"Jiang, we’re not going home until we’re drunk tonight! Tomorrow, I’ll arrange for three newly debuted trainees to help you properly practice the Korean language."

"Excellent. In that case, thank you, Chairman Jin." Jiang Anye was looking forward to his "foreign language lesson" tomorrow. After all, his Korean was a bit rusty, and he really could use a refresher course.

Besides, this was a kind gesture from Chairman Jin. ’How could I possibly refuse his hospitality!’

Late that night, after eating and drinking their fill, Jiang Anye and his companions were checked into a large nearby hotel to rest.

But he had no idea that someone else would have a sleepless night.

「Pingtung County, Great Ryukyu.」

Inside a private villa.

An old man with a naturally imposing air adjusted his glasses, his expression grim as he stared at the package that had been delivered that afternoon.

When he first received the text message at noon, he had assumed it was some kind of prank or a new type of scam.

But, unexpectedly, a package had actually arrived that afternoon. Though he doubted the message’s claims, he still chose to open it alone in his study.

Upon opening the package, he found a thick stack of paper documents inside. The old man didn’t pay it much mind at first, but after he finished browsing the first page, his face turned livid.

"Excellent..." the old man seethed, flipping to the next page. When he saw the compromising photos of his "canary" with Jiang Anye, and the paternity test report, he almost had a stroke.

However, he quickly calmed himself down. ’I can’t get worked up. Otherwise, I won’t be able to rest in peace.’

As he continued reading, he found numerous photos of his so-called son together with Jiang Anye—photos he had never seen before. He immediately recalled how his son’s attitude toward him had always been lukewarm over the years.

After gathering everything and locking it in his safe, he sat in his chair and began to think.

’Calm down! First, the photos could have been doctored, and the paternity test could be a forgery. It’s possible someone is deliberately trying to sow discord. But confirming it is simple enough. I just need to get another paternity test done.’

’But I can’t tip them off. If that woman and Jiang Anye find out, it will be a huge mess. And if this is all fake, it will damage my relationship with my son. I must plan this carefully.’

’How can I get a paternity test done discreetly? Wait, I know... I can do this...’

「Early the next morning.」

The old man went to work as usual.

After arriving at his office.

Half an hour later, a young man appeared discreetly before him.

"Uncle, you were looking for me?"

"Ah Wen, you’re the one I trust most. I need you to do something for me..."

After listening to his uncle’s instructions, Ah Wen’s eyes widened. "This? Uncle, could someone be trying to sow discord?"

"That’s why I need you to handle this secretly. If the test results show no issues, then all the better. But if he really isn’t my..." The old man didn’t finish his sentence, but the chill in his eyes told Ah Wen everything he needed to know.

"Alright, I’ll arrange it as soon as possible."

"Good. Remember to be discreet. Don’t make a scene."

"I know what to do."

Ah Wen returned to his farm and called over a few of his trusted men.

At noon, after school let out at Pingtung Middle School.

Gao Siqi, who had just left school, was standing under a nearby tree, waiting for the private car his father arranged to pick him up. He glanced at his watch. ’Strange, why is it late today?’

Just then, two nearby passersby suddenly started arguing. The argument quickly turned into a physical fight, and they moved rapidly closer to Gao Siqi.

SMASH! One of them, red-faced with anger, smashed a beer bottle and lunged at the other man with its sharp, broken edge.

The other man, seeing things were going badly, shoved the dazed Gao Siqi toward the one holding the broken bottle.

"Ah—" Gao Siqi’s wrist was slashed open.

The two men quickly disappeared down a side alley, still chasing one another.

At the same time, a Land Rover pulled up near Gao Siqi, who was clutching his wound. Ah Wen jumped out of the car, his face etched with worry. "Ah Qi, what happened to you?"

Pale and still in shock, Gao Siqi replied, "Ah... I don’t know. Two guys were fighting, and I got cut."

"Damn it! I won’t let those punks get away with this. But first, let’s get you to the hospital."

In the car, Gao Siqi’s face was contorted in pain as Ah Wen squeezed at the cut. "Alright, I’ve squeezed some blood out. Now, just put pressure on the wound."

Ah Wen casually stuffed the few blood-soaked tissues into his pocket, then drove Gao Siqi to a nearby hospital.

On the way.

"Your dad’s driver had an upset stomach today. I happened to be with your dad, so I offered to swing by and pick you up. I never expected something like this to happen."

"I’m fine, Cousin."

"We’re definitely going to the hospital. It would be bad if it got infected. You have your college entrance exams next year; you can’t afford to get sick."

"Whatever you say, Cousin."

Soon, the two of them arrived at the hospital.

While a nurse was treating Gao Siqi’s wound, he put the tissues from his pocket into a sealed bag and went to an office.

The doctor there took off his mask. "Old classmate, what can I do for you?"

"Do me a favor. Run a paternity test on these two blood samples. The sooner, the better."

Looking at the blood-soaked tissues in the sealed bag and a vial of blood, the doctor adjusted his glasses. "In such a hurry?"

Ah Wen nodded. "Extremely. Also, no matter the result, you can’t breathe a word of this to anyone."

"I can do that. You’ll have the results within six hours."

Ah Wen asked in a low voice, "Same account as before?"

"Mhm."

"I’ll transfer it over in a bit."

At dusk, the setting sun was the color of blood.

Still in his office, the old man stood quietly by the window, watching the crimson sunset. His face looked calm, but inwardly, he was consumed by anxiety.

KNOCK KNOCK...

"Come in."

Ah Wen’s expression was grim.

Seeing this, the old man took a deep breath. "What are the results?"

"There is no biological paternal relationship," Ah Wen said slowly.

"Hah... Excellent." The old man’s last shred of hope died. He cast aside the final illusion he’d been clinging to, and his eyes filled with nothing but icy killing intent.

"Uncle! You must take care of your health!"

"I know. I won’t collapse until I’ve taken care of this business." The old man clenched his fists. He had been blessed with a son late in life and had always treasured him, only to find out he’d been raising another man’s child. And that bastard even knew about his real father—they had even gone on trips together.
