Morden stared at the crystal and then back at the information in front of him.

’Key to the old world? what the hell is that?’

He remembered very vividly that where he was right now was called the old world and how and why that name came to be; he didn’t.

’Does this mean that with this stone I can get access to the old world, anything I like?’

’That seems like a really important treasure, why is it in the hands of these Monkey leaders?’

While still lost in thought, Morden didn’t realize that he had unintentionally been ignoring the injured Monkey leader in front of him.

The Monkey leader watched Morden’s reaction and immediately showed a knowing smile.

Woohoo!!!!!

He suddenly made out Loud forcing Morden out of his head and to reality.

"Ohhh, I am sorry," Morden apologized while awkwardly scratching the back of his head.

The Monkey Leader, stared at him for a bit, turned around, and suddenly pointed at the walls.

Morden’s eyes traced where he was pointing and immediately noticed something he hadn’t ever since they had gotten in here. An important detail that I should spot immediately.

The problem was with the walls of the cave; they were just too smooth to be natural, and that wasn’t even all. There were paintings on the wall.

Calling them paintings actually seems like quite a stretch, as they looked more like murals than anything else.

"What are these?" Morden muttered before slowly getting closer, though he didn’t have to do that as the moment his eyes on them, the Murals looked to have enlarged and taken up all of his vision.

Now Morden could do every single thing there; it started with the depictions of Man arriving on a strange world. The next one showed the man meeting a monkey in that same world.

And then another one showed up. It contained the image of the man and the monkey growing together, followed by the appearance of a group of other monkeys.

The event in the next image wasn’t really clear, but Morden guessed that it was like the man was leaving.

Image after image after image came up, and every single time it was becoming harder and harder to understand what was actually going on.

But at the end of it all, Morden felt refreshed; he felt more alive than he had ever been.

[Intelligence +20 (perm.)]

He suddenly saw a notification stating that he had gotten a 20 % increase in his intelligence stats. Now Intelligence was back to being his highest stat.

"Now this is a pleasant surprise."

"I wonder if it’s a one-time thing."

To confirm his hypothesis, Morden tried hard to focus on the murals in front of him, but in the end he didn’t manage to get anything at all from them.

It had become ordinary, with most parts being extremely difficult to grasp.

After a few more tries, Morden eventually gave up and turned back around to look at the Monkey leader that had been patiently waiting with stone still in hand.

’I will just accept; what’s the worst that could happen?’ he shrugged and stretched his hands out to accept the stone.

The Monkey leader grew increasingly excited and immediately handed the stone over to Morden.

"It feels slightly cold to touch,’ he complained.

Though the next Instant be regretted ever saying, the stone slowly started heating up, and soon it slowly began directly melting on his palm.

Morden immediately grew alarmed, and even the pain he was feeling was enough to give him a lot of concern, especially since his strength had increased.

He yanked his hands profusely, hoping the molten Stone would go off, but it didn’t; instead, it started seeping deeper and deeper into his skin until it wasn’t visible anymore.

As a result, you expect the pain to increase further, and it actually did. The molten rock didn’t stop in his palm, though; without anyone’s control, it was already crawling up the side of his hands.

"Haaaa," he screamed out loud in pain, forcing himself down to the ground and beginning at his own arm with the intention of getting the stone out in whatever way possible.

On the side, the Monkey leader was also in a panicking state; he didn’t know how the stone he had given to Morden had caused him so much pain.

He had only been doing what his father had told him to. Long ago, his father had brought him here and showed him this stone and told him that he was to see anyone that fits that looks different but feels like part of them; he should give this to them.

That was exactly what he had done, and now he was in so much pain.

On the ground, Morden was now clawing at his chest now; the extreme heat was there now, and it seemed to be slowly down like it had gotten to its stop.

A few seconds later, the movement stopped completely even though the heat was slowly reducing until he couldn’t feel anything at all anymore; that was when Morden realized that it was all done.

He quickly took off his upper clothes to check his well-toned chest and abdominal muscles, but that wasn’t all that was there.

There was now a tattoo he didn’t sign up directly on his right chest muscle. The tattoo was completely dark and was shaped exactly like the stone he had just collected.

’I knew it,’

Morden was just about to let out a celebratory laugh, completely forgetting the pain he just went through now; the Monkey leader had also grown calm to see Morden normal again.
