Chapter 282: Mission division
Silver streaks lined down the skies, as the mecha forces swarmed towards the Fae, looming with a deathly intent.
While Seth didn’t push further and just homed over everything, observing the complete massacre that ensued.
Now he had to admit, maybe the newbloods weren’t mentally fragile as he initially assumed. With unwavering conviction, the division soldiers tore through the ranks of the enemy, tearing through the frail force, decimating everything in one go.
There was little to no resistance. Even Seth was taken aback by their terrifying battle capacity — fitting for a force tasked to bring extinction to their foes.
This force was way above his initial estimation. These guys were capable of so much that decimating the dragons didn’t seem like such a hard task anymore. His eyes shone as he watched the entire enemy force mowed to death, unable to even defend themselves.
The soldiers from the human side watched in awe. With the sight right before them, it was clear that their input wouldn’t be needed.
Enemies that once charged with a halo of invincibility were now scattered all over the plains — dead, bleeding, and defeated. The humans felt a surge of morale swell in their chests.
Was this damage really the doing of the human race? Then this war didn’t seem so pessimistic. Their eyes surged with reinvigorated lights of hope.
Meanwhile, on Seth’s side, right on cue, a swift prompt flashed into the interface of their mechas and battle suits, carrying prompts about their next missions.
Seth blinked in realization that each division would be sent on separate missions, and he had to agree with this method. That was one of the best ways to maximize their battle capacity.
The interface flickered as a minimap holding the location of their next target flashed at the lower corner, while the details laid bare in text.
Seth’s eyes flickered seriously at the sight of the mission content, his heartbeat quickening. This time they weren’t after a small flock of dragons like these. No, they were going to set their next attack on a group of dragons numbering thirteen, with his division members alone!
The fuck? Weren’t dragons tagged as solitary creatures? Why were they moving in flocks? And how was he supposed to slay all thirteen with his division of only 140 evolvers...
But it wasn’t like he could run from it. He glanced towards Team Alpha’s direction, and Lara was already staring his way, her eyes blazing with firmness. Besides, they could use this chance to fully activate their bronze cells and graduate from being false bronze humans.
The core reactors of their battle suits revved, as they slowly tuned to the mini‑warp embedded technology. These tiny reactors across all battle suits could spark enough spatial essence to form their own tunnelway through space — a function called group jumping.
Using the GP homing device, they were able to space jump directly towards the area of their mission. The battle suits pulsed weakly as the reactors went into turbo‑charge mode; another group space jump wouldn’t be possible for the next 45 minutes!
Seth’s eyes shone. "So I guess I have 45 minutes to destroy this bunch..." The Grim Bone Spear trembled in his grasp, hungry for more blood.
They were in a mountain region of sorts, with thirteen crimson‑scaled dragons looming far ahead...
The temperature rose, making their battle suits consume more power to tap into cooling capabilities. Their energy weapons sparked to life as they burst into uniform motion, arranging themselves into an attack formation.
The mirage cloaking system sparked to life, blending their silhouettes into the plains. Their auras dwindled to practically nothing, while underneath all that cloak they lay in ready stances, prepared to pounce on the enemy at any moment.
The dragons remained oblivious. While they were intelligent lifeforms, they still had a beastly nature, one deeply ingrained into self, and their perception fully relied on their physical senses.
Dragons couldn’t use will or mental scans, and so they fell right into the trap. The entire Division One was like arrows on bows drawn taut, and the moment the dragons slipped right into their range...
With Seth leading the formation, his Grim Bone Spear tapped into its abilities and duplicated around his frame, slowly turning into a rain of disastrous bone spears riding gravity with ferocious intent.
And the dragons were too big of a target to miss or evade. Caught right out of the blue, the forefront beasts taking the full brunt of the attacks groaned in agony, as a sinister rain of deadly spears impaled straight through their scales. The sheer force of telekinesis helped the projectiles crush the dragons’ ruby armor.
Burrowing right through their frames, turning them to swiss cheese, three dragons let out pained roars as they drifted downwards away from the flock, their wings riddled with bleeding holes.
Their entire bodies bled and suffered as the poisonous essence ravaged them, but their vitality helped them remain lucid. They beat their wings helplessly against the air to glide downwards.
Seth stared down at his prey. "Lara!" he called, and she responded quickly, swooping in right behind him.
"Each of your teammates should take charge of a team of twenty, and act in one unit while facing the ten."
Lara furrowed her brows. "But what about those three? They seem to have lost their flight capabilities, but they still look strong and capable."
Seth nodded in agreement. Those three were indeed still very capable and dangerous. "About those three... leave them to me!"
Before Lara could respond, Seth’s frame plummeted downwards, his Grim Bone Spear broiling with intent, while Absolute Weapon Resonance enhanced its capabilities to a ridiculous level.
The dragons snarled, sensing the looming threat from afar, their relative size making Seth seem like a fly trying to move three massive boulders. While their vision was sharp enough to perceive him, it didn’t have the capability to follow the swift movement of such a small foe.
Before the dragons could even know which would be attacked first, blue tidal force laced with streaks of annihilation slammed in from the side, bursting through a dragon’s head.
The spear pierced in from one end and burst out the other, deathly will and essence eroding the brain and killing the dragon in a single beat.
The body collapsed lifeless, muscles spasming loose, organs shutting down one after another, before its massive heart halted motion.
A dragon was dead. He had killed another dragon! His eyes glowed with glee, as his grip over his spear tightened and the blade buzzed in excitement. The other three dragons stared in horror.
Their wings now limp, blood circulation halted to near zero. They couldn’t fly. Their injured limbs made movement torture. Their eyes flickered in fright as their jaws snapped open, crimson pulses surging up their throats, flame essence filling the air.
The temperature of the surroundings rose higher, as a beam of scorching flames tore down the wind.
Bursting everything in its path into molten splash, Seth deftly weaved through the slicing beams of fire.
His spear gathered force as it whipped through a dragon’s throat, crushing the flame organ. It reacted violently, exploding and bursting the head into meat paste.
Flames licked clean blood and gore. One dragon left.
The spear returned to his grasp, spinning as he stepped forward towards the last dragon.
The monster dared not unleash a flame torrent. It lay silently in wait, tail coiling into action, deadly slits eyeing Seth with malice, muscles clenching tight...
Seth’s thrusters burst with compressed jets, facilitating a movement so sudden and instant it was faster than the dragon.
The spear hammered sideways, so fast and carrying so much force... Boom!
The spear rammed straight through the beast’s skull, essence pulses reducing the brain to fried bits, killing the foe in one strike.
Three dragons died to a single human soldier. Who would believe it? His gaze burned into the distance, observing the division soldiers battling against all ten beasts.
He reached forward, and the spear swooped right into his grasp. Charging it with essence, he burst forward straight towards the remaining ten.
Homing straight onto the one in the most vulnerable position, the dragon beating its wings against the wind burst sideways in an erratic motion. That brief rocky opening was all he needed.
Seth swooped in, his hands drawn taut, his fine muscles bulged fully sculpted as the spear rammed into the back of the dragon’s skull.
There wasn’t enough force in the attack to facilitate a smooth plunge. The spear struck halfway, the tip bursting through the outer brain membrane.
Seth twisted his grip, injecting a flow of extremely deadly force into its most vital organ.
The dragon couldn’t possibly do anything to avoid death, its frame spiraling out of control as it crashed into the mountain plains...
The other dragons suddenly felt fright at the sight.
Since... Since when did humans become so terrifying?
