Chapter 229:Soul Capacity

Silver smiled.

"That’s why I wanted to show you."

Ravenna looked at him.

"You trust me with this?"

The question was quieter than the others. Silver understood what she really meant.

After everything they had gone through, after the revelation about the System and his past life, there was still a part of Ravenna that feared being manipulated.

Silver stepped closer.

"Yes."

She looked into his eyes.

"I don’t know how many secrets I’ll eventually have to tell you, but I don’t want to hide everything but sometimes things might become inevitable."

Ravenna’s expression softened.

"I appreciate that."

Silver nodded.

"I just need time, you don’t have to fully trust me but hold some faith in me."

"I know."

She reached for his hand and he took it. For several seconds, neither spoke, then Ravenna smiled.

"So..."

"Hm?"

"When are you checking my stats? I still don’t know my soul Capacity. "

Silver laughed.

"You really don’t waste time."

"Of course not." She squeezed his hand. "If you can actually see them, I want to know."

Silver smiled.

"Later."

"Why later?"

"Because I want to do it somewhere private and when we’ve fully sat down. What if the shock becomes too much."

Ravenna nodded.

"Fine." She looked toward the city again. "The sanctuary is already interesting, let’s enjoy the view first them."

Silver followed her gaze. He couldn’t disagree. The sanctuary was filled with opportunities.

Silver didn’t know exactly what would happen next, nut he knew one thing; he had another ability that could help him understand the people standing in his path.

Silver looked at Ravenna. Whatever came next, he wouldn’t face it alone.

They stayed on the balcony for a little while longer, just enjoying the breeze and the controlled noise.

The sun had begun to soften, casting long shadows between the buildings by the time they walked back inside. From inside room, Silver could see the enormous sanctuary continuing far beyond what he could properly make out. Even from this height, the place seemed endless.

Ravenna eventually turned away from the balcony.

"So."

Silver looked at her.

"You said later."

"Yeah? I wasn’t lying."

"It’s later now, check them."

Silver laughed.

"Aren’t you impatient, an hour hasn’t passed yet. I wanted us to atleast eat dinner first"

"Of course I am, this is something I’ve wanted to know." She walked toward the center of the room and stopped. "Well?"

Silver stared at her.

"You’re really serious."

"Yes."

"You aren’t nervous?"

Ravenna thought about it.

"Should I be?"

"I don’t know."

She shrugged.

"I already know I’m talented."

Silver smiled.

"You’re one confident woman."

"I have a reason to be."

She had a point.

Ravenna had awakened with an excellent Soul Capacity and had already reached Rank Two before their journey had taken them this far. Her growth had been considerably faster than that of most ordinary Contractors.

Still, Silver knew that numbers could sometimes reveal things a person didn’t expect. He looked at her.

"Stand still for a second."

Ravenna frowned.

"Do you need an exact position or something, that’s going to prove hectic if it requires something, you..."

"Just do it."

She sighed.

"Fine."

Silver focused.

[Soul Insight Lv1.]

The sensation was different from when he requested the system for her stats. The world around her became slightly clearer, then information appeared.

Silver stared. He had seen her previous information before, but this was different. Her attributes had increased, synchronization had improved, even her affection had gone up.

The numbers weren’t simply a record of her physical condition. They were a reflection of everything that had happened between them and how fast she had grown as a person in general. And he trust that was returning.

Silver’s expression softened.

Ravenna noticed.

"What?"

Silver didn’t answer immediately. She narrowed her eyes.

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

"Your stats."

"What about them?"

Silver looked directly into her eyes.

"They’re really good, like really really good."

Ravenna blinked. For a moment, she didn’t react, then she started laughing until it became full blown. It took a minute to for her to calm down.

"I told you I was talented... should I get a second beast then?"

"Yes."

Her eyes widened.

"You sure?"

"I’m sure, your stats are stable and you’ve gotten used to your element, we could find an Agility or strength type, just anything that you see fit."

Ravenna stared at him, then she looked down at herself.

"You think so, I’ve been thinking about it but I wasn’t too sure, I didn’t want to hurry it up."

Silver smiled.

"If you’re not sure about it, we can still wait, this is your soul so it’s important."

"This gives me a little more courage but I’ll wait and see, fate has a way of showing you when you’re needed."

"But judging by your attributes, you should be fine."

Ravenna slowly smiled.

"You’re making me more eager than I should have been."

There was something almost childish about the way she repeated it.

Silver found it adorable.

"You knew you had the talent."

"I knew I was strong." She raised her chin slightly. "But I didn’t know exactly where I stood."

Silver nodded.

"That’s understandable."

Ravenna looked at him.

"And my Soul Capacity?"

Silver paused.

"Nineteen."

Silence filled the room. Ravenna’s eyes widened.

"Nineteen?"

Silver nodded.

"Nineteen."

She stared at him.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes."

"Completely sure it’s nineteen not nine?"

He nodded.

"So you weren’t joking the first time..."

He nodded.

"So you weren’t joking the first time..."

Ravenna’s mouth slowly opened, then closed, before looking away. For several seconds, she said nothing.

Silver waited.

He wondered if she was going into shock, then, a smile appeared on her face, a delighted smile.
