Inari wants to live in peace

Episode 24 Hokkaido (4) Fireworks

Fireworks Artisan

Time passed, and it was the fall of the eleventh year of Eternal Loc.

As I announced, at the Inari Festival in Edo, new artifacts will be displayed.

As a result, visitors from all over Japan arrived, and the inn was filled with rooms from a few days before the event, and the whole of Edo was wrapped in great enthusiasm.

Although there are rough plans for the Inari Festival, a night festival will be held from the evening of the first day.

Work through a year of hard work with a full range of free street food to cultivate wisdom for next year.

And when the sun goes down, the first fireworks tournament will begin at the riverside of the Arakawa River.

On the second day of the festival, the annual Inari god rides the shrine around Edo.

When you return to the Taisha Shrine before sundown, the Inari whale lottery, which was launched simultaneously nationwide, begins.

Even those who could not come to confirm, the winning number is communicated to Inari shrines everywhere after the festival, and there is no problem because it can be exchanged there.

The executive committee sees hell without exception because everything is full for the first time, but decides not to touch that point.

Meanwhile, our craftsmen were asked to work by Inari God, making fireworks from the beginning of summer to autumn without taking a break.

Although it was strictly forbidden to fire, there were a number of explosions of gunpowder in the middle of unfamiliar work, the conductor wire did not catch fire, unevenness appeared in the spread when it exploded, and many materials were used to immerse themselves in trial and error.

Therefore, it is never a sail full of wind.

It was a painful journey with mountains and valleys, but I managed to make it to the Inari Festival in the fall.

Inari God told me it's okay because next year is coming, but we craftsmen also have feelings.

The one who brought peace to Japan was distracted.

If we don't get excited now, the man will be destroyed, and it was fortunate that we managed to finish it.

As the evening festival rises, the sunset sets westward.

In the riverbed of Arakawa, which is surrounded by darkness, we fireworks artisans gathered for the final confirmation.

In the interest of safety, we are delimiting the restricted area with a rope and have the militia guard it as a precaution.

In that context, there were a large number of spectators from all over the country who wanted to take a closer look at Japan's first fireworks, and the surroundings were all over the place.

They are all waiting for the moment when a new artifact is presented.

However, it goes without saying that the priority of Edo, where Inari God lives, was high when water treatment work was carried out nationwide.

Therefore, the riverbed of Arakawa is also under development, and even if fireworks erupt, there will be almost no damage to the spectators.

The grounds along the embankment are so widely occupied that it is a place for Edo townsfolk to rest except on rainy days.

But now, fireworks craftsmen are monopolizing residents' lounges.

"Master! Adjust the flares and place the projectiles! It's over!"

"Alright, move on to the final confirmation of the fuse line!"

Got it!

We're busy running around right now, and we can't leave our positions just in case.

In the event of an abnormal event such as an outbreak, you must be prepared for some injury, but thanks to the latest fire protection clothing, it is only about a light burn to the exposed area of the skin.

It seems to be ready for the fuse anyway, so the fireworks artisan's parent.

In other words, I'll signal the people on the scene to launch.

"Not only the spectators but also the Inari gods are watching this fireworks!

Let's go! First shot! Launch started! "

"Roger, first shot! Launch is on!"

Repeat my command for confirmation, then ignite the fuse line, and gradually advance toward the inside of the torch.

And after the craftsman at the scene had been far enough away, the projectile exploded and a loud noise echoed around.

Hearing the distracted sound of Hülühl farther away, a small, bright ball runs through the dark sky and quickly reaches the sky.

Then, at the same time as the explosion sounded louder than before, a beautiful and colorful large circle of flowers bloomed in the night sky of Edo town.

Ooh!!!

A lot of spectators stopped, and some of them were too moved to shed tears.

Priority had been given to safety and confidentiality, and had been launched experimentally on several occasions in militia garrisons.

So this is the first time I've shown it in a position so close to the people.

Its brightly colored flowers look like chrysanthemums, thanks to its ingenious mix of metals rather than white.

At the behest of God Inari, we craftsmen spared no effort to make fireworks while we slept.

Even though only one shot has been fired yet, if you look at the reaction of the spectators who are making a fuss of ecstasy, you can see that it is a great success.

But in fact, none of the craftsmen, including me, were satisfied.

This is because although I was able to finish rowing, I had fewer to prepare.

Since the preparation period was only at the beginning of summer and autumn, only five fireworks were prepared.

In contrast, Inari God hopes to launch more than a hundred colorful fireworks one day.

It is a dream that is not feasible at the moment.

But when that future comes, we fireworks craftsmen can be nosy in many ways.

It's no exaggeration to say that you're behind the Inari Festival.

This would not have been possible if only the world of Taipei had visited.

Everyone of us craftsmen realizes that it is all thanks to the help of the Inari God.

I'm still firing the rest of the fireworks in sequence, but even though it's only a short time to vividly colour the night sky, it's really beautiful and beautiful.

I will renew my willingness to surprise you even more next year with a sense of accomplishment in my work based on the reaction of visitors.

After successfully completing the fifth launch, I snort and murmur.

"I didn't think it would be a great experience in this world."

"Thanks to God Inari."

"Yes, but he's not so satisfied."

Even with just five fireworks, everyone in the world has accomplished a feat that has never been achieved before.

But in addition to more than a hundred fireworks, Inari looks far away in various ways.

So Japan's leap has only just begun, and it was clear that it was still halfway there.

"Where the hell is Inari taking us?"

"I don't know, but it must be a good place.Much more than ever. "

"... I see."

I am nearly fifty years old, so I will not live long, but other craftsmen are different.

They will surely walk with the Inari God to a future they do not yet see.

That made me envy the young craftsmen very much.

If he had been born on the day he appeared on earth, it would not have been a pity to see him for the longest time.

Then a young man came to me with a stunned smile.

"Do you still believe that your father will die before he turns 50?"

"Hmm? Oh, yeah."

In wartime, it would have been better to live to the age of fifty, but the average life expectancy continues to grow as Inari God spreads new medical care and hygiene.

I don't know what I don't know, but I try to maintain a healthy life by getting a doctor's license issued by the Edo Shogun.

As a result, anyone can prevent injury or illness to some extent and extend their life span.

What a lie, but because that Inari god has made public statements and has actually produced results, there is no doubt that it is a historical fact.

However, there are also a certain number of unlicensed and Yabu doctors, so you should be very careful to check your doctor's license.

When I was talking to a fellow craftsman, it seemed that I had finished clearing the launching cylinder and a young man came here to check out the next steps.

"Master, I'm ready. Are you sure you want to start the flashlight fireworks? "

"Thank you, but watch out for burns and accidents."

Roger that.

The craftsman who came to confirm the arrangement will move to the spark of the pipe that had been prepared in advance, gather confident candidates of the selected physical strength, and make the final confirmation.

Incidentally, a flashlight is one that emits sparks over the sky, which is plain compared to fireworks launched.

However, it didn't take that much skill or ingenuity, and it didn't end with flowers blooming, and it had the advantage of a long production time.

So in order to relieve the humiliation that only five shots could be prepared for the launch ceremony, we made a simple flashlight fireworks as a bustle.

However, this has a weakness in that it emits fire powder directly above it, causing it to descend on the person below it.

It can only withstand fire clothing, vigour and guts.

Anyway, I hope Inari and the spectators enjoy it now.

The craftsmen, including me, had no more pride and joy than that.
