roars rasp from their throats as they brandish claws and heft Bone Blades, surging toward the squad like a black tide.

Facing the surging Demons, the hundred-strong squad remains perfectly composed, displaying flawless coordination and professional discipline.

The warriors clad in Heavy Armor and wielding giant shield and Longsword are first to form up; heavy Shield press tightly together, forming an unbreakable ring-shaped Defense line.
