Chapter 465: Be Wary of Cecily Taylor
’Tch... She just washes her hands of everything the moment something goes wrong. This woman is so sly.’
Claire Sinclair felt a little sorry for Cecily Taylor’s assistant. She had tried to curry favor with her boss, only to end up taking the fall. It was tragic and pitiful.
The show was still being recorded. Adrian Quincy’s arrival and departure hadn’t affected its progress.
The recording session lasted over three hours, and the contestants finally completed their third public performance evaluation. After combining the results with the professional ethics assessment, Mimi Fisher came to Hall One holding the final scorecards.
The end of this performance meant that 15 people would be eliminated, leaving only 35 contestants.
Mimi Fisher read out the names of the top 35, one by one. The contestants whose names weren’t called were eliminated.
When the day’s recording session finally wrapped up, Claire Sinclair was getting ready to head home, but Cecily Taylor suddenly stopped her. "Professor Sinclair, it’s rare for Young Master Quincy to visit Scylla City. Aren’t you planning on introducing him to us? We should at least have a meal together, right?"
’Introduce him to her? Why should I?’
Claire Sinclair thought the woman had a lot of nerve, but she kept it to herself and simply said, "Mr. Quincy is very busy. I’ll ask him if he has any time when I get back."
"He has to make time! Young Master Quincy is the future president, after all," Cecily Taylor said, half-joking. "If I could be friends with a president, I’d be willing to quit the entertainment industry for it."
Mimi Fisher unexpectedly interjected, "Young Master Quincy isn’t from the same world as us. What good would knowing him do? Besides, Young Master Quincy and Professor Sinclair have such a good relationship, and you’re insisting that she introduce you. Professor Taylor, don’t you think that’s a bit inappropriate?"
Hearing this, Cecily Taylor was both embarrassed and furious. "Young Master Quincy is a presidential candidate! I want to meet him purely because of his status. Are you saying you don’t want to meet him?"
Mimi Fisher sneered, "In that case, I would first get on good terms with Professor Sinclair, not directly ask a woman to introduce you to her boyfriend."
Cecily Taylor was so thoroughly rebuffed she was rendered speechless.
Claire Sinclair laughed to herself. ’That’s strange. Why is Mimi Fisher confronting Cecily Taylor head-on today? She’s usually so good-natured.’
Sensing the thick tension between them, Master stepped in to mediate. "Professor Taylor was probably just curious. I doubt she had any ulterior motives."
Claire Sinclair also took the opportunity to add, "It’s alright, it’s alright. As long as Mr. Quincy has the time, I’ll be sure to bring him to meet everyone. His daily life is rather monotonous, so it would be good for him to meet more friends from different industries."
Although her words were polite, to Cecily Taylor, it sounded like Claire was deliberately showing off.
A storm of fury was already brewing in Cecily Taylor’s heart, but she could only suppress it. "See, Professor Sinclair understands me. Well, I’ll be heading back now. See you tomorrow."
With that, Cecily Taylor quickly left.
Master patted Mimi Fisher’s shoulder, said nothing, and left as well.
Mimi Fisher turned to Claire Sinclair and offered a well-intentioned warning. "Claire Sinclair, maybe I’m not in a position to be friends with you and Young Master Quincy, but as a fellow mentor, I want to give you a heads-up: watch out for Cecily Taylor."
"Huh?" Claire Sinclair was a little confused.
Mimi Fisher added, "There are some things I can’t say much about. The mentors have a new task tomorrow. Good luck."
With that, she turned and left.
Claire Sinclair blinked. Her intuition told her that Mimi Fisher held no ill will toward her. Unlike other petty people who badmouthed others behind their backs, she was simply warning her to be wary of Cecily Taylor.
’Could it be that she accidentally found something out?’
’Regardless, I’ll have to be on guard against a woman like Cecily Taylor.’
