Chapter 281: The arrival of the Seven Sword divisions
The most horrifying aspect of this entrance wasn’t the fact that space was giving way for what seemed to be a massive reinforcement for the human army. No, this didn’t scare them as much as the ridiculous fact that world essence was reacting to whoever was leading this force.
All the ancient races were more in tune with the world. They had practiced various cultivation arts that let them access essence and brute‑forced their way into being evolvers, but even they knew that world essence could never and had never been tapped into before.
It was an elusive force limited to the very usage of the world — repairing space, maintaining gravity, life, and all required the access to this supreme force.
But somehow, someone had caused it to react. Memory flashed into the minds of the Fae race leaders, the information about an entity that had caused the Seven Deadly Sin temples to react.
"Dammit! This is beyond our capacity to overcome," the head Fae general grimaced in horror. But it was too late. If he had had this realization earlier, they might have still had a chance, but now...
They couldn’t retreat. That wouldn’t save his army; it would only make their deaths come quicker and more swiftly. What they could do was try to hold on long enough for reinforcement. Hopefully, once the higher‑ups sensed a delay, they would react quickly.
Meanwhile, on the humans’ side, the silver metal‑coated feet crunched against the black obsidian sheet the dragons had turned the earth to. And then, slowly, the whole frame seeped out of the widening wormhole.
Seth, completely donned in his silver glinting genetic suit, runes pulsing and carrying vestiges of his essence, undulated wildly. His head fully immersed in the battle helm, his vision constantly enhanced his field sight range, while also processing high‑quality audio immersion of everything around him.
This battle suit practically enhanced Seth’s senses to the limits a bronze human could possibly perceive. If before it could be said that human senses weren’t sharp enough to even perceive 0.01 percent of reality, now Seth could confidently say he could perceive around a percent.
He could feel every movement within a mile, every sound, everything — and practically nothing could best him in this range. The world essence drawn by his World Saint title even made it all the more effective. His essence recovery rate was so fast it was ridiculous; you might as well say he had access to the infinite essence of his realm on earth!
This was one of the greatest boons the World Saint title had provided him so far.
His senses settled, and he seemed to realize something. A massacre had just occurred, and from the lingering weak flow of essence Seth could tell it was his side that had suffered a disastrous loss.
Seth couldn’t know how many more of his people were being massacred this way. Without special means, an average human had no way to defend himself from a dragon — especially when all dragons were innate Awakened‑grade evolvers.
They simply wouldn’t stand a chance. Fury boiled in his heart, the very storm of world essence concentrating around his frame quaked in resonance.
As his gene skill roiled in full capacity, void unfolded, plopping out a dark ashen spear billowing with an ominous haze of darkness. The ashen texture gave away the fact that it was practically carved from bone.
This was a weapon of recent purchase from the primordial flash sale system — the Grim Bone Spear. And the moment he wrapped his grip around this weapon, his mind sank into a brilliant realm.
That moment was an unexpected necessity, one of sudden enlightenment. His bronze cells thrummed in a region he had never felt them throb before — the frontal glabella. His eyes glowed as the bronze cells residing in his brain pulsed and buzzed.
For the first time, Seth felt a sudden reaction from his psychic wave, a pulsating connection holding a strong grip over his spear. His gaze burned in realization. "That’s right, the psychic wave I had seemed to be able with was definitely the organic matter of bone..."
Meaning with this spear he would be able to utilize his telekinesis to a degree, boosting his lethality further. But that wasn’t all...
His Grand Maester gene lineage thrummed and resonated with the weapon in his hands — this time not from what it was made of but from what it was.
How could he have been so blind? It was right before him and he didn’t see it. The weapon he should be most in tune with had to be the spear.
After all, his ancestors crafted the first weapon. Wouldn’t that constitute the spear as the foremost product?
Now... how to put it, the enhancement his Absolute Weapon resonance poured into this spear was on a level he hadn’t felt before. The lethality of his weapon instantly soared by vast margins.
His will thrummed, embodying both the grim essence and branding the spear concept to will. While his hand glowed with mixed currents of annihilation and tidal force, his gene suit pulsed brilliantly as his frame tore forward.
