I Took A Succubus's First Time

Chapter 429: Kazuhiro’s interference, Part 1

"I always knew you were impulsive," Kazuhiro said, "but I didn’t expect you to actually attempt something like this. You’re attacking completely out in the open as well."

"I’m not an angel anymore," Via replied.

He spread his arms slightly, looking almost proud of the fact.

"I’m completely fallen now, after all. The rules about hiding the existence of angels and demons and what have you and keeping our affairs away from ordinary people don’t apply to me anymore. I can do whatever the fuck I want. I can even curse now."

Via sounded genuinely delighted by that last part.

Kazuhiro stared at him for a moment before shaking his head.

"You were always like this, even when you were an angel," Kazuhiro said. "You haven’t changed one bit, I see."

Kazuhiro knew Via from long before the man became a fallen angel.

Their history went much further back than this particular confrontation. They had met before Via had fallen from the Heavens, back when he was still considered an angel, and Kazuhiro had already understood at that time that Via was someone who shouldn’t be underestimated.

Via had always been incredibly strong.

He had been strong enough that Kazuhiro himself had struggled to defeat him during their previous confrontations. In terms of raw physical strength, Kazuhiro had the advantage, but that advantage had never been enough to guarantee victory.

Via’s unpredictability was the real problem.

His behavior during battle was so strange that Kazuhiro could never completely figure out what he was going to do next. Even when Kazuhiro had the superior strength, Via’s bizarre movements and sudden changes in strategy could throw him off badly enough to ruin his opportunities.

That was precisely why defeating Via had always been such a frustrating task.

"Oh, really?" Via said, his grin returning. "Then shall we test that and see which one of us is actually stronger? We could settle it properly and fight it out."

"You really think you’d be able to accomplish anything against me?" Kazuhiro asked.

His tone remained calm, although the warning behind his words was obvious.

"You should also be careful about underestimating the brat. Although he still isn’t capable of defeating you by himself, do you really think you’ll be able to defeat both of us at the same time?"

Kazuhiro had a point.

Under normal circumstances, he couldn’t confidently say that he would defeat Via alone. Via clearly hadn’t changed much since the last time they had fought, and his unpredictable fighting style remained as troublesome as ever.

However, the situation was different now.

Kouhei was standing beside him.

Even if Kouhei couldn’t defeat Via by himself, having another capable fighter present could significantly change the battle. Via’s unpredictable movements were difficult to deal with when focusing on one opponent, but having two people attack from different directions would make it much harder for him to freely move around.

"You sure have changed," Via said with an amused expression. "You’re actually willing to team up with a brat just to defeat me. You even came here specifically to stop me from doing this."

"Well, he’s none other than my son-in-law, so I had to interfere," Kazuhiro replied.

Via stared at him for a moment.

Then he burst into laughter.

"Kuhahahahahaha! You came here to save your son-in-law?! I never expected someone like you to make a statement like that! I honestly didn’t think something like that would ever be possible, but I see it now!"

Via continued laughing as though Kazuhiro had just told him the funniest joke imaginable.

"Well, I suppose that explains why he was together with a woman from the Sarushima family! I’m assuming that’s your daughter if that’s the case!"

"That’s right," Kazuhiro answered.

His expression remained surprisingly composed despite Via’s ridiculous reaction.

"So, if you’re looking for your final resting place, then I’d advise you to stop here and scram."

The atmosphere immediately became heavier.

Via’s smile remained, but his eyes shifted around the area.

"I would’ve had a lot of fun killing this brat right in front of you, but..."

Via slowly looked around.

Only then did he fully take in the situation surrounding him.

Kazuhiro wasn’t the only powerful person present.

There were also numerous high-ranking demons surrounding the area. Their presence had been easy to overlook during the chaos of the battle, but now that Via had stopped to properly examine his surroundings, it became obvious that he was heavily outnumbered.

If all of those powerful demons were prepared to attack him alongside Kazuhiro and Kouhei, then staying behind and continuing the fight would be a terrible idea.

Via could probably cause a great deal of damage before being overwhelmed, but surviving an encounter against that many powerful opponents would be considerably more difficult than fighting Kouhei alone.

He clicked his tongue softly before letting out another amused laugh.

"Well, I guess it was all fun and games, but it looks like it has ended now."

Via spread his wings wide behind him.

He was preparing to leave.

Before taking off, however, he turned his head toward Kouhei one last time.

His expression became noticeably more sinister.

"You’re dead the next time we meet, so make sure you look forward to that."

Via slowly licked his lips before raising one hand.

He dragged his thumb across his own neck in a deliberate cutting gesture, making his threat perfectly clear without needing to explain himself any further.

Then he slapped his wings downward with tremendous force.

The resulting burst of wind kicked dust and debris into the air as Via’s body shot upward. He rapidly gained altitude, moving toward the clouds at an incredible speed.

Within moments, he disappeared into the sky.

Kouhei remained where he was, staring upward at the clouds while trying to process everything that had just happened. The battle had ended almost as quickly as it had begun, and the sudden appearance of Kazuhiro had completely changed the situation.

Kazuhiro also continued looking toward the sky where Via had disappeared.
