Chapter 452: The Future
About half a year ever since the changes in the world began happening, Michael and Kate finally got engaged. The engagement between the two of them was not something grand, something that attracted much attention.
At least, Michael did not allow many people to come over, as that could easily make some of the people that he was close to uncomfortable. That was a special for some of the people from the Morgan family.
Considering the growth that sky Technologies had experienced over the 6 months, it had already become the biggest giant in the technology industry.
It had yet to fully take over the technology industry, but it was only a matter of time, before it fully eliminated the other struggling companies.
Understanding that there was such a vast difference in terms of status between him and Kate, he did not want to put any pressure on her or her family. Therefore, he only invited a few people that were close to him, and allowed Kate to invite all those that she wanted to.
In the end, the engagements ceremony did not have many people. Looking around, Michael could easily identify each person, and they had at least interacted once or twice.
That was of course eliminating some of the members of the Morgan family, that he had never met before.
Despite the fact that Michael had not invited most of the big shots that knew him, that deep not imply that they did not know about the engagement ceremony. Therefore, they sent their congratulations, not forgetting gifts.
Even though some of the gifts were not very useful, considering the changes that had happened, but even then, when most people that were not well informed about Michael saw them, they were completely shocked.
Regardless, the engagement went through successfully, without any hitches. This was something that caused quite some waves all over the world, which was mostly brought about by the reactions of the big shots around the world.
Talking about the big shots, they were no longer those same figures from before the changes brought about by mutants. Instead, they were mostly the figures from the alliance.
Just about a month after the release of the mutation serums, the alliance came to light. The official members of the alliance were known to the public, which shocked many people.
Regardless, understanding the status that these people held, yet they were congratulating two 18 year-olds for getting engaged, it obviously raised a lot of questions and doubts about the identity of the two.
This led to many people trying to investigate about their identity. Michael had already made it so that it would not be that easy for people to be able to find out about Kate’s identity. Of course, it was impossible for him to be able to completely hide her identity, but at least, just from the fact that her information was not easily accessible was enough to be able to shock many people.
Then, realizing that they could not find much about Michael, apart from the fact that just about a year ago, he had been an ordinary person, it left them completely dumbfounded.
In the end, despite not figuring out Michael’s identity, they realized that he was not someone that they were supposed to mess with. It was not just about the fact that they could not find much about his information, but also because of the alliance that had obviously shown their stance by congratulating the couple during the engagement.
Now, after almost half a year, it was almost time for the big event. Even though Michael understood that it can be a while, and most people had already began focusing on other things, it was bound to attract attention.
But this time, Michael had no any intention of making this event small. Instead, he wanted to make it as big as possible. He wanted the whole world to know about it.
Initially, Kate felt that this was a little too much. But in the end, Michael managed to convince her, and she agreed.
The preparations for the event had already began, and in just a few days, it would be time. And, Michael was looking forward to it.

At the moment, Michael was resting inside the mansion, the very same Mansion that was located in Danvill city. Despite the changes that had occurred, Michael had decided to continue staying here, mainly because he liked the environment here.
In the living room, Michael held his phone continuously swiping the screen of his phone, going through several videos. He had downloaded quite a number of short videos and clips, which were mostly about some funny events.
In fact, he had even asked Onyx to help him download some of the videos that could no longer be found online, but had left traces. As long as they possessed the comedy element, they would all be included in the downloads.
Most of the time, when he was not busy with something else, he would pass time by watching the videos.
As he was focused on watching the videos, he heard the sound of footsteps approaching him. Looking over, he realized that Kate was coming downstairs.
As he looked at her, he could not help but smile, enjoying the beauty.
Ever since they got engaged, Kate had changed her style. Most of the time, she was usually focused on combat, whether she was a police officer, or part of NEXUS.
But now, things were different. She did not need to go out, and she was not being assigned any missions from NEXUS. Because of this, she had a lot of free time.
Apart from that, she had also received some advice from her mother and other ladies close to her. Therefore, she changed, something that Michael really loved.
Kate’s blonde hair fell in soft, loose curls past her shoulders, with a few strands resting naturally around her face.
This time, she had put on some light makeup, making her already beautiful face, fair skin and delicate features to stand out even more.
She was dressed in a fitted dark-blue dress with a simple waistline and a flowing skirt that reached below her knees. A pair of black flats and small silver earrings completed the look.
As she approached him, she revealed a beautiful smile, obviously in a good mood. And just like Michael, she was looking forward to the next few days.
Without saying anything, she went ahead and sat on the couch that Michael was lying on. That was after she lifted Michael’s head, before sitting, and placing it on her lap.
Maintaining her silence, and the beautiful smile on her face, she began stroking Michael’s hair, messing it up. Michael didn’t mind her actions, instead, he enjoyed the moment.
The two remained silent for quite a while, both of them watching the videos on Michael’s phone.
A little while later, Kate finally broke the silence. She looked at Michael and asked, "Michael, what do you think of the future? Do you think that what we are expecting will happen? Are there really other civilizations out there?"
Michael understood what Kate was implying. For almost a year now, quite a number of changes had happened, especially with the technology that was released by Sky Technologies.
As expected of the high level technology, even though not all the technology that was available within the system store had been released, it was way beyond the technology that was known before.
Before Sky Technologies, the technology in this world could already allow them to be able to explore what existed out there.
But after the technology that was released by Sky Technologies appeared, things improved. Now, several planets around this world had already begun being improved, and very soon, people might start living there.
If Michael had decided to go all out and released all types of technology that could be found within the system store, it would only take a little while before those planets could be converted into life planets.
But, Michael restrained himself for some reasons. He did not want to go all out, at least for now. Instead, he decided to allow the humans in this world to be able to adapt to the current level of technology first.
In any case, for now, the mutation serum was the highest level of power that could be found within the system store. With that, in case of anything like an invasion, it would be possible for them to be able to deal with it.
Back to the question asked by Kate, Michael did not need to think before he responded with conviction, "Yes, I believe that there are other civilizations out there. As for what I think about the future, I really have no thoughts about it. At least, I have not thought much about it.
I always make speculations, imagine scenarios and so on, but it is difficult for me to be able to accurately think much about the future. At least, as long as it is not related to us, I cannot fully envision it."
Kate was not sure where Michael got the confidence to say that other civilizations existed out there. But still, she trusted him. That was especially with the issue brought about by the meteors, which were the source of the mutation serums.
Even though, until now, despite exploring several planets, they had not encountered any traces of other civilizations, maybe they really existed.
Michael shifted his gaze, looking directly into Kate’s eyes. Kate did not dodge his gaze, instead, she looked back at him with a faint smile.
"Don’t worry, after we are done, I will make sure to take you out of this world, so that we can go on an adventure, and maybe explore the entire galaxy, or maybe even the universe." Michael stated, his eyes fixed on Kate’s.
Kate did not respond with words. Instead, she bent down, planting a kiss on Michael’s lips. Immediately after, she said, "I trust you. And, I look forward to the future with you."
