Chapter 519: I Give Up

Sheryl Drake had a look of pure excitement, like someone just there to watch the show. "The contestants wanted to see who could last longer in a push-up contest. It’s been over ten minutes, and they’re still neck and neck."

’Over ten minutes...’

Claire’s heart ached for him. Seeing her husband straining, she couldn’t help but shout, "Mr. Quincy, you can do it!"

Adrian Quincy glanced up at her, but to maintain his breathing, he didn’t speak.

Ethan Kingsley heard her voice and also looked up. A handsome curve formed on his lips, and he seemed to gain a new burst of motivation, his expression remaining composed.

Claire naturally didn’t want Ethan to win, but she wouldn’t resort to any tricks to interfere. She crouched down in front of her husband, meeting his gaze.

"Mr. Quincy, I want you to beat him."

Adrian Quincy gave a slight nod. He didn’t need her to say it; he was going to win. He had no intention of losing to a rival—not in push-ups, and not in the election.

A bead of sweat happened to roll into his dark eye, causing him to blink in discomfort.

Claire thoughtfully wiped the sweat from his forehead. She didn’t speak, not wanting to break his rhythm.

Seeing this, the contestants and the other mentors got fired up and started teasing them. "Professor Sinclair, have you no consideration for us single people?"

"Professor Sinclair’s public displays of affection are always top-tier."

"Mr. Quincy, keep it up!"

"Why don’t you two kiss!"

"Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!"

Claire raised an eyebrow and glanced back at the group of troublemakers, but she didn’t say anything. Instead, she silently leaned over and kissed her husband on the cheek.

Her action triggered another round of rowdy cheers from the contestants.

Ethan Kingsley finally couldn’t take it anymore. He dropped to his knees, then got up, glaring at the couple who were constantly flaunting their affection. "That’s enough, you two," he said, feigning complaint. "I give up."

Adrian Quincy did two more push-ups before sitting up. He elegantly leaned down and gave her a peck on the lips.

Claire’s face flushed, and she shyly lowered her head.

A smile touched Adrian Quincy’s lips. He took her arm, helping her up. "Everyone, please excuse us for a moment."

With that, he led his darling wife to the locker room.

Ethan Kingsley watched the two of them with great interest, his eyes holding a profound, unreadable meaning.

Sheryl Drake reminded him, "Young Master Kingsley, aren’t you going to get changed?"

Ethan Kingsley smiled faintly. "I’ll wait for them to come out. I’d rather not be a third wheel."

Sheryl Drake seized the opportunity to gossip. "I heard you’re my cousin-in-law’s ex-boyfriend?"

Ethan Kingsley sighed, adopting an air of someone who had seen through the vanities of the world. "I’d love to be her ex-boyfriend, but she never even acknowledged it. The great Star Reporter Sinclair only has eyes for your cousin, not me."

Sheryl Drake laughed at him. "I can’t tell you’re jealous at all."

Ethan Kingsley admitted it freely. "You saw right through me. That’s right, Claire Sinclair and I never even started. Does that satisfy your curiosity?"

Sheryl Drake nodded in satisfaction. "I really wish you’d stop changing the women by your side. Wouldn’t it be better to focus on just one?"

Ethan Kingsley couldn’t help but sigh. "When you haven’t found someone you truly like, it’s hard to focus."

Hearing this, Sheryl Drake frowned. She said meaningfully, "If you don’t take women seriously, I don’t think you can ever beat Adrian. Excuse me."

With that, Sheryl Drake turned and walked out, phone in hand.

The contestants, having overheard the tense conversation between the two, didn’t dare to speak.

A short while later, Adrian Quincy emerged from the locker room, fully dressed. Claire was by his side, and they returned to the recording set together.

Ethan Kingsley glanced at them before heading into the locker room.