His spear swung into a crescent curve, stabbing as his essence flooded the lethal weapon. His telekinesis helped him exaggerate the spear’s weight by drastic degrees — a lethal strike through and through.
The blitzing speed was so fast you could as well term it instant teleportation, processing a series of movements so fast even the dragons couldn’t react. A dragon’s slitted pupils constricted as a silhouette covered its sight.
Seth was upon it faster than it could assess, his spear looming with a disastrous and catastrophic intensity, bearing down with a ghoulish might that tore straight into its eyes, sinking into the slits, deathly pulses of grim energy raging.
A pained bellow thundered through the horizon, the dragon’s head recoiling as a waterfall intensity of golden‑tinged blood poured, instantly losing an eye.
Its scaly lids snapped shut, but before it could even perform a full retreat, Seth zeroed in with a blink, closing distance between him and the dragon, pressing it to give it no space to retreat.
The spear flipped and streaked down again, Seth’s gaze gleaming so bright the silver coating of his genetic suit helm couldn’t dull their shine.
There was zero resistance as the ruby scales shattered into crumbles, almost as though made of porcelain.
Both the Fae and the dragons on the side had their eyes wide with horror. What kind of force was so powerful that the dragons’ apex‑level natural defense crumbled like nothing?
The spear tore into its side, the sheer force behind it knocking the wind out of the dragon as the enormous beast croaked smoke and grim energy raged.
One might assume that with the size difference the attack’s efficiency shouldn’t have been so high... But that was for others.
His spear carried dreadful destroyer essence compressed within it, and the moment it penetrated the flesh, it injected the dreadful dose into the creature... and once unleashed, the damage that would follow was much worse than if it was hit with a spear its size.
The deathly essence raged so far it caused instant critical damage, taking the massive ruby‑scaled beast’s vitality to dip.
And just in queue, various figures zipped into frame. From the side, the wormhole bowed large enough to allow entries of more soldiers.
Evolvers from all seven Sword Divisions zipped in, some clad in small battle armors but the majority cloaked with massive‑sized mech Behemoths.
Large enough to contend with a dragon, and hundreds marched in, led by evolvers cloaked in more portable sizes.
It didn’t take a second for them to complete a full assessment of the situation, and they plunged straight into action.
Figures of massive mechas zipped into the horizon to confront the dragons.
The retreating humans halted and clamored at the sight.
This... this was definitely an ally, right? This prowess — it had to be from the human race.
Their hopes might have been extinguished previously, but the candle was still warm, making their hope easier to ignite.
Eyes burned with torch‑like intensity of hope, as they gritted their teeth, mustered what was left of their forces, and pushed right behind the seven Sword Divisions.
Seth dealt with a dragon with such ferocious might, the others didn’t dare show their backs or they would be next.
That wasn’t a probability, it was a promise. Was this monster a human? How could a human be this strong? Both the one assaulted and the ones spectating cried.
The Fae forces, having no choice but to continue advancement, grimaced in dread as panic spread through their ranks.
The mechas homed in on their prey, surrounding it in a deadlock zone that determined the dragons’ fates.
All mechas instantly manifested massive‑sized energy weapons, sweeping through the wind for an attack.
For the first time in a long time, the dragons felt fear course through their veins.
Their slits trembled with terror, as a genetic memory of a certain group of humans who once terrorized their reign resurfaced.
Humans so powerful they caused the entire dragon race to fear their very existence... the Dragon Slayers.
Despair washed over them, as all the mechas struck in a uniform motion. The battle assist installed in the colossal pieces of mechs allowed them to synchronize attacks and movement, taking advantage of swift coherent timed movements.
This simple effect boosted their battle efficiency against dragons to terrifyingly high levels. It wasn’t a match at all.
The dragons couldn’t even fully react to the brutal snare, and the darkness of death loomed as myriad energy blades — concave, straight, jagged, and double‑edged — sank straight through their scales.
Drawing deathly lacerations, and within the first few seconds, the dragon Seth first assaulted was dead, the other three following in short beats.
The Fae trembled, expressions turning white, as they witnessed the instant devastation.
Those were four deadly flame dragons at their prime, and yet they were shredded with such ease. Did they even have a chance?
