Although her husbands wanted to make sure Luan would not hurt Roxanna, it was so hard to do that.

The beastman cat had gone completely wild. He kept trying to bite any hand that got close to him. Calen’s hands alone got bitten more than ten times before he finally managed to stuff something in Luan’s mouth and wrap a cloth tightly around his face so he couldn’t bite anymore.

"You bad cat!" Calen pushed Luan’s shoulders down when he tried to get up. "We’re only doing this to help you! So be good!"

Roxanna watched them struggle to hold Luan down and couldn’t help thinking he looked just like one of her old cats, the ones that always went crazy every time she took them to the vet.

The veterinarian even sometimes had to sedate the cat so they could examine him easily.

"It would be so much easier if he was actually a real cat," Roxanna sighed and shook her head a few times.

"I think he’s ready for a warm hug now," Calen said to her.

Roxanna slowly walked toward him. She knew she could heal herself if Luan accidentally hurt her, but she still didn’t want him to go through something like that.

In a way, what was happening to him felt a lot like what Calen and Zeir had gone through back in the Aquillian Kingdom.

"Luan, I don’t want to hurt you," Roxanna said softly as she stepped closer to him.

Roxanna slowly wrapped her arms around him. Her warm body pressed gently against his. The moment she held him close, her passive skill activated and cut his stress by 40%.

A small wave of calm washed through him, but it wasn’t enough.

Luan’s heat still burned beneath his skin, but he was finally able to breathe a little more slowly.

His trembling gradually eased as he buried his face against Roxanna’s shoulder. His emerald eyes were still clouded with instinct, yet for the first time since his heat had begun, there was a flicker of recognition in them.

"Rox...Roxa...nna."

The word came out as nothing more than a muffled growl through the cloth covering his mouth.

Roxanna gently stroked his messy black hair. "I’m here," she whispered. "You’re not alone."

Luan let out a low whine. His body remained painfully tense, every muscle tight as if he were fighting against himself.

"I-I’m sorry..." Luan mumbled.

Roxanna gently pulled the cloth from his mouth so she could hear him clearly.

"I’m sorry..." he repeated, his voice clearer this time. His eyes were filled with guilt. "I didn’t mean to... I didn’t mean to hurt you."

His mind was in complete chaos, making it hard for him to speak without repeating himself.

Roxanna reached up and cupped his face, gently brushing his cheeks with her thumbs. "It’s alright," she said softly. "We’ll get through this together."

"It would be better if... if you stabbed me instead," Luan growled through gritted teeth, trying to hold back the feral instinct that was fighting to take over. "I might... I might hurt you again."

Roxanna took a slow breath and looked straight into his eyes. "I can heal quickly. Just as quickly as your desire returns."

"Luan," she called softly, "if you keep trying to suppress your heat, you’ll turn feral. We have to mate now, or... I might lose you."

Luan let out another low growl and turned his face away from her. "If we do that, I... I can’t promise I’ll be gentle. I don’t want to hurt you."

"You’ve done so much for me since the day I came here," Roxanna said. She took another deep breath before continuing, "So this time... let me be the one to save you, Luan."

Luan’s breathing grew heavier. He kept his eyes turned away, afraid that the moment he looked at Roxanna again, the last bit of control he had left would disappear.

"But... but it will be hard," Luan said.

Roxanna smiled gently. "That’s not a problem. I’m pretty persistent."

Luan’s shoulders trembled. He had spent so much of his life believing he had to endure everything alone, whether it was pain, hunger, or loneliness. Even now, his first thought wasn’t about himself, but about protecting her.

Roxanna gently rested her forehead against his. "You’ve protected me more times than I can count," she said softly. "So let me protect you this time."

The room fell silent. Calen, Zeir, and Cyrus exchanged uneasy glances.

After a moment, Zeir finally spoke. "We can keep him tied up like this for a while, but you have to be the one to do the job first." He looked at Roxanna seriously. "After that, he’ll probably calm down, and you can untie him."

Cyrus added, "We’ll be outside the room. If you think you can’t handle him anymore, just scream, and we’ll come in right away."

Calen frowned before asking, "Why don’t we just stay here instead?"

The others looked at him strangely, even Cyrus, who didn’t mind threesomes.

"This is a crucial time," Cyrus said. "If you interrupt the mating of a beast in heat, Luan won’t be able to recover completely, and it will only make Roxanna even more exhausted."

Calen, who finally realized why everyone was looking at him so strangely, immediately shouted, "Hey! I only meant that we could stay here and observe them up close! I never said we had to join their mating session!"

"Who could stand here and watch without doing anything?" Cyrus said as he walked over and pushed Calen toward the door. "The sky would probably split in half if any of us could do that. Come on. Let’s just wait outside."

On the other side, Zeir calmly placed a stone dagger in the corner of the room before turning to Roxanna.

"As long as you don’t stab one of his vital organs, he’ll be fine," he said calmly. After a brief pause, he added, "No one will blame you if something goes wrong."

The way Zeir said it made it sound as though even if Roxanna accidentally sent Luan to the afterlife, no one would hold it against her.

Luan looked a little offended by that. Roxanna, on the other hand, could only let out an awkward laugh.

"It’s alright. It’s alright," she said with a small wave of her hand. "I’ll do my best not to use it."
