Mona turned back around to look at Morden, her eyes showing genuine frustration at this point.

"Is there a problem with that?" Mona asked.

"No no, there isn’t. I was just wondering if we were actually just going to leave this body over here like that," Morden answered while stealing a glance at the dead body lying not too far behind them.

"Leave it; people will come to clean it up soon."

"Ohh, alright then... but I am still curious about one thing, just one thing."

"What is it now?"

"Why did you kill him so fast? I am sure it’s probably not because he failed alone."

Mona released a deep sigh to calm herself down so she doesn’t directly end Morden’s life there.

"He was a maniac that used his illusion to make people believe he was a god and told them to offer him virgins."

"I was never going to let him live," she added in a Stern voice.

"At this point, if you ask any more questions or even say a single more thing, then I might not be able to hold myself back."

Morden looked into her eyes, noticed just how serious she actually was, and immediately shut his mouth before moving closer to her.

"Try to shut your mind off as much as possible or you might go mad," Mona whispered just as Shadows started rising from the ground until it completely covered the two of them.

The large mound made of shadow soon fell back to the ground, but now there was nothing there anymore. Mona and Morden had vanished.

"Trishh... Come here."

"Open your body... Open your mind."

"Accept me,"

Morden kept hearing strange words coming from the unending darkness that was surrounding them. One thing remained constant about every single one of them: it was the fact that they didn’t sound human, and they all seemed to be inviting him somewhere.

Since Mona had warned him about it earlier, Morden followed instruction and didn’t try to think further; he just emptied his mind and let his thoughts stray.

Time went by in a blur; Morden wasn’t sure if it was a few seconds or even an hour, but eventually he noticed the darkness in their surroundings had receded.

But even after that, he still wasn’t able to regain his composure immediately; he still felt slightly lightheaded.

"Get it together; we only traveled for less than ten seconds, so the effect on you should still be mild." Morden heard Mona’s harsh voice from the side, and thankfully it was enough to snap him back from always, especially from what she had just said.

’Ten seconds? We traveled for just ten seconds,’ he thought with a shocked face.

At that point Mona wasn’t standing by him anymore; she had already started moving forward, which forced Morden to take an actual good look at his environment.

’We are back in the Bearer’s Organization; don’t tell me the watchman’s office is actually in here.’

With a mix of brisk steps and gallops, Morden quickly cut up to Mona, who was already at the entrance.

The two of them entered together since the whole building actually only had a few people going in and out at this time of the day.

Even after entering, Mona didn’t stop and reduce her pace in any way; she kept walking with the same aloof hair as she moved towards the end of the hall.

At the end of the large hall, she took a large turn to the left, a section Morden hadn’t had the opportunity to explore yet.

After the turn, the only thing left in front of us was a single door, which Mona approached and opened to expose an elevator.

’Wow, this is some really secret agent-looking shit right here.’

"Isn’t the door supposed to have some sort of security or something, since the organization is supposed to be secret?" Morden asked.

"It will have actually needed one if a random person can actually make it to the door without dropping dead,"

"And even that door handle, do you think it’s ordinary?"

Those two statements were all Mona said before going quiet again.

Now Morden and Mona were standing quietly in an elevator, each of them having really different thoughts going on in their heads.

’I can’t say I don’t see why the Omnisphere wants this guy dead; he asks too many questions.’

’Wow, we are really going down. Underground organizations are really cool.’

They didn’t have to wait too long until the elevator arrived at the perfect spot and stopped before opening its entrance.

The sight that came alive in front of Morden immediately made him open his mouth in awe, or should I say, shock.

Instead of seeing a large crowded place with multiple workers and multiple lights, all Morden saw was a mostly dark area with a single receptionist and nothing else.

’Her again,’

"Brenda, hand over this dummy to Darlus; he knows what to do with him," Mona said before walking away.

Realizing that he had been abandoned here, Morden couldn’t help but look back at the lady with the round-rimmed glasses sitting at the desk.

"Good evening," he greeted with a smile.

"Good Evening Mr. Tales, please follow me; I will take you to meet Mr. Xerxes now," Brenda said while standing up from her seat.

From there, she led Morden through a hallway that was just to the left of their original location; they passed by multiple doors on the way until they finally arrived at one door.

"You can go to Mr. Tales; I will be returning to my post now," Brenda said before running off, leaving Morden standing awkwardly by the door.

’Why the hell did she run away so fast?’ Morden thought before pushing the door open.

"Damnnn, it’s Cold," Morden muttered while he took a step into the room.

He hadn’t even fully entered when he heard a loud voice from inside.

"Ohhh wow, another one for me to freeze,"

And before he knew it, an icicle was flying straight at his face.

’Whattttttt!!!!’
