Chapter 286: Bomb them all into oblivion
Inferno was a great dragon, he wasn’t the strongest, but he was the only being that could step into this overlapped reality.
Because even if it was at a level long beyond the awakened rank, it was not beyond the state that the genesis nest couldn’t handle.
With its level there was supposed to be nothing on the entire Earth’s surface that should intrude on its watch.
But today, that might just change.
Carnage smoldering in its heart, the dragon’s furious gaze locked on its foe.
A man half dressed, with long bright blue flowing hair tied into a ponytail, in his grasp a glistening metal stood erect, ancient runes dancing around the weapon.
The only piece of clothing this enchanting figure seemed to have was a makeshift pair of beast-hide pants, flapping through the wind, as he stared dauntlessly at the diving dragon.
Around him a forcefield stood strong, spanning an entire range, the human forces safe and alive under its shelter.
Seth stared at the figure in awe, noticing a symbol on the man’s bare back, the same symbol imprinted on the talisman he had just activated in the nick of time.
And there was no doubt about it, this man was another mythical figure.
Seth’s eyes flickered as he came to this conclusion... "strong..." Seth whispered, feeling the overwhelming presence of the man blanketing the plains.
This was indeed an evolver above the awakened rank...
A human evolver...
The man turned his neck slightly towards Seth, his facial details still barely visible.
And his calm, commanding voice echoed. "You lot should carry on, Cain has briefed me on what has to be done!"
Seth’s eyes flickered in acknowledgement, as the blue forcefield dispersed, he didn’t tarry, wasting any time trying to converse with this figure.
Though he held immense curiosity in his heart that couldn’t override his survival instincts, Seth definitely didn’t want to be anywhere near these two when a clash began.
The atmosphere grew darker, as the colossal great dragon slowly approached, its sheer mass already blotting out the sky.
"Let’s move! Now!!!" Seth hollered, his voice exploding across the space reaching everyone as his frame zipped into the distance.
As he burst into a full sprint, the armor casing on his foot retracted revealing his unblemished feet, as he stomped against the hot rock terrain scaling further up.
He instantly equipped a pair of boots, as a flourish of astral lights coalesced into a path.
His absolute weapon resonance gene skill and force embodiment gene skill activating, his eyes bursting into brilliant gleams of astral hue.
His essence roiled, reforming itself into a bubbling wave of astral force, which he coalesced into reinforcing the astral path skill of his astral boots.
The simmering trail solidified more, and his teammates and soldiers behind seeing this knew what to do straight away.
Their thrusters burst with high compressed flames boosting their movements, as they hopped into the path, their speed suddenly undertaking a massive boost the moment they made contact with the astral trail.
The line of soldiers turned into a clean streak zipping across the horizon, as quick as they could, while the side slope of the super volcano trembled, as the dragon made a heavy landing with its full weight shifting the entire balance of the plain.
It snarled at the man in blue, its maws parting to let out a void-quaking roar, kicking up a tumultuous force of wind.
That swept through the distance, the shockwave so heavy it knocked a few soldiers out of the astral path.
But that didn’t hinder their running, the leader had given orders they had to follow, and besides—
Seth wasn’t the only one who didn’t want to be caught beneath a clash of behemoths.
The soldiers didn’t know who that figure was, or how he had appeared out of nowhere to save them in time.
But if there was one thing they had learnt so far, it was to never ask questions.
Two weeks of constant engagement with the dragon’s forces had shaped them into true machines of war.
Execute order and ask no questions, this phrase had been ingrained into their minds.
Born out of the constant evolution of near death, all evolvers in the seven attack divisions were constantly slowly unearthing the full potential of their race, their mindset had been reformed.
They weren’t who they had once been before the Origin descent, that part of them was dead.
Sprinting up the side of the towering volcano, the massive frame of the hulking mecha soldiers slowly came into full view as the astral path dissipated, their speed boost declining with its absence.
But their frames never halted, not for a second....
"Jack! Elaine! Brandon! Uriel! Lucas! Dorian!" Seth barked the names of all division leaders following close up behind him.
Without turning he issued the signal... "Now!!!"
All six soldiers framed in full hulking mechas nodded, sending out prompting signals to their divisions.
All six streaked into different paths, their divisions’ forces following behind their tracks.
Seth’s eyes glowed as he watched them all speed past him.
Everything so far was going according to plan...
As stated before this was a penetration and installation type mission, which was quite a weird name to call it.
After all, one might think since this was their final attack on the flame dragon, the human evolvers would have done something grander.
But contrary to how one might believe, it wasn’t easy to cause the extinction of a race in such a short time frame of two weeks.
Heck, the reason they were even confident their plans had a high percent chance of succeeding was because, unlike the bountiful human race,
The ancient race was relatively smaller in population, and unlike the humans, who were divided—
Not only by landmasses, culture and way of life.
These ancient races had most of their populations concentrated in a hidden pocket dimension.
With only their fighters currently roaming the Earth...
Even then causing an extinction would still be difficult, especially taking into account the human forces were so little and weak.
Yes, weak, because these ancient ones would have figured well above the awakened rank like Inferno, the great dragon they had just encountered and managed to escape.
So how were they going to eradicate the flame dragon race one might ask, especially with all these odds stacked up against them...
Well, as humans, mass destruction was their speciality, and like they say, if you can’t kill them all, then bomb it all into oblivion!
