I Have A Dual World Seal

Chapter 1183 - 1182: Si Lingxi’s Interest in History and Culture

Speaking of Dragon Ball, it seems like a Dragon Ball Movie just got released recently.

Unfortunately, none of the girls were interested.

So the night passed without much to say, and Lu Zheng dutifully fulfilled his marital obligations.

The next morning, the spirited Liu Qingyan returned to Renxin Hall for her clinic duty, while Shen Ying and Si Lingxi dragged Lu Zheng across Blue Star.

Seeing Shen Ying and Si Lingxi surfing the internet on their phones, Lu Zheng lay on the sofa recovering, casually racking up a triple kill while wondering aloud, "Where to tomorrow?"

Lately, Si Lingxi and Shen Ying, when not browsing online at home, have been dragging Lu Zheng around on trips.

They don’t need to take buses or planes, as soon as they’re interested, they just set off, tour around for the day, and return home by night.

In just over half a month, they’ve hit several tourist hotspots, like climbing the Five Mountains in five days, traversing the Taklamakan Desert, Cang Mountain and Erhai, and Changbai Mountain in just three days—routine operations.

After a bit of exertion yesterday, they slept in today, but for tomorrow’s plans, Lu Zheng decided to ask for suggestions.

"Didn’t you mention Africa last time?" Shen Ying thought aloud.

Lu Zheng rubbed his chin, "I did say something about going to the African savannah to see the animals; interested?"

Si Lingxi shook her head, "Not interested."

Lu Zheng, "..."

Having seen all sorts of natural wonders and magical creatures, Si Lingxi was more intrigued by cultural history.

As one of the continuous ancient civilizations, Hua Country, though its history isn’t lengthy, preserves its heritage quite well—something that fascinates Si Lingxi.

Besides novels, Si Lingxi browses Hua’s historical texts online, and museums are must-visits on her travels.

When visiting Lu Zheng’s parents in Xijing, they toured the Qin Province Museum.

On their trip to Beidu, they visited The Forbidden City Museum and the National Museum.

While climbing the Five Mountains, they also visited museums in Yu, Lu, Jin, and Xiang provinces.

Even places like the Western Regions, Cang Mountain and Erhai, and Changbai Mountain Lake have their own histories.

Hua people have been chronicling history throughout the ages, a continuous tradition.

But what’s there on the African savannah? Those tribes preserving primitive customs?

Alright, Lu Zheng doesn’t discriminate—it’s a form of civilization too. But clearly, Si Lingxi isn’t interested in that kind of culture.

"What about the pyramids?" Shen Ying suddenly chimed in, "Pharaoh Country is part of Africa too, right? It’s one of the four great ancient civilizations, even older than Hua."

Si Lingxi calmly replied, "Other than the immovable pyramids, for learning about Ancient Egypt’s history and relics, Europe’s museums are better."

Ouch...

"Pharaoh Country’s Pyramid Museum does have some stuff, though," Shen Ying noted, then added after a pause, "Of course not as complete as Europe’s."

That hurt even more...

"Though people say Pharaoh Country’s artifacts are in Europe, the establishment of the Pyramid Museum did openly curb much of the artifact outflow back in the day," Lu Zheng stated, trying to salvage. "For instance, Tutankhamun’s Golden Mask."

Si Lingxi thought for a moment, nodding, "Let’s check it out then."

...

Upon hearing they were traveling to Pharaoh Country, Lin Wan and Liu Qingyan wanted to come along too.

So the next morning, Lu Zheng took off with the four ladies, soaring across half of Blue Star to reach Pharaoh Country’s capital, Cairo.

Before even entering the city, they hovered in mid-air to tour the renowned Great Pyramid of Giza and Sphinx.

Then they descended onto a relatively bustling street, steering clear of the slums.

Truthfully, besides its exotic flair, the city’s infrastructure was mediocre.

As Pharaoh Country’s largest city, its infrastructure lagged behind Hai City, its roads crowded, its population dense, and outside of specific areas, it didn’t even match Hua’s second or third-tier cities.

"You’ve never been to Cairo either?" Lu Zheng asked, glancing at Lin Wan, who was curiously observing her surroundings.

"Except for a few fleeting visits delivering artifacts to the Pyramid Museum," Lin Wan shook her head, "I’ve never been here for business, nor have any domestic suspects fled to Cairo."

"Honestly, the place feels a bit like Mumbai in Country A—truly prosperous in certain parts, yet disorderly in others."

Lin Wan glanced around, "To be fair, even Hai City has its old districts; it’s just that its infrastructure and security are undeniably better."

While strolling through the city, they encountered many fellow Hua residents speaking Mandarin. It’s no secret that Pharaoh Country is a hotspot for international tourism.

After all...

Few countries boast a historical legacy comparable to Hua’s.

Pharaoh Country is certainly one of them.

Though Ancient Pharaoh Country’s civilization has died out, its relics remain.

The group planned to take a look around.

The first stop, naturally, was the Pyramid Museum.

The Pyramid Museum is Pharaoh Country’s largest and oldest museum, housing numerous relics from the pre-dynastic era to the Roman period, with a history surpassing that of Hua’s.

Thanks to the Light of Fortune, Lu Zheng’s Arabic was now maxed out, so he smoothly got the tickets and they queued up to enter the museum.

It seemed unremarkable from the outside, but the exhibits inside were quite impressive.

Tall stone pillars, intricate murals, exquisite sculptures, steles with indecipherable scripts, various sarcophagi, and stone carvings.

A completely different style from Hua’s historical artifacts, yet exuding an ancient beauty and majesty.

Of course, perhaps due to the stone artifacts’ durability against time, the first-floor exhibits had no protective measures, accessible to touch.

Lu Zheng didn’t mind—it made sense, as stone carvings are resilient against the ravages of time. Leaving them out was fine.

He reached out to touch a life-sized statue, "The thing is, why aren’t there any artifact descriptions? Are they forcing us to get a guide?"

"The guide probably wouldn’t know which Pharaoh this statue depicts," Si Lingxi shook her head, "A discontinued civilization lacks reference materials—unless it’s someone famous, much information is lost."

Lu Zheng nodded, and they continued their tour, quickly covering the first floor.

"The second floor is the artifact gallery, mainly featuring funerary items and..."

"Mummies!"

Shen Ying grimaced, "It feels strange for a ghost to look at the dead."

The group, "..."

As they headed upstairs, a group was descending, and as they passed by, they exchanged quick glances before parting.

Not far from them, one person discreetly adjusted his collar, murmuring softly, "All targets confirmed, move tonight."
